  1. West's defense has suffocated AC in the second half, as they go nowhere once again. West will take a knee and hang on for an 8-7 win.
  2. AC will get one last shot. 2 min to go, they've got the ball at their own 43.
  3. AC just threw their 3rd INT of the game. West ball inside their own 30 with 2+ min left. Neither team has done much on offense. Ton of penalties on both teams. AC has only had one drive, which ended up in a TD early in the 2nd qtr. West scored on a safety (intentional grounding) late in the 3rd qtr, and on the following drive, they scored a TD on a broken play where the RB wasn't ruled down on a swing pass and he kept running after everyone had quit on the play. Tough to tell if his elbow was down or not. Hall looked pretty good in the first half for AC, but he's been all over the place in the second half. He's thrown 3 INTs and had that costly intentional grounding call. Outside of the TD drive, Moog hasn't done much.
  4. West is up 8-7 with about 5 min left.
  5. West hasn't given up much outside of that one drive by AC.
  6. Panthers take care of business, 41-7. Nice to see Wheeler back out there.
  7. This LC team has a real shot at going 7-3. Never saw that coming with the off-season they had.
  8. Hard to tell. RB was hit low, and he stayed up. The question is did his forearm/elbow touch the ground. No way to tell.
  9. Welp, I think that Powell-OR-AC stretch took everything out of Clinton.
  10. Running clock ends with 11 min to play. Panthers lead 31-7.
  11. West has done nothing to challenge AC defensively whatsoever. And kudos to AC for playing aggressively on defense. They continue to stack the box, and West hasn't shown any ability to throw it down the field. AC is daring them to take some shots. AC's secondary has stayed in the hip pocket of these West WRs most of the night.
  12. Man, Central has really struggled in this one. 4 TOs already, and Powell with a 28-0 lead midway through the 3rd.
  13. Yup. Pretty evident that West doesn't have the game-breakers on offense like they had the last couple of seasons.
  14. Kudos to AC's defense. West has done absolutely nothing on offense in this game.
  15. College still gets my vote, despite all of the recent changes with the transfer portal and NIL. If I didn't have a college degree, I'd probably feel differently. I didn't grow up in (or around) a big city, so I have zero connection to the NFL. As much as I enjoy high school football and that smaller community feel, the situation that's played out over at Sweetwater is the #1 one thing that ruins prep sports for me.
  16. Should be an entertaining game, especially if Johnson is healthy. The Bobcats have handled the teams they should beat, but they've been waxed against three quality opponents (Maryville, West, OR). Powell's defense is leaky, so there will be an opportunity for Central to spring the upset.
  17. Completely agree, Dragon. I think West will play with a chip on their shoulder this week. Certainly don't expect them to beat AC by 50, but I like West by 2 TDs. I do like the way that AC is playing right now, but coincidentally they haven't played anyone with pulse on defense since Week 3.
  18. Ton of young guys got to see the field in this one. Panthers win 55-10.
  19. Wow, not sure about that play call on the 2-point conversion...
  20. Running clock here in the 3rd. Powell leads 41-10. No Wheeler tonight, hopefully he's getting a chance to rest and heal up.
  21. So Slover was solely focused on making his son "look good" without a single thought given to any other kid on the roster? Give me a break. It doesn't matter how many times these burner accounts keep trying to justify the actions of some prominent parents/fans who continue to show their collective a&&. The longer this charade goes on, the harder it's going to be for Sweetwater to come out of this in the long run.
  22. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Slover did an incredible job turning Cocke County into a playoff team back in the 2010s. The coaching job that he did there in Newport was pretty remarkable. I'm guessing that wasn't lost on the administration when he interviewed for the job at Sweetwater. Granted, he didn't have the same level of success while at Morristown East, but I still think it's worth noting. Not much else that I can add to this thread that hasn't already been said
