  1. After 30 years of coaching, publicly whining about where the referees come from is beneath him. Chattanooga's refs are arguebly (Well, isn't everything on CoachT?) in the state. Does he want refs from only Memphis to call his matches? After all, Nashville is kind of close to Clarksville and K'ville is kind of close to Cleveland and Chattanooga. Memphis is a long way from Cleveland but closer to Clarksville, so they might be more biased towards his boys. We might be able to recruit some refs from Georgia, but they're closer to Cleveland. Kentucky would be an option but, frankly, the quality of high school wrestling there is not that high. Maybe, hold the duals in Cleveland and he could bring refs from Clarksville.
  2. Here's the quote: ???Not one time have we wrestled in the state duals where we didn??™t have a Chattanooga official,??? Jordan said. ???All I ask for is to be fair. I mean of course I??™m biased, but I just want it to be a level field. I hate to say anything about the officiating, but it just wasn??™t level.??? I don't know if Ward Gossett is liberal and since he's from Chattanooga, he's probably not a Democrat. The fact that Jordan's teams enjoy a perpetual home advantage and would complain about where refs are from shows the man aint short on nerve. He won't get much sympathy from the rest of the state but I'll give him an A+ for effort.
  3. I have conducted an unscientific poll of the behavior of athletes, students, fans and parents: 90% of the time the constituents of the losing institution point out bad behavior of the constituents of the winning institution. I'm asking for $10 million from the Stimulus Package to study this phenomenon further.
  4. I just want to get this straight; Jeff Jordan has perpetual home court advantage and also wants to pick his own referees? Seems very reasonable to me. Can the TSSAA also reward them an extra 6 points per match for the incovenience of sleeping in their own beds? Maybe the TSSAA will be awarding a new trophy next year: The Jordan Whining Award. He has set the bar incredibly high.
  5. It started in the Fall of 1949 when Luke Worsham committed to teach and coach at The Baylor School for young boys. He demanded excellence both on the mat and in class. The tradition of quality of wrestling in Tennessee high schools, both public and private, is his legacy. As far as how Baylor stays on top of its game is attributable to all the factors you mentioned.
  6. We've been known to "claim and glorify" Ringgold too. Being the "Vatican" of high school wrestling, we lay claim to schools up to 90 miles from Chattanooga (AKA Vatican City). We consider their coaches "cardinals" who attended "seminary" here. Usually, there's some kind of coaching connection (in some societies a coaching connection is considered closer than blood) with Jim Morgan, Luke Worshem, John Farr, etc. In fact there are several schools in Atlanta we "claim and glorify" because Apostolic delegates coach there. Of course Chattanooga wrestling is first recorded in the Old Testament: Chapter 32 of Genesis and Chapter 12 of the Book of Hosea. We've been winning championships a long long time!
  7. The first title was 1968. It was in the New Gym, Al had not invented the internet, Whatley was still just Pez, the Bradley boys were still just wrestling farm animals (not a reference anything else but wrestling) and Baylor and McCallie were in Hersey Pa at the prep school nationals.
  8. (mostly from some irish guy who I don't think was 100 percent sober). A very understandable redundancy. Who knows the whole story of the misinterpretation?
  9. I assumed the Jello would attract him. There's always room for Jello.
  10. You need to address question to bigguny and Cameroon. They seem to know all sorts of confidential information not only about the kid and his family but about Baylor as well. It's uncanny. You might want to get the last four digits of his social security number and his bank account info while you're at it.
  11. OK, I give. EFT - Electronic Funds Transfer, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Electronic Field Trips, Energy Financing Team, Every________Thing? Can ND 4peat? The REAL Irish make it 6 (count the traditionals) and move back to DII for some competition because it's getting boring.
  12. Truer words were never written in all CAPS!! We need some bumper stickers: "Wrestlers for Healy"
  13. Not a Baylor graduate which might account for the misspelling.
  14. That can't be! I have it from an unimpeachable source, the always reliable Cameroon who, "hears that the boy is indeed going to Baylor while living w/ a guardian in Hixson". Have either one of you guys checked this out with the Pinkstaffs. They've got to be really confused at this point: They don't know whether young Mr. Pinkstaff is staying in the Cameroon guardian's house or in the house bigguny has for them. By the way, are they going vote for Healy or Littlefield. This might help them: Healy was a National Prep School wrestling champion. Since you two know them so well, they'll certainly be looking to you for advice on how to vote.
  15. And I'm hoping Santa comes twice this year - Baylor and the rest will sort it out.
  16. Wow! You're really using the internet for all it was meant for. You get to anonymously slander both Baylor and a young man that I doubt that you know at all based upon "hearing" it from a source you won't or can't identify. You get to also throw in a reference to pleadings by a sleaze ball trial attorney (sorry to be redundant) prior to a trial. Great job you weasel. I'm sure you'll be turning in all this evidence to the TSSAA because you're concerned about justice. I think I remember you from Iraq. Weren't you the guy who wanted to bayonet the wounded?
  17. Maj would be dissappointed also but I guarantee he'd agree with me about allowing girls to wrestle. I'm outa here. There are two camps: Those who know that allowing girls to wrestle is perverse and those who liked watching Jack***. Pick your camp.
  18. I did help with your spelling but I was suggesting that there would be a high correlation between folks who enjoy watching girls wrestle and those who used to watch Jack***. As for who are jack***es, I'd say parents who encourage their teenage daughters to wrestle might fall into that description.
  19. Jello and mud are sexual? If you say so but if my wife asks about it, I'm denying knowing anything about it.
  20. I can't remember having this many All Americans in the college ranks at the same time. This could be a function of increased quality of our high school wrestlers or the fact that Title 9 has destroyed so many college programs. I imagine it's a combination.
  21. Not a reference to cheating. I was pulling for BA in the lawsuit. I'm a BA fan unless they're competing against my people.
  22. You mean "sophomoric"? As in, "It is sophomoric to use multisyllabic words when you don't know how to spell them". Yeah, I know I'm talking about someone's 16 year old daughter who is letting her make a spectacle out of herself but what the heck, a lot of folks used to watch Jack*** too.
  23. That's an old reference to a relatively tiny school which wins and ungodly number of state championships similar to the way tiny East Germany (remember when there were two?) won an ungodly number of Olympic gold medals. I'm assuming you're pulling my leg regarding the reference but for those born prior to the fall of the wall, it was worth the explanation. And no, when I was wrestling I don't think BA even existed and if they had existed, we would have beaten them like a rug.
  24. Does girls wrestling fall under the DI and DII classifications and which venue do they use, Jello or mud?
