  1. Cooper has a 100 yards and two TDs in the first half. Wears out in second half. BA by two TDs.
  2. From McCallie's website: TSSAA Football Playoffs McCallie receives a first round bye as a result of completing the regular season as the #1 seed. On November 10, McCallie will play the winner of the Christian Brothers/Father Ryan game. The semifinal game on Nov. 10 will be played at Finley Stadium to insure a good playing surface in the event of rain. Regardless of the game site, this is a TSSAA sponsored playoff event. No passes can be honored. TSSAA receives 50% of the gross gate receipts and each participating school receives 25%. Tickets will be available at the McCallie athletics office beginning Tuesday, November 7. Playoff brackets Now, of course, if you're into conspiracies you won't believe this and will attribute McCallie's decision to some perverse Machiavellian plot that involves Bob Corker's election and TT's defeat.
  3. What's that mean? DB was grossly overrated because they were able to get through the season undefeated by avoiding competition?
  4. Once you've cleaned that up, how 'bout working on grammar and spelling?
  5. You probably also believe that there was a guy on the grassy knoll. Do you really think Bill Cherry and Potter think enough about Temple to spite them. TT's not on the radar. There's a predicition of rain for Friday and McCallie didn't want to mess up their field and scheduled Finley. And I won't have to go out on a limb and predict they'll attract a lot more paying fans and if you're Frank Burke and would like some of your money back, that's a compelling reason.
  6. UNCFan13 who is reluctant to refer to himself in the 3rd person because that habit is a sympton of serious psychosis believes TT wins in a laugher and suspects some TT fans are trying to increase the spread in order to up their bets. He suspects that betting is frowned upon in the TT community but also knows of one or two bad habits his TT friends have become proficient in, one of which is bragging! Chattanooga and UNCfan.... I mean I are proud of TT and really appreciate you sending your basketball coach our way.
  7. The quality of your broadcast is extraordinary. I'm going to ask the McCallie media guys to contact you.
  8. Actually, HE's probably the only one who can settle it but HE's got bigger priorities.
  9. Thanks! Since I've never made a post that wasn't "relevant, insightful and in furtherance of the topic" I'm in great shape. Now for the topic at hand. McCallie and BA slowed Cooper down significantly in the second half but since MUS isn't McCallie or BA, I'm betting on Cooper to have a 200+ yard game and to win by two TD's. However, when Baylor plays BA, Cooper will wear down in the second half after playing both ways and carrying half of BA's defensive line every time he touches the ball. And because of this, BA's defensive line will be chasing Massey all over the backfield in the the second half. BA by two TD's. The problems of a short bench.
  10. I'm trying to remember the ground rules about posting to a "Baylor" string after signalbirdie scolded me for posting to "their" Lincoln County string. Seems like if signalbirdie brings up McCallie in this string, then it would be OK to respond. I'll have to defer to Chattcity who seems to have CoachT etiquette down, so here's the question: If signalbirdie makes an asinine statement regarding McCallie as in "McCallie couldn't stop Cooper", then could a McCallie fan post to a "Baylor" board or could you be a MUS fan who is sympathetic to McCallie? I'll quit typing so you can respond.
  11. Does Maryville's scoreboard register triple digits? Another one of those highly competitive DI playoff games.
  12. Baylor's weakness, at least against McCallie, was Cooper went both ways and supplies over half of Baylor's offense. Come the third quarter against a team with depth, he can't keep it up for the duration. This isn't meant to be a criticism of Cooper who is an outstanding player, just an observation. Good luck against BA. Oh, that's right, Baylor has to play MUS first. Baylor by a bunch.
  13. Great camera work. Watch the clip with the first FR TD. Either the film is faster than reality or the ref blew a dropped pass/fumble call. Both the announcers got it right.
  14. HELP! Getting the following message: Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct. My computer problem or server? Joel is Mr. Everything. He has pulled hamstring. Be that as it may, sounds like FR gave it a great shot. Good luck in the playoffs.
  15. Nothing actually, just an observation about a new CoachT record for fewest FR posts prior to an athletic event - any sport.
  16. I've been meaning to ask, how's Rush?
  17. "This ground has been plowed" "This dead horse has been beaten"
  18. 1.2. Always take a knee in the final moments when the game has been decided. This has as much to do with strategy as sportsmanship, thanksto a 1978 game known as the "Miracle of the Meadowlands." The Giants led the Eagles and were running out the clock when quarterback Joe Pisarcik opted to hand off rather than take a knee. He botched the exchange, the ball bounced to the turf, and cornerback Herman Edwards picked it up and went 26 yards for the winning touchdown. This rule in Tennessee from this year hense forth will be known as the "Riverdale Rule". And it also started the saying, "Never underestimate the contribution the opposing coach makes to your victory".
  19. To paraphrase more than one high school coach, "90% of the problem is about PT, the other half is political". There's always been a dearth of math skills among many high school coaches. In all seriousness (or with as much seriousness as high school sports merit), coaching is a lofty position. Coaches can have an incredible positive influence on their charges. On the other hand, they can have just the opposite affect. The problem is that winning and losing don't necessarily identify which is which.
  20. 450 against McCallie and if they had kept running they might have won.
  21. I'd respond with something like "Oh no, they're not" but Signalbirdie has DQ'd me from Baylor topics.
  22. Played, graduated and played for neither Ralph or Pete but played against Pete when Brainerd was (were?) the Rebels. And they were very good.
  23. If you lived in ________ County, wouldn't you want to claim Chattanooga.
