TMSAA has specific rules concerning middle school football.
1. If your team is not a member school then none of this matters.
2. If your team played 8 regular season games then they are only allowed 1 postseason game.
3. A sanctioned middle school team can at most play 9 games.
4. A sanctioned middle school team can only play one post season game. (Even if they only played 7 regular season games)
5. There are no state playoffs for sanctioned TMSAA schools.
6. Revert to #1. Eligibility rules for players such as transfers, age, grade repeaters and games played do not apply.
So.... if your middle school team played more than 9 games and they are sanctioned then they are in violation. If they are not a member school then they could have 16 and 17 year olds out there playing. Either way there is no such thing as a TMSAA middle school state champ. You can call it what you want but its only on paper. Hope this helps.
*Just checked. Crestview is indeed a member school. I hope this doesn't nullify any post season championship. Hopefully their record was at best 9-0 or they only played one game after the regular season.
