Come on now the officiating was just as tough on our side. A lot of talking was coming from the cavs side along with some pushing and shoving. Those late hits were made by one player and only one player do not say that our team is the dirtiest you've seen. The cavs also had a knack for blocking in the back. Hats off to Mosier, after those hits (that were late) he was obviously favoring his left arm and looked like it was hurting him pretty bad but he stayed in on O and D the whole game. It was completely an offensive game and both teams suffered from turnovers. I thought Page defense stepped up in the 2nd half forcing 2 punts...unfortunately our offense couldnt produce quite like we did in the 1st half. Pretty exciting though, a lot like '01's 1st round match up. Advice for the cavs, it was obvious that you all thought Page would be a push over and its obvious you were wrong. If you go to Greenbrier thinking that you will not win. Greenbrier is a very good team and it's going to be interesting seeing Herndon and Williams on the same field after all the talk about who's better. Congratulations on your win.

wow....Thats twice that asmodeus has come on here bashing our region. I guess if that makes you happy but remember, page isnt the only team in the region..although thats great board material for the locker room, its great for greenbrier and sycamore (the other 2 teams from region 5-3A that are still in the playoffs) Asmo im gonna give the cavs the benefit of the doubt and assume that your a freshmen and think that your being funny....but if the whole team thinks the same you will not make it past week 3, and quite possibly not tomorrow night. If your going to bash a region, take a look at the brackets and see who's in round three. and see who's packin their pads

Page scored 59 points in the first half.....which do you think would be over the top?? 59 points...or insulting a team by putting 3rd string in after the 1st quarter?? When page scores 35 in one quarter, and 24 in the next?? thats not being classless or over the top its playing football. besides it was 3 weeks ago why is anyone even talking about it.. sportsguy....you've gone beyond not giving page credit, all season you have been dogging page....you seem to think that we're just about worthless. I don't really know your reasons for those posts but it sounds like a personal problem that you need to keep to yourself. Craigroc....posting stats like your doing is not for "interesting conversation" your posting condescending remarks along with them implying that page is no match for crockett. How bout Crocketts schedule being the 2nd easiest in all of 3A??? Just thought it would be interesting... to everyone, if you have predicitons on the game, thats fine thats what the post is for. If you want to discuss strong and weak points...thats what it's for. But don't mindlessly talk about how page cant handle crocket or how all of crocketts stats over page are "interesting" those posts aren't necessary.

one other thing, to ham, looking on the internet at our o-lines average weight wil tell you nothing. Page's o line is extremely talented and well coached...Take a look at rushing yards?? last i checked a back doesn't go too far with out someone to make a hole.

CC is no doubt a very good football team, and they may be over rated...being 11-0 might not be too hard to come by when you have the 2nd easiest schedule in ALL of 3A.....but 11-0 is 11-0....Marshall is over with, in 2 days Page has our shot at CC and everyone will just have to wait and see what happens. But Page is not looking at CC as an over rated team, Page is looking at a team thats 11-0 and ranked 2nd in the state. I don't really see why this thread is necessary, it's pretty simple, Crockett's 11-0 and going to the second round of the PLayoffs, and it seems that most of the posts on here are coming from teams that lost to Crockett??? How bout we wait and see what happens friday night before anyone is "over rated"

Very glad to see 3 of the 4 of our reg go to the second round. Would have been pretty cool to have marshall there too but unfortunately not. Looking forward to this weeks games, Sycamore and greenbrier will be a game to see and it's obvious that Sycamore has really become a team to be reckoned with over the second half of the season. As for Page and Crockett, well everyone that was there in 01 is itching to get back. Should be interesting. Big congratulations to all region 5, and let's try to get one of us three to the 5th round

Congratulations on your win cavfan, looking forward to a rematch of '01 playoffs with Crockett. But 3 out of the 4 Reg 6 teams lost last night. And 3 out of 4 reg 5 teams are going to the second round. You're all thats left and you've got some ready-to-go teams waiting.

Way to go sycamore! After our game i heard the news and couldn't believe it, and now seeing that it was a come from 17 behind...that shows a lot of heart. I guess these 5-3A teams that "can't bring it" brought it.

I made a previous post on this thread sticking up for crockett against a PAGE fan who i thought at the time was wrong in his accusations of crockett's arrogance and cockiness. Obviously i was wrong. Bulldog i now completely agree with you, although it is most definitely possible that this was posted by a bench warming freshmen who doesn't know what the word class means (if thats the case, then no disrespect to the rest of the team.) But if not, if that really is how most of the cav's team think, then i feel sorry for them, because playing a 5 3A team with an attitude like that is going to leave you with a 1st round loss...at home. I personally hope I'm wrong because I'd love a game with crockett.

Michael Motley from Page is one of the best kickers. He only kicks off and 90% of his kicks go in or beyond the endzone. The last 2 regular season games he has been inches from kicking it through the uprights several times.

