  1. The seasons coming up, so what do yall think about this district? Who's looking good? Who do yall think will suprise some people?
  2. Laura Matthews from FRA is another good keeper, leading her team to last years state championships and recording (correct me if I'm wrong) 11 shut-outs along the way.
  3. I hate to say it, but being an FRA student, I know we would have fans doing the same thing. We have some pretty obnoxious fans as well, but hey those are the best kind, lol.
  4. Coach McDonalds only recruiting device is his brilliant coaching. Girls see his team continuely getting better, and they want to be a part of this rise. They know that in order to get better, you need good coaching. And Coach McDonald is a great coach. They do not go out and recruit, they let their play on the field attract players for them.
  5. Im not trying to start something, but how was it a fluke? They beat Ridgeway, who many considered the top contender in a very well played match, and then won the state championship in possibly the most exciting game ive ever seen. If you are referring to the goal at the end of regulation, that was skill. The ball was played brilliantly, and Jenny Phillip made a nice leap to head it in. If youre going to say that, then you could say just about any victory is a fluke.
  6. Because hes still a winner. He hates to see the game messed up by officiating, no matter the score. You cannot argue that hes a class act, especially if you have had the opportunity to speak with him. I played for him my freshman year, and he was by far the best coach I've ever had, and he knew how to develop players. He criticizes, but does it in a constructive manner.
  7. You can be so annoying dude...
  8. Does anybody think that the addition of these two All-Stars will have the same effect that the Trailblazers had? Where there just aren't enough shots to go around and the whole team becomes one big underachievment? I personally don't think it will because Malone and Payton are both winners and will do whatever it takes to get the ring, but this will be the first time for both of them that they are not one of the main options. What do yall think?
  9. Oh ok, Im sure thats why they went undefeated.
  10. FRA was there and they went undefeated as well. They did this despite losing one starter the first day with a dislocated shoulder and playing the last day missing three more starters for other reasons. I don't think Nashville Christian was there, but I know Forrest, Watertown, Trousdale County, Hampshire, Lexington (AL), and Dresden were also there. I don't know about Westmoreland being "easily the best of the bunch", FRA, Forrest, and Watertown were all pretty good. I know FRA and Westmoreland did'nt play each other, but I wish they had, because it would have been a great game.
  11. WOW....great tournament showing. Im really impressed....Congratulations Gomab, it seems like your program is beginning to gain national merit as a true force to be reckoned with....Again, congratulations on another good tournament showing
  12. Im a point guard and I dont know who his son is, what age group is he? I wasnt playing dirty, I ran through a screen because the guy threw his shoulder into me, which is dirtier than what I did. His players were playing dirty the whole game, giving me elbows, illegal screens, etc... They all whined and complained as well. Maybe he is a nice guy, but on the court, he is a Grade-A you-know-what. Thats all Im saying, Im not questioning his character or anything. And, again, sorry I have no clue who Colombia Central is, if theyre not Class A I really dont care about them because we wouldnt be competing against them.
  13. And no, Ive never heard of Colombia Central
  14. I do know McBee's history, because he gave me a lecture on it after a game during one of those ridiculous outbursts. In another game in which I played against him, one of our players foulded a Bullet player hard, not meaning to but none the less doing it. McBee stood up and told his players that if our player touched the ball, to kill him. And after the game, he yelled at the players mother and then tried to get in his dads face (the dad stands something like 6"11). That doesnt seem to be for show or to get the crowd up or to let the refs know hes on to them. Thats just being a jerk. Sorry I expressed my opinion, and sorry I dont know anything about basketball, I hope its still OK for me to post in here
  15. I dont think McBee would be one, because he loses his cool WAY too easily. And even though he has been coaching for a long time, hes not as good as he thinks he is. He considers himself the basketball God. He is a good coach, I agree, but not one of the best. On the other hand, I think Tony Sowell of the Tennessee Thunder organization. He teaches perfect defense and knows how to develop players. It was him that taught Alex Renfroe of Hume-Fogg to play the defense that he has become known for lately. Hes a good strategist, but hes one of the best COACHES of the game that Ive ever played for.
  16. FRA = 2000, 2001, 2002 team state champs Austin Weaver = state champion i dunno how many times David Ford, Chris Estopinal, and Chris Michael = top 10 (i think) - A fan of the FRA X Country team
  17. Not to mention the three straight Track and Field state championships his school has won....so a lot of teams probably would try to mimic them
  18. Considering Coasterboards team has used their schedule and won three sraight state championships with really nobody coming close, I can see where hes coming from
  19. Can anyone tell me how points are awarded in the decathlon? I know its based on performance, not where you finish in the event, but what is the system for it?
  20. I'm saying FRA all the way. Theyve got so much skill, and despite what their keeper thinks, a lot of heart too. When you add the incredible coaching of Ken McDonald, best in the state in my opinion, you have a team that shouldn't lose. But, when you get to this level, anything can happen, so you never know....
  21. 27-35??? Is that physically possible?? Thats 77%!! Are you sure on those numbers?
  22. I think G.J. ran a 51.3 at the Buster Relays. Im pretty sure thats what I heard the timer say after the race, but then again I may have heard wrong.
  23. In A/AA G.J. Hudgins from CPA has got to be one of the best around. The kid isd a freshman and is running sub-52s. I know from experience, because hes smoked me twice already.
