  1. Several DII teams have proven they're not mutally exclusive objectives. The worst is not being able to spell, not winning and going to jail - kind of like being a UT football player! BJ, please consider your alternatives before it's too late!
  2. And speaking of BA, does anyone have something definitive regarding the suit? Please, no conjecture, opinion, conspiracy theory, etc., just facts! I can call my buddies at BB&S but they subscribe to silly professional ethics and won't divulge anything.
  3. Home game for BA. 28-7 last game. Same old, same old.
  4. Very good quality. For some inexplicable reason FR's first TD kept freezing and I would have to reload. My speculation is that the monstrously blown call on the fumble that wasn't (it was dropped pass based upon your great camera work) had something to do with the technical difficulty.
  5. Violence. That's the truth.
  6. Wow, that is a serious problem with making statements that are impossible to prove. Technically, it wouldn't be impossible to prove if one side of the argument would do the "manly" thing and schedule a game. Of course IF a frog had a glass bottom, he'd only hop once.
  7. I have to put in a plug for Red Etter. During his tenure at Central the TSSAA website attributes 6 Litkenhous or Litratings recognized state championships to his teams from 1946 to 1965. This website http://www.class61.com/etter_record.htm credits his teams with 9 championships from 1946 to 1964. The disparity arises because the TSSAA didn't sanctions playoffs (actually not to dissimilar from what we have now with 8 "champions"). His 1973 Baylor team was the state champion and recognized nationally as the top team in the country. All of his championships were at the highest level in Tennessee football. His teams rarely played Podunk High from Itsy Bitsy County and often travelled out of state to find competition - kind of like DIIAAA teams do now.
  8. Now wait a minute. If he wants to be the new head coach, he'll have to follow procedures. Go down to Broad, take a right on St. Elmo Ave., take a right on 38th, go in the building on right and ask for Mr. Guerry. You'll have to ask him about the job.
  9. Could of left Coleman in and scored a few more TD's. When you have Coleman and his receivers the stats don't necessarily reflect the game. McCallie ran 8 plays in the first half and had 3 TD's. If you just looked at the stats and didn't know the score you would assume Baylor was dominating. It was just a matter of time before the dam broke and Cooper gassed.
  10. Reggie Mathis (ND) was not on either list but a starter for two year career with the Saints. A Chattanooga Times ranking had Reggie high on its all time best list with a description as arguably one of the best atlhletes to come out of Chattanooga.
  11. Seems like we have some apples and oranges here. We have players who had outstading careers in high school and didn't produce in college (Riggs, Flanagan, etc) and players who went on to great things in college and or the NFL and add luster to their college carreers.
  12. Well shute yeah! That's why thars just as many gradeates from West-North-West State Community College running Fortune 500 compnys as frim Harvard and Yale. And eberbody nos them good communtiy colleges have pruduced thar share of US Presdents. 1 of them IV leage edjecations is really overvalued. Jest look at all them UT football playrs that aint been rested yet and r selling used trucks.
  13. Can't keep awake that long. If this piece of "news" had originated from Deb, it might be more believable.
  14. You're confused. The Owls. Prime and Sargeant, have it on double secret authority that Potter is leaving to coach at "B" high school. And since they have something to do with Ooltewah, they must know what they're talking about. I heard one of their neighbors is a third cousin of a guy who mows the lawn outside of Bill Cherry's office and he overheard a phone call between Bill and the current AD at BGA where Bill was the AD before coming to McCallie. The guy at BGA goes to church with a guy who knows a teacher at "B" and he heard coach "F" say that he sure would like Potter to take over when he becomes the head of the TSSAA. So even though I'm a soccer fan, you can take this to the bank!
  15. You're kidding! All this time I thought it was about soccer. Isnt' Ralph the soccer coach at McCallie?
  16. Baylor's moving to N'ville to find more public schools to play? Boyd Buchanan is moving because of the high number of Church of Christ members in N'ville?
  17. Darn, I had no idea "something reasonably intelligent" for posting was a criteria. Apparently 90% of the other posters haven't received the word yet either.
  18. Considering the last serious offer and near acceptance (this was from the offeror's mouth) was David Brainerd Christian, I don't think money is his main consideration.
  19. Big Jacques? Oh you mean the Walker Valley graduate. Eligibility must have ended before school ended.
  20. I think Massey added a lot to Baylor, primarily his son and a more wide open offense. Wonder if they'll put a tackle in the back field this year? Last year it was good for a touchdown and a hundred yard interception.
  21. The Hannahs, White, Dicks, Mathis, Smith (Ed) - know that's not 10 but got to go.
  22. This must have been how that Rome/Constantinople thing started!
