Henry County beat Rossview 17-16 in 8 innings. Rossview blew an 11-2 lead. Both teams hit, but neither pitched well... deep into both staffs. Henry will host Beech; Rossview will travel to Mt. Juliet.... again.

According to National Federation rules, a balk immediately causes the ball to become dead. That is different from many other rule sets, but that was the correct call. Under other rules (MLB, and even NCAA, I believe), the offense has the option of taking the balk or the result of the play. As for the appeal... National Federation now requires an appeal. It can be a verbal appeal from the coach or a player. Two or three years ago, that was changed. Before, the U had to make the call for a missed base, no tag, etc.

For the second day in a row, the 10-AAA tournament was postponed due to rain. The losers bracket final is scheduled for 2:00 today at Dickson with the championship to follow. If Dickson County's field is unplayable, there is a possibility of the games being moved to Rossview.

From District 10-AAA: Rossview qualified along with either Henry Couny or Dickson County. Those two play in the finals of the losers bracket and the winner will face Rossview for the championship.

After a slow start, Rossview High's head coach, Jason Rice has really come on with the fungo. His pre game shows have been great. Grounders are placed perfectly, and fly balls and liners to the outfield have been right on track. Fly balls to the catcher, to close out shows have been right up the chute.
