I don't mean to sound paranoid, and this may be perfectly on the up-and-up, but this post bothers me, since we really don't know if it comes from a legitimate source. Discussions like this could possibly take the focus of the team away from the game and place it on the team member being discussed...not a good thing in the playoff season. I really think that inquiries from official-sounding individuals need to be between the individual and the coach, not placed on this board in an essentially anonymous fashion. Apologies to all if I'm going overboard on this.

Okay folks...the following is for amusement purposes only!!!! Here is my carefully compiled list of the top 10 public 5A football teams in Tennessee. My analysis is based on the typical stuff like points scored verses points allowed, schedule strength, etc. The chart shows a bar for each point that kind of gives you an idea how consistently the teams ranked on the various criteria I used...so in theory teams 3-6 are competive with each other, but team 3 and team 7 aren’t...in theory. Obviously in the real world all the teams are competitive, and Team 1 and Team 2 won’t necessarily show up in Murfreesboro in December. 1. Lincoln County 2. Germantown 3. Oak Ridge 4. Riverdale 5. Brentwood 6. Jefferson County 7. Franklin 8. Dickson County 9. Antioch 10. Dobyns Bennett So...if I get lucky and my analysis just happens to match up with reality, Lincoln County and Germantown will meet in December. Germantown will get there by beating Bartlett, Whitehaven, White Station, and Brentwood/Franklin/Dickson County (I have no idea which one). Lincoln County will get there by beating Oakland, Smyrna, Riverdale, and Oak Ridge. It’s interesting to look at the paths each team has to the championship game. Germantown first meets up with a top ten team in the semi-finals. Following the 1st round, Franklin, Brentwood, Dickson County and Oak Ridge are playing nothing but top ten teams to the semi-finals. Lincoln County plays one top ten team to the semi-finals. Remember, this is for amusement purposes only. In reality it don't mean diddly. More on this as it develops......

I'll keep plugging along...I've been trying to get on Riverdale's site with no luck - apparently it's down at the moment.

Does anyone know if past regular season schedule and score information is available on the 'net (coacht goes back to '01)? I'm looking for the regular season opponents and scores of the 5A state champions for the last 10 years (not the play-off scores). Absolutely. They lost in the first round to fourth-seeded Dickson County (who went 5-4 in the regular season) 14-21, after going 10-0 in the regular season and outscoring their opponents 432-66 (Lincoln County has outscored the opponents 466-75 this year). Coach Thompson is no doubt taking this season one game at a time, and I'm sure he's doing his best to impress upon the players that there is only one game that's important this week...there's only one game that matters. I thought the Jets offense played well, especially in the first half - they kept our defense off balance and scored early. They ran a couple of plays that the Falcon defense had a hard time adjusting to. Also, the Jets have some sophomores and juniors with alot of potential - they'll contend for the region title next year. Way to go Falcons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know, folks.... I know that Germantown has had a hard time getting past regions 3-6 in the past, but those past 9-1 or 10-0 seasons weren't made against other strong teams. Massey's and unapproved website ratings show three teams in the top ten that Germantown beat! I would be VERY careful about dismissing the Red Devils chance to make it to Murfreesboro in December, especially if my team had to play them between now and then.

Well, certainly the Falcons SHOULD win this one handily, but.... It's all about probabilities. Odds are the Falcons will play like they've been playing, and will take care of business. However, if they come into the game with their minds elsewhere, and have alot of penalties and turnovers the Jets will beat them. So.... Stay focussed Falcons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a lot of teams that could upset Lincoln County (Cumberland Co. among them). I also think the Falcons have been improving, especially on defense, but they are not unbeatable, and they need to play their best every Friday night until their season ends...if they play their best I think they have 7 games left in that season!!!! I think they'll have it for the first three games, the last one probably against Riverdale. IF they make it past the Warriors, then they'll travel to either Kingsport or Oak Ridge (my money's on Oak Ridge) for game four, and IF they win it they'll play the final in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Latino.... There are two polls that could reasonably (reasonably means logically, thoughtfully, not stupidly) be called coacht polls (you said "lc may be ranked no. 1 in the ap polls but on coach t polls they are no.2 behind germantown who are 8-1"). The prep ratings poll is not a coacht poll - it's Earl Nall's poll that one can access from the coacht website. Both of the polls that could reasonably be called coacht polls ranked DB #1 at the time of your original post. I find it amusing that you would call other people idiots.

The Falcons are Number 2 behind Dobyns Bennett, not Germantown, on the coacht poll. That obviously will change the next time CoachT resets the poll. Also, we generally don't call folks idiots on this forum.

I think they've just run out of things to say about us, so they decided to agitate us a little. Hey - they've had us at #2 behind MBA for several weeks now...I see no disrespect in that. Dickson County SHOULD win by 3......... BUT...... I wouldn't be surprised if Brentwood pulled it out...they seem to have a penchant for close games. Bottom line - I have no idea who will win!!!

remember how many starters were playing at half time against Howard. If all of the starters had been in the game and coach hadn't called off the dogs you could have double that 45 easily. Methinks that SemperFiBlue's point is that the Falcon starters won't play long enough to make the score 65-0...IF the Falcons dominate Coffee County (which is not a given!), then Louis Thompson will call the dogs off before the score gets that high - just like he did against Howard.
