I Played football under coach Greene and know that he is a fine coach. As a graduate of Blackman, I am asahmed of what went on concerning the school's actions in this matter. Blackman does not deserve a coach as good as coach Greene.

these large private schools dont recruit the best kids from middle class neighborhoods to help the kids out. They do it so they can say that their schools are better than public schools. The man and his money are trying to hold the people down and I am fed up. If you people dont think Flatt recruits now after he took his case before the supreme court then youve all got blinders on.

I have heard from the source that Brentwood Academy is trying to scout several murfreesboro middle schoolers. I wont reveal the kid (who is one of the scouted) or the school he goes to to protect him, but it is a pretty dispicable thing to do for BA to try and draw players from an already thining talent pool. BA weve got your number.

if blackman is beaten baddly by Ba it is not the worst thing that can happen. Yeah, it is bad, but it will at least let them know where they need to be when the season opens. Last year they got beat in sevral scrimmages, but they went on to have a great season. you only get good by playing the best.

I believe that the best team in tenn history was the 69 or 70 murf central team. I think they had 19 players signed to scholarships. Second would be 94 Riverdale, and 3rd the brentwood acc. team that beat riverdale in the mid 90's for the title

call me crazy but this plan seems to favor the small schools. If the small schools dont have as good of a season(which is the case many times) then they still go to the playoffs over a bigger school who may have won more games. If the smaller schools are going to play with the big dogs then they should have to beat the bigi dogs.

why would any one want to change it from haloween? Playing on haloween seems reasonable. it would keep alot of kids off the streets and out of trouble

those northern kids cant play ball like they do down south. give tn a shot. there are plenty of kids from tn playing college ball.

Riverdale beat mba in the 99 scrimage. I was there. They lost in 2000.

Am I the only person who remembers the first DNJ article on Blackman that called them a "handful of misfits"? I must be. Give credit where credit is due, to the coaches, parents and players of BLackman football.

I am sick and tired of you arrogant people from Riverdale and Oakland saying that Blackman's success was due to the success of Riverdale and Oakland. Just because a player played at Riverdale or Oakland as a freshman and transfered to blackman does not mean that the success of Blackman was due to those players playing at other schools. Many of the people that left Riverdale and Oakland were kicked out of the Weight room and not allowed to lift, which is understandable, but it proves my point that blackmans success was not spawned by riverdale and Oakland.

Ela, Just because Varsity Blues shows the darker side of high school ball in a comedic way does not make it a bad movie. It was entertaining, so I like it. If you think that stuff like in that movie doesn't go on, then you have been living in a closet. Not all coaches are good men, and not all players are good guys. Varsity blues is more realistic than Rudy. do you really think he made that sack?

7-3 regular season

I didn't like the program. It was pretty hokie( excuse the speliing of hokie if it is wrong). Rudy is by far the best. It shows us what we are all capable of. I liked varsity blues for the comedic value. Lets face it, even though not every team stages a mutiny, every one on every football team has made fun of their coach at least once.

Dont forget BHS is a tough place to win. Only a couple of teams have won there in the 3 years since it has opened.

Why are you speculating about the coach at Smyrna. Do you have first hand information to back up your statement about the Smyrna staff? If you don't, then you should stop making statements that could possibly hurt the credibility of the coaching staff at SHS.
