    MBA

That was a great post flyby..good comments and great sarcasm..have a good mark
  3. yeah, that's not very intelligent. most private schools that I know of don't start before 6th or 7th grade. If we went by that formula, no one would be able to play..next solution please?
  4. Bowman really didn't deserve it this year. He did nothing against any quality opponents, and as soon as someone double or triple covered him, he was rendered helpless. Either of the other two would have been a better selection. As for Moore and Dunlap, Ryan did plenty to earn his award, and Lineman includes offensive line where Dunlap was dominant. Did the guy from CBHS even play both ways? Anyway, no one will ever agree on who actually earned the award and who didn't, so don't cry over spilled milk..
  5. the long and the short of it though is that Ryan has the award and Fisher doesn't. I hate to say it, but I was shocked when I heard that Ryan had won because I thought that Fisher had by far the better season. Think about this though, I'd be willing to bet that the Nashville area and the Memphis area have far more votes than the Chattanooga area. Ryan did plenty earlier this season to deserve the award, and take into consideration that he was playing every down and trying to carry the offense by himself towards the end of the year. He didn't have a great offensive line in front of him this year, and he lost his best running threat when Wayne Fullam got hurt. On top of that, he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet, so stop with the sour grapes. Maybe Fisher will win next year.
  6. from what I've seen of Bliss and Vaughn over the past 3 or 4 years, they were both very deserving..Wes, I'd guess that you're probably right about the Middle Tennessee vote being split. Auburn is very lucky to have the two of them and Dunlap coming down here next year. The kickers should both contribute immediately and do well, and Dunlap will most likely end up on the defensive line in a couple of years..congrats to all of the winners!
  7. did either of those other kids play absolutely every down for their team? Ryan did at the end of the season. He kicked, punted, and played LB and did very well at all of it...congrats Rookie and good luck next year!
  8. why can't Germantown, BA, Riverdale, or the winners of 1,2,and 3A be considered?
  9. then let them come play in D2 AAA and get spanked by BA, MBA, McCallie, MUS, Baylor, CBHS, and sometimes Father Ryan week in and week out if they don't want to play in the "puny" D2..If Boyd Buc, Ezell Harding, and CPA think they are so great, let's see them stand up and play one of those teams
  10. yeah, Cloudland is the best..hey sure showed that to Boyd Buchanon last night...good luck at state Bucs
  11. This has all gone way off from the original message, and it's all really funny..to go big red, all I've heard about what happened when McCallie played up there is that that's what they've always done up there..I didn't see it, so I don't know. Anyway, to try to end this whole thing, MBA is not the best team in the state this year I don't think, I saw the first game against BA and they were completely dominated (I would call it a massacre, but call it what you will)..congrats on coming back and taking care of them at the Clinic Bowl. I always love to see an underdog win. Can this whole thing please come to an end now? It's taking up a lot of Coach T's server space for no particular reason...
  12. I haven't read all 9 pages of this thread, but I've read enough to get the jist of it. As a kid who played at a Super Seven school last year and was on need based financial aid, all of the talk about that on here is pointless. All of the teams in D2 AAA freely admit that they give that need based financial aid to kids who have the intelligence to be at their school, but don't have the money to afford it. The TSSAA keeps a very watchful eye over all of the financial aid, nothing happens that they aren't aware of. I had to sit out the first game of my senior season because my financial aid paperwork wasn't filed correctly. I was by no means an outstanding player, but the TSSAA keeps an eye on everyone. MBA had a very ggod year, but I don't think that they were the best team in the state. They got massacred by BA the first time they played, although they obviously avenged that the other night, and I'm surprised that no one from Knox Catholic has gotten on this thread yet and spouted off about MBA almost losing to them. A team with 3 or 4 losses, I can't remember how many they have really can't be considered the best in the state. If I had to rank the top 5 teams in the state it'd probably look like this.. 1. Maryville 2. Germantown 3. BA 4. MBA 5. Riverdale

    finley stadium

last week I was there for the LFO playoff game. It cost me 5 dollars to park, and the concession stands were pretty outrageous..small, crappy, cold hot dogs for $2.50, hot chocolate for the same price..if you go, be prepared to shell out some cash...
  14. How could I forget that Vandy is in the SEC? Yeah, I guess they are far and away the best academic school in the SEC, but then again, when was the last time they won the SEC championship?
  15. I'd venture as far as to say that Auburn is the second or third best school in the SEC as far as academics (definately behind UGA, and maybe Florida)..if he's looking for academics, he certainly isn't going to end up at UT. As far as Riggs, I've met both he and his father. They are really great people, but Gerald JR. was not all that he was cracked up to be. He had one long run against McCallie when we played him last year, and I don't think he did anything major against Maryville, although he got pretty banged up against McCallie, which affected the rest of his season. He'll be good, but probably not great. Here's something for the Joe guy that shows Gerald's supposed toughness..his season ended because of a broken finger. We all know that running back can play with a broken finger, look at Tiki Barber the season the Gaints went to the Super Bowl..he played the entire season with a broken hand and played well. Everybody who plays football hard most likely breaks at least one finger in their career, but they get over it and play anyway. The pros are different than college ball, but still. The Chattanooga paper has covered his situation well, and from what they've said, he had lots of problems learning the offense, that may date back to his academic problems which were very legitamate (he had his own special math class at Red Bank) and he barely qualified for UT, and of course he's had the problem with fumbles. In the long run, I too would take Carl over Gerald. Both are good runners, but the point has definately been made that Gerald has essentially reached his peak, while Carl has only played 4 years and still has a lot to learn. 16. Well, here's how I see it...as a student at Auburn and a big fan of the team, Carl's shot at playing next year will be pretty small if he doesn't change positions. Look for him to red shirt. We've got 3 great running backs right now, Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown are Sophs this year, and Tre Smith is a true freshman. All three are very capable runners, and it's going to be hard to get the three of them enough carries..let alone another fine back in Stewart. I don't know a lot about Carl..how big is he? If he's big enough, he'd have a decent shot at fullback, although Ronnie Brown will probably move there next year. It's a great dilemma to have as an Auburn fan to have three proven running backs, and several others who were great in high school, but haven't gotten their shot in college yet. It will be interesting to see how Tuberville uses all of the talent he will have next year!! War Eagle!
  17. no, it's very hard to put this BA team in the top 5 ever..in fact impossible, but I'd say that they were probably a better team than BA has had the past few years, at least talent wise..good luck to everyone next year..untill then, for the most part at least, rhino's out of here..it's been fun talking crap with ya'll all season!! (I know I won't stay away long, but whatever...)
  18. Wow..Congratulations to MBA!! Who would have thought that they could have beat supposedly "the best team ever"? (thanks for the quote puplelion..how's the crow tasting these days?). I'm curious, how did BA get 11 points (mathmatically, how is that possible? A TD and 2 safeties? A TD without a PAT, a FG, and a safety?). I'm sure both teams played hard, and I bet it was a really fun one to watch. Just a thought, not meant to poke fun at anyone, but BA, pretty much year to year the most consistant club in the Super Seven still has yet to win a Super Seven title..who'd have thunk it?

    Best trainers

I always kind of thought panfan was a pretty decent trainer..even if he did get almost as grouchy as the old man a few times...

    Best Kickers

I feel your pain brother...Kody Bliss only hit a 61 yarder on us. It didn't win the game, but it still hurt. I think he also had a 70 yard punt that was called back due to a holding penalty against us, and we didn't return a kick off all night. Come on, you've got to do better than that...
