  1. Lipscomb won either 54-49 or 52-48 one or the other. Either way it seems as if the almighty District 7AA is not so powerful this year.
  2. Wilson you are pathetic. A few points.....1>I doubt Lipscomb is too worried about losing money or their fan base. 2> Brilliant coaching by Pickens. 3> I would rather watch a team stall every so often to try to get a W and consistently win +20 games a season than a team who runs and guns and has a few sweet jams a game and go 4-20 and lose in the first round of the district tournament. But then again I would dive on the floor, or take a hit, or make a good fundamental pass then throw a behind the back turnover......thats just me though.?
  3. Difficult loss for Lipscomb, great win for Lenoir City. Both teams continued to fight until the end. Mista was once again tenacious on the mound and showed a lot of heart. Lenoir City has some great hitters who were making contact, so many of the 8 walks were either intentional or safe pitches. Megan fought out of two or three bases loaded situations. Have to hand it to Lenoir City today, they put the ball in play when the needed to and came up with some great, albeit lucky, defensive plays. But what is the old saying..."I'd rather be lucky than good any day!" Today, LC was not only lucky, but good.. Question is, can Lipscomb fight their way back into the championship game? These seniors remember when Gibbs lost to Lipscomb the first game of the tournament during their 8th grade year, only to fight their way back to face Lipscomb in the championship games and beat them twice to win state. I know they have the ability to overcome the obstacles before them. Good luck Mustangs!

Lipscomb plays Creek Wood tomorrow in the second game of the 10:00 session. Is any Greenbrier players coming down at all? HEADS UP!!! saving lives, one life at a time.

The Lipscomb vs. East Ridge game was an awesome game. I have never seen a team with batters 1-9 make contact on Mista, even though she ended up with 18K's. This East Ridge team was tough and a great test. The Lady Mustangs proved that they have some D behind the great pitching. If Lipscomb plays like they have been, I think they have a good shot at winning it all. Lipscomb has a great group of senior steppin up when needed. If they can keep hitting and get a few strung together early, then the best pitcher in the SE will be hard to beat. Good Luck to the Stangs in Mississippi! HEADS UP!!! saving lives, one life at a time.
  6. WOW! I am a little surprised by the score. Although I did predict Greenbrier to win, you just never know at this level of play. WV must have some mighty good sticks. Any details to the game would be appreciated. Congratulations to Greenbrier on a great season! And congratulations to WV on making it to state.

From the kid who yells at the games, this was an unbelievable game. It was that much better just because neither team got put out. Even though most of Greenbrier hates me, I really hope that they win because it is always a great game between us. If Lipscomb and Greenbrier do what they should I believe they will both win. Good Luck to both teams. HEADS UP!!!(saving lives, one life at a time)
  8. hsfball, I believe the Friday sectionals for Greenbrier-DL match up with Walker Valley-Grundy Co. Just like in softball, winners play at home losers hit the road. I don't think anyone wants to have to go into WV. 39-2 with their losses coming from out of state opponents (or so it appears).

BIG win for the Lady Mustangs. I unfortunately had to miss the game due to work but will be there for Wed. and Fri. games. Should be a great game Wed. I am excited to be a little closer than I was at Springfield. Mista is will be getting stronger the further the Mustangs get. Good Luck and the K's will be ready along with ther yellin! HEADS UP!!! going to Lipscomb i would have to say Lipscomb will win ther third meeting but let's be honest that will be the third of six maybe more (at least there's a chance). The only way that will happen is if DL and Greenbrier keep winning, and thats hard especially considering the district they are in. I'm jus hoping that lil miss Libby and RD can lay some aluminum to leather. I will say DL is ready and poised to make a run for the state title. They only lost there 2nd basemen and leftfielders which have been filled in nicely. Mista is a year stronger with more pitches. A solid backup just in case. And DL is starting to hit. but as with any sport you have to have luck with skill. Also how long will the tourney take and how is it set up after the first day?

