Just a guess, the academics people whave taken over and are attempting to purge schools of athletics or anything they perceive as taking away from pure education...and of course federal funding...tite budgets you know.

A lot of people truly don't understand how important a supportative administration is. Sometimes its hard to quantify it, but the results are like an open wound....Wilson Central did as well as they could this year, the result of poor support will begin to show as the "program" that Alexander built crumbles back to mediocrity (Assuming the Principal stays in place and hires a yes man in backlash to the driven Alaxander). Congrats to Coach A. Wilson Co.....You are the victim of over active academics "rescuing" the schools from non-academic activities. The positive impact of athletics and extracurricular activities on student achievment is something that is being lost in the national debate over education.

Let me try to list them: Buck Sweep, Trap, Slice, Waggle Jet Sweep, Belly, Jet Trap, Jet Q Trap, Jet Pass, Jet Reverse XB (weakside belly/blast), XB pass Some Dropback, Some Roll Formations....many, especially after they started running the empty set Jets and such. Defense... Concrete in the slant 6-2 made famous by MTSU under Boots Later switches to a 3-3-5 and a 4-3 (didn't actually see that, just heard) weren't as good for them.

Sorry to get it off topic, but I hate see a coach bashed...especially when its obvious the basher hasn't walked up to the Bashee with his/her concerns. LOD: I support the Smith Co. Owls and the school I coach at., but as we all know, that changes with jobs as they come and go.

I hate to be right, but Crawford and Franklin County didn't sound right or feel right. Britton has the mentality that FC has been known for over the years. Congrats Coach Britton if its true.

I base my weakest comment on personal experience coaching at/against or observing most 5A classes over the last decade.

I wish computers were more complicated so that morons like you wouldn't know how to post.

1st Problem that concerns volgen...no one west of the Tennessee River cares about anything but themselves...this attitude is even more prevalent the closer you get to Memphis. 2nd Problem is that everyone east of the TN river could give a hoot about anyone to the west of it. 3rd Problem is the the yearly sign-up for membership (the ones that vote) is on Thursday before the state championship or on that Friday or Saturday morning. 4th Problem is that this is still an infant organization. Its ability to influence the TSSAA is proportionate to its membership....the Q and A on Saturday morning with Ronnie Carter brought forth a lot of issues that may/will make onto board of control meetings.

6 finalist, interviews begin monday. I don't know who the 6 are.

After the Jets get slaughtered playing a 5A schedule with low 4/ hi 3 A enrollment, What are there prospects for being competitive with the Knox/east schools they will be thrown in with....Food for thought is that Smith Co. and Livingston Academy have done ok against them.

It will remain the weakest region in the state, just a bit weaker than before. Cookeville, Big drop but Joslin will have them ready to play. Lincoln Co., Will be improved, probably the team to beat, but well short of competing with region 4. Franklin Co., New coach, possibly a slump as new systems etc.. .put in...Returning talent?? Cumberland will struggle one more year at 0-10 before moving to 3A and an east region. Coffee Co., Will do good to break .500 Warren Co., maybe not a fluke, but the QB was EVERYTHING. He's gone and so is the 5 wins, Cumberland, Dekalb and Bradley will be there only victories.

I'd be pretty PO'ed if the Athletic director made the decision to replace b/c he felt I needed more time with my family. Did anyone else read that Horse manure of a quote in the Tennessean?

I like Dan Brooks, great person, good speaker, good person to sit and talk about football with....tired of seeing him at every clinic I go to talking about the same things. Thought Scott Smith was interesting, I would like to see some out of state guys instead of local college/HS. Would love to see a mix of Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama etc... coaches speaking.

Your on some wacky weed. Goodpastures facilities are 2nd to none. If Rankin leaves Riverdale...why go to metro? Pays not any better and everyone knows metro is a nightmare to coach in. Retire, go to Georgia, draw TN retirement and make $80+ a year...no brainer if he has his 30 in.