Well like i said on a previous post, Crockett hosted Page in the 1st round 2 years ago and it was with the upmost respect. Theres always going to be 1 or 2 trash talkers who have no real say when the actual game comes up, but the actual Crockett team i believe does respect the teams they play. I'd be pretty confident myself if Page was 10-0. But i also think that region 6 may possibly be overlooking region 5 as a whole and think that somewhere next week there's going to be some big surprises that region 6 won't be expecting. And to set the record coming from first hand whitnessing, Just before our spring practice last March, We were recorded on everything, bench, squat, incline, cleen, and a few agility drills INCLUDING 40 yd. sprints. Jared Elliot ran his best, a 4.58 40, on his 3rd run. If you want to be technically stupid you could say he ran a 4.6. But a 4.9???? Saaaaadly mistaken. An assumption of 4.9 should be tossed. I ran right beside him. He had the fastest of any on the team. Now he's not the fastest on the field for Page but Elliot is the better QB. Garza is extremely talented but he doesn't have quite the skills on the ground that Elliot does. Yes he's quick but Elliot is a much harder runner, never scared to give a hit while carrying the ball and that always gains him those extra yards.

Is Page reaching its potential at the right time. Right before playoffs Page has put up 114 points in the last games and has only allowed 21. That 21 points was against Montgomery Central and they only scored 7 points against our 1st string defense the other 2 touchdowns were on our 2nd and 3rd string players. And last night shutout a good offensively sound Creekwood that stayed around with Marshall County 28-20. Page could be peaking at perfect timing.

1. In reg 5 MC probably has the best return special teams (davis) but Page has the best kicking game. Motley puts the ball out of the endzone 90% of the time, crowley is money on field goals. 2. To say Elliot is over rated you have to have somethin against page, maybe a sycamore fan. Garza is a great QB just like Elliot...agreeing with cowboys you cant really compare them, sycamore throws the ball alot more than Page. Garza may be a quicker but Elliot does run a 4.5. Not bad for 6'5 210. When Elliot does throw the ball its with incredible accuracy. I'm not familiar with all of 3A QB's but I think all around Elliot has an edge as one of the best. 1. passing - Page with Sycamore very close 2. running - Greenbrier 2. special teams Kicking/return---Page/Marshall 3. Defense - can't really say

Page had a trip down there in the "01 season and was treated very well. Even after that incredible finish in the closing seconds on the GL crockett didnt talktrash or taunt anyone.

5 starters, 4 of them seniors, sat out for the first quarter. Came in 2nd quarter and then sat back down after the half for the younger players to get in.

If Marshall beats Greenbrier,and loses to sycamore, then Page (if we win our last 2 games) will still gain region title, because Greenbrier and Page will be tied in region, and though Greenbrier beat Page, Page will have the better overall record. Greenbrier 2nd Sycamore 3rd and MC 4th (if Syc beats MC)

To all the people that think Page is going to let down after a close loss to Greenbrier you are sadly mistaken. I believe you will see a Page team come out more focused and more determined these last two weeks. Yes the loss to Greenbrier was a tough one, but Page can still win region and to do that we need to win our last two games and with the help of Marshall County. I got a feeling you will be amazed when you find out the score after the game this friday.

Hats off to Greenbrier you guys played hard, real hard. That was hands down the toughest game we've played all year. You all deserved it. Take that same game to Marshall and you'll have a good ride home. However, Marshall is a very strong team and can not be underestimated. Thanks for giving us an exciting game and good luck with the tigers.

approximately 24 hours to kick off i think its about time to give it up. Dont get mad at someone else's prediction on the game. Thats what the post is for. There should be no more posts on any of the PHS-GB threads. How bout we wait till tomorrow night and see who comes out on top.

Melvin I think we should avoid remarks about class to avoid another 50 post topic full of mindless trash talk. I know you weren't talkin trash but a lot of Page-affiliated people would take offense to that. But the game will be played better if both teams just show respect for eachother. And hopefully no one from Page will reply to it because as for the team at least Page is in no way classless. Page has the upmost respect for GB and are aware of and ready for a good tough game. And we'll just see what happens friday night.

Im gonna say Page by 10, just like GB we've got very strong backs with a very capable line who can, despite the smaller-than-most size, have been doing a very good job.

Page and Greenbrier tied for first in region 5 3A, play friday night. If Page wins they have a very strong hold as region champions, if Greenbrier wins, puts them in first and gives them momentum for Marshall. What does everyone think about this game? predictions? team strengths and key players?

Sportsguy i got one thing to ask of you. Exactly what is your problem with Coach Bennett. Honestly, you down grade him for no apparent reason. You have no clue why Page doesnt play CHS. It was not Coach Bennett that said Page wouldnt play CHS. It is one thing " schedualing" when CHS wanted to play Page, Page already had a game. Then Page tried another week and CHS had a game. So there for there was no week that Page or CHS could play each other. If you dont know the story try to stay out of it.