if the tournament is anything like it has been in the past, the first round games will be held at the higher seeds field. The winner of those games move on and they will play at Springfield and it is not double elimination BUT if you win the first round game you are guaranteed to go to Region so after the first round the games are more or less for seeding in the region. does anyone know where region is?
  13. Excellent game and atmosphere. Portland must have shut down the town because they packed the gym. Lipscomb was out in full force as well, unfortunately our girls team had to leave at half time. #33 for Portland played very good defense against McPherson. Game was close until about 3:00 minutes to go in the game when Lipscomb went cold shooting and Portland was able to get a 5 point lead. Lead was extended to 10 as Lipscomb was fouling late. Brewer's last second shot at the end of the 2nd qtr seemed to really give Portland confidence that they were able to carry through the second half. Portland earned the win tonight, and Lipscomb has nothing to hang their head about. (I did it again, posted on Anthony's screen name) Post actually by khopkins.
  14. Predicting this is as easy as winning a million from McD's/Brewer monopoly game. Another words next to impossible. MLK is the front runner but if Springfield plays like they did against DL on Fri they could pull of the upset. DL is a good choice but they haven't been the strongest road team in the district. Portland is a really good choice because their fans get loud and Brewer steps it up when it counts (38 in a State game last year). Alex and Bernard are hard to stop. Station Camp plays as hard or harder than anyone night in and night out. East Lit can get rollin and Greenbrier is as talented as anyone. Most will say MLK but no one really knows

bem71957- I guess when David Lipscomb was runner up at state in '92 and State Champions in '93, '94, and '97 they must have had another Megan? Lipscomb will be on the radar for years to come. They might not have an SEC pitcher but they will be talented, well coached, and smart. Anyways the question wasn't can they do it next year, but can they get it done this year. I believe they can. They are a much improved team this year than last year. Everyone knows Megan, but they don't know about the girls that got a year experience of playing at the high school level. Christine will come in and give Mista a rest every now and then. As said earlier they got a BIG bat with Libby rejoining the team. Also some might have forgotten Lindsey Haislip because she was hurt last year, she will add some speed that DL so desperately needed last year. Plus the seniors will have them focused when needed You also can't forget the fact that hsfball got a year of cheering/annoying opposing players, and hopefully we can add a few more and get really loud.
  16. I think all the games start @ 6:30. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The whole tournament schedule is in the Tennessean today.
  17. I can't wait Alex. We both have to get through the first round though! This district isn't even fair. We all should make it to Regions.
  18. We ALL know lilal can't guard Corey anywhere on the court. jk Alex. you play mad D.

With Portland beating Station Camp, they Clinch a first round home game for themselves and Hume Fogg. So we know that MLK, Lipscomb, Hume Fogg, and Portland all have games at homenext Tues. The question is where will everybody end up and who plays who. If East Lit wins SC is 5th, East Lit. 6th, Greenbrier 7th, Springfield 8th, and Macon Co. 9th. If Greenbrier wins, it is a tie for 5th between them and SC, and East Lit would be 7th. Now for the higher seeds. If Lipscomb wins they Clinch 2nd. If HFA and DL lose Portland and DL tie for 2nd and HFA is 4th. If Hume Fogg wins and DL loses it is a 3 way tie for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. If DL wins and HFA wins, HFA and Portland tie for 3rd. If DL wins and HFA loses, then MLK-1, DL-2, Portland-3, HFA-4. GOOD Luck!
  20. If anyone knows anything about this game please post. This is one of the key games in determining the seeding in 8AA.
  21. hsfball and 2Aguru, lets leave this topic alone. You've said more than enough. Good luck to Greenbreir the rest of the year.
  22. Way to go Corey. He deserves all the attention and honors. He is a great player. I wonder if he will get 8AA MVP?? jk ....Never thought I would be guarding a McDonald's All American. Good Luck to Corey on his entire career, just not to much short term luck if I play him.
  23. hsfball, i don't know where you got the idea they were related but i told you or your gal no way do they look the same. They are both short thats about as close to anything as they get in looks. and I guess we will just have to be that much more loud if they have our number in softball. Keep fedding it bogus because could use the motivation. Anyways back to basketball. Good Luck to all teams in 8AA.
