  1. The Darrin Slack QB Academy will be held at Soddy Daisy High School on June 24-25. The cost is $125 for quarterbacks from 7th grade to 12th grade. Contact Kraig Campbell @ 423-413-2577 or fbcoach4@yahoo.com. You can also go to www.quarterbackacademy.com to get registration forms. Great camp for all quarterbacks.
  2. One of the best all round players would be Tracey Barnett from Boyd Buchanan in the late 80's. Good catcher, good SS, and very good with the bat. Won two state championships, 87' and '89. Could have played at the next level, but decided to play basketball at UTC where she was an All Conference plalyer as a freshman. Very good athlete.
  3. If Blackman wants to look elsewhere instead of within, they really need to look at Ron Gray from Oak Ridge. Great offensive minded coach who deserves to be a head coach. Should have gotten a more serious look at Oak Ridge, but they obviously wanted to go another route and bring in fresh blood. He was the reason they went on to meet Riverdale in the semi-finals. Oak Ridge put more points on Riverdale then anyone else last season. He averaged over 40 points per game in the toughest 5A region in the state last year, as well as playing D-B twice. He deserves a shot if they do not want to look at their own two coordinators. Good luck in the search. Campbell or Gray, you won't go wrong with either one.
  4. Coach Campbell had some great seasons at Martin Westview going to the semi-finals one year, only to get beat by Brentwood Academy I believe. Took Chester County to the playoffs for the first time in the history of the school in 92 and 93. Ran into some ruff times at Warren County (who wouldn't). Warren county probably has not won as many games as they did when he was there since he left. He would do a great job as he is a great PR person within the community. Hope people seriously consider him.
  5. Gary Orr did participate in the camp last year. He also participated in the camp in middle school while in Florida. He is a good example of what comes out of this camp.
  6. The Darin Slack QB Academy out or the Orlando area will be at Soddy Daisy H.S. on June 24-25. The cost is $125 for QB's in the 7th grade to the 12th grade. For more information, go to Coach Slack's website at www.quarterbackacademy.com, or call Kraig Campbell at 423-332-8828 ext. 3306 or 423-413-2577.
  7. The Darin Slack QB Academy will be held at Soddy Daisy High School on June 24-25. The cost is $125 and is open to 7th grade to 12th grade. This will be the second year at Soddy Daisy. Coach Slack is considered as one of the best QB coaches who runs his academy out of the Orlando area. He was an All-American for Univ. of Central Florida in the '80's. He does a great job not only teaching the fundamentals of throwing the football, but also the mental aspect of the position. This is a wonderful camp that everyone that wants become a great QB needs to look at. This is the only QB camp that he puts on in the state of Tennessee. For further information, go to his website at www.quarterbackacademy.com or call Kraig Campbell at 423-332-8828 ext. 3306 or 423-413-2577. Wish everybody a great spring pratice!
  8. is the Ooltewah game still on tonight?
  9. AAA - Soddy Daisy; if they do get beat by Beech in the first game, they will be hard to handle the rest of the tournament. They should take care of business with Beech though. AA - Lipscomb A - Would love to see Boyd Buchanan take it, but I think Goodpasture will repeat. DII - Baylor
  10. Goodpasture and Boyd Buchanan back in the finals for a second year in a row. Goodpasture will come out on top again against my wishes. Too good of a pitcher. Good luck Boyd Buchanan!!
  11. what time will the game start?
  12. The cost is $125 for the two days. It will finish up on saturday right before the dead period starts on Sunday. If you want more details, go to the website or contact myself or Coach Orr at the previous stated numbers. I will be sending out information to the Chattanooga area schools over the weekend. If any others would like some information sent to them, call and let us know.
  13. Darin Slack's Quarterback Academy website is www.quarterbackacademy.com. This will be a great camp for your qb's. This is the first time Coach Slack has brought his camp to Tennessee. His camps are usually held in Florida, Ohio, and Indiana. Great opportunity to learn from one of the best in the country.
  14. well said the only ones that would be contributing are drew and phillips this is thefatgi
  15. TSSAA referee looking for games to call in the middle and east tn areas. District and region high school experience. E-mail me at fbcoach4@yahoo.com with dates and sites if you need some help.
  16. It does cost an official to officiate. You have state dues, local dues, and have to pay for summer camp. With that being said, it can cost well over $200 just to get on the floor. You throw in the cost of the uniforms, it's not cheap. It can take up to 2 or 3 weeks of games at $65 a night to make up for the cost. To say that referees are in it for the money is a little stretch. As stated before, gas, travel time, automobile maintainance, supper (after the game) on the road, these are cost that they have to face. A referee might make it home from a 4-5 hour night with $30-$35. You do the math. They can make more money working a night at Lowe's or Home Depot. Most refs really love the game and enjoy being out there with the players. Since people pay there money to go to the games, they have a right to their opinion and can express it if they choose. Some refs can tune it out and some cannot. They are suppose to. Yes, there are some referees that need some work. Alot of refs do the extra work necessary during the summers with aau or yboa ball, some don't. Refs get evaluated by the TSSAA without the refs knowing they are there, and will never know in most cases. This is how they get the refs at the state tournament. The good ones are rewarded for their work. The bad ones will not get as many varsity games if there are some young ones that are doing the extra work. If you have never officiated before and enjoy bashing them, try it and see if it is easy or not. You may have a new found respect for the men and women in stripes.
  17. how has Snyder been doing this year? She is one of the hardest working ball players that I have ever seen.
  18. how did Olivia Snyder do in this game. I haven't been keeping up with her as much this year. What kinda year has she been having?
  19. Yes, even though Soddy Daisy girls did lose to a good Bradley co. team Tuesday night, you shouldn't count them out of the picture. Their win against Cleveland certainly was NOT a fluke; it came from hard work, focus and heart.
  20. How is Olivia Snyder playing so far this year? She is a great ball player and I hope she has a very productive season. Good luck to her and Cannon County this year.
