  1. Well, just got my Tennessean and see where Mr. Lockridge has picked us to lose by giving up more points in a single game than we have all year. I guess he was looking for an upset special. He did this one time earlier in the year and got burned. Bet he would be terrible at big ones contest.
  2. Bernbaby.... I happened to be standing about 5 feet away where the so called racial slur occured. There were NW football players mouthing with some of the fans. I am in no way blaming anyone from NW. They didn't start it. I don't believe any of your players did anything wrong. It did not involve any of the WHHS football players. They were all in the dressing room by the time the mouthing occured. The WH coaching staff was advised of the situation and returned from the dressing room. They confronted the trouble maker and sent him packing. They are not invited back this friday. NW coach was outside and our coaches apologized. He accepted, gracefully, and stated he knew WHHS had a class program. I don't know if a racial slur was used. I didn't hear it and I'm not denying that it happened. I was there and I was listening. Matter of fact, I was looking for someone (police, principle, coach) to tell. When our coaches came out, I told them they got the right guy. Unfortunately, there is an idiot in every crowd. We have our share. WHHS,to my knowledge, has never had a problem with this in the past. Please accept my apologies. The trouble maker was sent on his way. He is not invited back. I don't know what more we can do.
  3. While I don't know John personally, I did meet him at one of the games.(Don't remember which one) Yes, he said he had a bunch of kids. Lives in Texas. Wonder if any play football?
  4. HoosierDaddy (Momma).... I'm sure I probably know her but probably will have to find her in an old annual to jog my memory. Did she go by Loraine or maybe Lori? Did she have a nickname? Well, just finished watching the Preds lose another one. Thanks for the kind words and I also want to wish the Bobcats good luck in their home game.
  5. Josh.... You are what White House football is all about. BDP FOREVER!!! I'm glad you are that confident because the team that survives our brackets needs to have some luck. I just hope to get by a good Tullahoma team this week. Whoever makes it out will have to beat teams that are just not used to losing. It does take that kind of confidence. I also appreciate the kind words. All I can remember is a skinny kid who wanted to play football. I still don't believe he has learned to use all his strength. He has a few times. See you at the game. Believe it will be a good one.
  6. Hillwood.... College decisions going to be made after the season is over. I can tell you that he has not been officially offered a scholarship yet. We have several kids that are being looked over. Hillwood, give me your sources, if you don't mind. We have been quiet about colleges because you really never know how those types of things will turn out. Look back in this thread. My prediction is there. I never predict stats. White House moves the ball around to several players, so teams cannot key on one individual. Guess there is no secret to my name anymore. [Edited by dandy82 on 11-6-02 10:43P]
  7. Thanks, Coachhard. I didn't know. Relatives usually keep a copy of that paper for my wife and me if there is anything in it. I take the Gallatin paper. Fester, I'll be the first to congratulate your team if you can beat us. I may be wrong, but you won't shut us down. [Edited by dandy82 on 11-6-02 4:44P]
  8. Everything you listed is a HUGE advantage to privates. I have no problem with any of that. They get the best and brightest. I think that is the American dream. My problem is those who complain that there 1a school could compete day in and day out with bigger schools athleticly. If they believe this, then move up a classification. I believe a private education is the best you can get. I love school choice. The alphabet schools are ahead of the curve academically. That's great. No problem. Just don't complain if you don't want to put your athletic abilities on the same level as your academics. I believe this now belongs in the public- private board. See you there.
  9. I could care less about the lottery, but you people who think it is the answer to higher education are wrong. Ask Georgia. Their knee high in debt because their lottery can't cover their educational costs. What do you think they will do? Be prepared to see the cost of tuition go way,way up. Sure, it will pay tuition, but that is only about one-half the cost of a college education. What do you think colleges will do? Some of you need to go back to school(maybe paid by lottery?) and take an economics class or two.
  10. In any given year, Schools from smaller classifications could compete with larger schools. All runs in cycles. The reason 1a-2a couldn't compete on a regular basis is the sheer # of students to pick from. It's easy to argue in this venue that your team could compete. If you really thought you could compete year in and year out, then move up to 3a or 4a and play. There is no TSSAA bi-law that says you can't. Some of you can't even win a state championship in your own division, but you think you could compete with Overton or Hillsboro. That is probably the funniest thing I've ever read. So step up to the plate. Prove yourself so I don't have to read this pathetic dribble from a bunch of wanna bees!Call your school. DEMAND TO MOVE UP A COUPLE OF CLASSIFICATIONS.Compete with the big boys. The most gutless of all these teams are the alphbet teams. You have certain advantages, but you hide in 1a because your school is small! What a joke!!! I can respect a Trousdale county. They don't have to compete in 3a, but they choose to. Be glad they do because none of you could beat that 3a team! I have seen firsthand when a program has to move up a classification because of school size. In 3a, we were normally not really challanged until the 3rd round of the playoffs. In 4a, we see good athletes on every team, even the teams with poor records. We still win, but instead of playing some3-7 team in the 1st round, we get a 9-1 team that finished 3rd in their region. We are 9-1 also. Please post who your 1st round game is against. So quit whining or move up or, better yet SHUT UP!
