Since you asked, There was one face to face with the coaches. Followed by letters and phone calls. Both were the results of attending camps. As you the middle school kid, He should go where he is zoned. PERIOD. If he was "zoned" for either school, It is the parent's job to get the facts for each school. The middle school coach should stay out of it. He may be offered a high school asst. job for getting a kid at a school. The sad thing is that Baylor, Mccallie, ND, etc. do not need to do it. Every one that has not lived under a rock knows they are great academic schools for the kids. Anyway, forget that. For your info, my daughter played soccer at Covenant College. Also was 4.0 student. Son made 27 on ACT, and is 3.75 GPA. Both could have gone private and didn't. Maybe you're the one that is jealous. Like I said, chill, I was just answering his question

As for your info 64tn and sc3, I have seen over the last 5 years about 10 of those teams. I have also seen Maryville. I am not even a Maryville fan, But they are as good as the 15-25 teams. No, they cant hang with the best of the best, but they are top 25 caliber. Don't diss until you know the facts. Do you really think there are 93 teams better? There is not. I have seen alot of teams in the last 40 yrs. Maryville should be in the top 25. Anyone who thinks otherwise is less than intelligent.

I have two. #1 Trey Smith, SD Def End. Broke a foot at camp and has not gotten to play yet. Worked off his arse this past year. Put on 30 lbs. of muscle, was killing people in spring. He will be ready in a week or 2. #2 Joel Slater SD Free Saftey. Coaches asked a 2 year starter at corner to move to FS to run the DB'S. Now he is loving it and tearing the heads off receivers how dare come to the middle. Both SR's.

Sure would cut down on travel. We have to travel to Knoxville and Maryville. That is ignorant. There would be plenty of teams here in Chatt. for region play if there were only 4 divisions. It would sure cut our booster club costs. [Edited by mrsoddydaisy on 9-23-02 10:26P]

Some of that crap is none of your business, but I have lived in SD all my life and would not go anywhere else. Talk smack all you want. I have seen prob 400 high school fb games and seen many, many coaches at many schools. I may just have a little experience on you. I will take Glen over Coquitt any time. I have seen them both in action. The best coach in the area right now is prob at Ooltewah. Football is a game!!! Thank God our coach has "Life is more important" attitude to teach our boys. AMEN
