  1. What is this that I keep hearing about a wet field? If you can amass 500 yards offense on said field, then you should be able to put a few points on the board. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
  2. Splains, What is the low-down on the new lineman transfer? Looked like a pretty big boy to me.
  3. HGTV.............. How did the Big boys up front match up with Fulton? Was Fulton able to drive the ball any? Was Fulton Afraid to break their defensive huddle like Campbell Co.?
  4. Isn't there one in Knoxville at Knox West and somwhere in Anderson County? Word is that the one in Anderson County is a "combine" for coach Curs recruiting regiment. Given that info , do ya think Maryville wil;l be having one also?
  5. Maybe he could a little bit, but he also almost lost 3 games by himself that year. It was defense and running backs that won it that year. Running QB's in college never make it in hte NFL. Scott Frost, Eric Crouch, just to name a few. Nebraska is a prime example. Vick is an extremely effective runner, but he is a PASSER. They do not run option in the NFL. All NFL QB's are passers. James Banks never has had the passing skills required at UT and I expect Shaffer to be no different. The Micheal Vick aura about him is going to hurt him. The running of Frost and Frazier is different from the running of Vick. Vick has elusiveness (yes it is a word). He is slicker than snot on a doorknob. This quality TOTALLY frustrates D.C.'s. As for the option Q.B. in the pros, what idiot is going to pay millions to put a Q.B. up as burnt offerings?
  6. Red81 I have heard discussion that eludes to the fact of East having high enrollment numbers due to special ed kids whom are not allowed to play football. Can you elaborate?
  7. Stinkypete... If I wear my, "#1 dad" shirt and you wear your "best dad in the universe" shirt, who wins? Gentlemen, we could be on the realms of a dilemma. Suggestion for all you coaches out there; Start ordering all the 1000 lb squat, 700 lb Bench, and 400+ lb powerclean shirts and take the winter off!
  8. Are you saying that WB has more talent than JC at this point, or did Meadows make an erroneous decision?
  9. Screwed the pooch when they fired Walt.
  10. Lovey........ Kevin Julian played LB NOT DB. Get your facts straight. Starsnbars........ What about Joe Cofer? He started at Mike lb for U.T. as a true freshman. He weighed about 198.
  11. Halls?100? 50.2 in the 400? With a time like that you MAY have placed in the dogwoods, right? 3rd was 50 wasn't, it or 48~49. With comp like that you may have been pushed for a P.R. huh? Did you enter or did you have a pulled hammie? Which one of the "clickabe smilies" denotes sarcasm?

    40 times

Halls100....... I am an avid high school football fan. I see various high school teams play every year ( mostly in Knoxville). I saw Halls play South - doyle this year, they romped them. I didn't see anyone with that type of speed on the field which leads me to think one thing, " You were not a football player, you were merely on a football team". Sheppard is a pretty smart fella, given the lack of speed that he experiences year in-year out, he would definitely find a place for someone who REALLY runs that fast and put him on the field. This leads me to think one of two things, "either you are a liar or you have been lied to (about your times)". Who in the dickens are you trying to fool? What position did you "try-out" for? Had to have been a skilled position. Who coaches those positions over there? Must not be much if they can't take speed like yours and make use of it. Quit lyin, I am going to have to make a rare appearance and watch some track. When is your next meet? what is your name? If I don't make the meet, perhaps I can find you in the papers.
  13. My High School is in another state. Our Mascot was the Cardinals I graduated in 1984 It aint rocket surgery, try and figure it out yourself.
  14. Red Dog - You seem like a decent guy and I really don't want to get into a spitting contest with you. We agree on this thing a whole lot more than we disagree. A couple of things: I know Coach Stephens and things will be done his way. The language won't be allowed, and isn't being allowed in the weight room. My son will be a senior on the team next year and he has had nothing but good things to say about what Daryle has done in the weight room with the players. Whatever happened in the past with Daryle and the other Powell coaches is in the past. About half of the coaches were there when he was before and about half hve come since he left. I don't sense any problems. Powell has 5 good defensive ends now. They will all play, if not at end they are good enough players that they will be on the field somewhere. I have talked to othe coaches about Daryle. Many have good things to say about him, and others don't. That's no different than most other coaches who leave for other positions. Again, he had several job offers when he left Central. That tells me that his reputation may not be as bad as you make it to be. I deal with high school coaches on an ongoing basis in my job. I hear it all and have learned that things are never as good as some make them to be, and never as bad as some make them out. That is true in this situation. Good things in the weight room........... Let by-gones be by-gones............. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.............. It is all SO revloting. Let Powell slip up and go 4-6, 5-5 back to back. Or just have a few unproductive years (Anything is possible, don't say it aint). Daryl, daryle daril what ever the case my be Smith will be the first sacrificial lamb to face the community blaze! Or they may just wait until his kids graduate. Don't take it the wrong way Powell. This, in no way shape or form is an isolated incident. It all comes down to one thing WINNING. Just about anything can be overlooked when you are winning. Counterfeit, drinking, parties, drugs, transfers, grades..... whatever. My high school coach tried to teach me one thing. You get out of it what you put into it....... such is life.
  15. Pigeon..... It is to my understanding that Antonio Minor has a step, 1/2 what ever brother that is a Fulton. Any truth to it? If so, has he got the goods?
  16. Halls has Lockwood (who else)? I have been told by some mighty reliable resources that Lockwood is a big cry baby and couldn't come close to carrying Jake Mynatt's jock. I've been told
  17. Murvillians, A bit off form the post at hand but I don't want to be the one starting ANOTHER Maryville post..... Just curious how Carl Stewart did in the spring game. I know it is running on CSS, but I don't have the time to watch.
  18. FBE..... Good buddy, you are just a babe in the woods. What kind of person moves his kid from central to powell just because a job change? Aren't they rather close in proximity? Don't be ( or pretend to be) so naive. You Know exactly why he tried to change schools. A mass exodus was at hand.
  19. Newman I heard that "coach" was only interested in one exercise in the weight room--> the bench (must have been something he learned in high school) I bet that if this dude ever tried to do a squat, he would end up on the bathroom floor of the gym and ultimately in the hospital.
  20. Red81 If I can sift through all of this jargon that you are spoutting, I thikn you are saying that meadows is just as good a Quarles. Good buddy you are sadly mistaken.
  21. The same could be said about carter. With the athletes they have how is it possible that they only win 3 or 4 games a year?
  22. What? A post by redlips on a Central thread and no accusations of recruiting!!!??? What is this board coming to? :justwrestle:
  23. Flossie.... Expand on your 12 beers a day diet. Sounds mighty good to me. I think I have been going about this health stuff all wrong. Kids in High school need three things in order to grow: Good diet Proper exercise Sleep And if your Hulk Hogan--> say your prayers I think the most overlooked aspect is sleep. Alot of kids don't understand how crucial rest/sleep really is. Tackle... I don't think ANYONE knows of long-term effects of creatine. That may be the most dangerous thing about the stuff.
  24. RR I might not like them, but I do respect them! Although I may be classified as a "Hater" I have sense enough to know that, (in the words of the group "Alabama") "You can't keep a good man down". Regardless of where the rebels land, the very least they will do is compete. More than likely they will dominate as in the past years. When you have kids involved in "the program" for years and years, you can't help but dominate. Congrats to Maryville for continuing a winning program. PS When people say that your program is taking a dive after going 38 and 1. They are just plain ole football ignernt!
  25. What will b the ramifications in the Fulton/Central recruiting wars?