  11. White House has been in playoff mode for the last several games. I believe this should give them an advantage for this game. Had tougher games at the end of the season. Tullahoma is averaging around 30 points per game and the Blue Devil starting defense gives up about 6 per game,8.1 overall. Something has to give. Offensively, the Blue Devils have found a way to score against some pretty decent teams, who were also fighting for their playoff lives. Conclusion? White House is a playoff tested team. I believe the Blue Devils will be able to get to the corners in the running game, creating some big plays. We have found a way to score in the 20's each week against good teams and believe we will this week.Tullahoma is obviously a good team, better coached than most teams we have played. If they can score in the 20's, they deserve to win. If White House doesn't give up the big play, I don't see that happening. Blue Devils-23 Wildcats-13 Of course, I'm biased!
  12. O.K...... It's late and I'm tired. While the conversation has been good, nobody has made a prediction on this game! I'm going to sleep on it and make mine tomarrow. I know the Blue Devils will be victorious, just don't know by how much. Should be close.
  13. Hey Slim589, thanks for the kind words. This is another typical Blue Devil team. Maybe not the biggest, not the fastest, not the strongest, but don't tell our kids that. This team has come together like many of the Blue Devil teams in the past. I'm so proud of these kids. With the situation between the Robertson Sumner split, all the hard feelings, not knowing if we would keep every player, there were many distractions surrounding this team. Very emotiomal and trying times! But BDP kicked in!!! Kudos to the coaches!! Hope to see you in the Boro. Our region (Hillsboro, Overton,Pearl Cohn,Tullahoma) has to be one of the toughest brackets in 4a football. Whoever comes out of this will be battle tested. We're not the favorites, but I will NEVER,EVER discount BDP!!!!! Good luck to Blackman. They have accomplished a lot in there short history. 5a is also tough around here.
  14. Neyland.... If we don't get everything operational, you'll also have to bring a stopwatch to know time left in game! Food is good! Atmosphere is better! Football is great! Love Midtn. website. I think I already have Tullahoma's players names memorized. Great job!
  15. HoosierDaddy.... My initials are D.B. My picture may still be up at HHS.(haven't been in the new school lately) If no one can guess my name, I'll post more clues later! Man, this is exciting! I feel like I'm part of a game show! WHATS MY PRIZE! WHATS MY PRIZE!
  16. HoosierDaddy.... I knew you were just kidding. I have a sense of humor, unlike some of the people in this format. Hope you see this. Wanted to get away from other thread. I want to see all (that includes Beech and Springfield) the local teams do well in the playoffs. When we do well, we make a statement that the best football is played just north of Nashville. I also believe, even though we beat up on each other, it prepares our teams for the games ahead. Most of us have either played or scrimmaged each other, year in and year out, and it makes us better. So while we may poke, scratch, fuss, taunt, trash talk, jab, cut, nag (Well, at least I do all these things) each other, bottom line, we all win. Unfortunately, it's against each other at times. So now we get to take our frustrations out on other teams, so maybe, just maybe, we can beat on each other again!
  17. Fester, like I said before, we sound like the same type of team. This should turn out to be a great game. How many times do you get the opportunity to play a team that operates just as you do?
  18. Slim589....We may know each other because I have lived in the White House area for many years. Actually graduated from HHS in 1974. Moved to White House soon after. While my first name does have 3 letters, my screen name, DANDY82, is my sons # on the WHHS football team. Since I think he is Dandy and I was called this at times, just seemed to be a natural. I would leave you my e-mail address, but I've made way tooooooo many people mad in this format! Look me up at a game, if you come to WHHS football games. I'll be between the 45's, standing in the back.
  19. HoosierDaddy..... We scrimmage Gallatin almost every year so I know how good they are. You guys at Greenbrier get to find out how good Beech is next year. Actually, you guys will probably beat the stew out of them. Before you play them, go back to the Dandy dictionary so you can make sense out of their posts. Good luck this friday. We need all the local teams to bring a win home. (This includes Beech)
  20. blackandbluedevil..... You missed redmoron and loveofduhgame, but, hey. nobody's perfect.
  21. Congratulations on a good season and earning a home playoff game. Lets take it to 'em and shock the world in the 2nd round! Your friends in Blue Devil land.
  22. Mynameis.... I hope your defense isn't any quicker than most of the teams we have played. Our side of the region has a lot of speed at linebacker and in the secondary. That is usually where most Nashville teams are strong. We have also faced so many fast running backs that I have lost count.
  23. Fester..... I could probably use your words and just plug in the names of our players. We have a defense that is quick and aggressive. I believe we are giving up around 7 points per game. Most teams haven't been able to run the ball on us with any consistancy, and when they try to pass, our pass rush has been pretty good. Seniors in the defensive secondary, and are battle tested. Offensively, we are a running team. It will be no secret what we will be trying to do. Most of the teams we play are bigger than us, but we have been able to win the physical battles. Looking forward to the game. On paper, we look like the same type of team.
  24. Depending on the weather, I'll also be wearing a blue shirt with our logo (helmet) on the pocket. Maybe a Blue Devil pullover. Heck, if it's cold enough, maybe both! You're right, I can find you easier.
  25. P21.... We want to forget. But if Beech and Gallatin play each other again we want to be able to communicate. GWAVE1.... This should help. descent=decent an=and yall=you all u=you lil=little (not sure about this one) brake=break feild=field expecially=especially (actually proud buc fan was this close) done=down machinve=machine beach=beech Also add periods where you believe they should be.
