  1. Oddly enough, I agree with what JPATS5 is saying. Throw the polls out the window for this one. It will be one and lost on the field of honor. JPATS5, why are you down on your team? They Patriots that I saw last year in the playoffs at Kingsport would smash this OR team. Remember, OR hasn't beaten anyone either. Bearden is a much improved team, and they are better than either of the teams the OR has played thusfar. Of course, OR beat Bearden to death in a scrimmage. Time will tell. ROLL TRIBE!
  2. I am the DB fan that said stopping Booker and Guilmire is the key to a DB victory. However, that's easier said than done. I am sure that everyone agrees that is the key to a TRIBE win. Guilmire is also a nice LB for OR. I think he is on kick off coverage, punt returns, etc. The only time he leaves the field of play is at half time. I feel that OR is better at their bread-and-butter plays (running the ball) than DB is a their bread-and-butter plays (spead passing game), if that makes any sense. It will be interesting to see if DB can line up and beat it down ORs throat. I fear it will come to that. BTW, it seems that Booker has been at OR for about 12 years now. Hasn't gotten any bigger either. Is he ever going to run out of eligibility?
  3. Poor JPATS5...his great team has lost to DB for the last however many years. And, his mother didn't hold him enough when he was little. It's sad, really. To make matters worse, he said that DB didn't have anything last year. The Pats lost twice to the Tribe last year, and JPATS5's self-identity suffered accordingly. Time will tell. BTW, JPATS5, when you misspell 'stupid' in your posts, you really don't add to your credibility. In the words of the great Forrest Gump..."stupid is as stupid does." ROLL TRIBE!
  4. I have also seen both teams play, and I give OR a slight advantage due to their strong running game. However, DB has played against better competition thusfar. That will help. DB must get their passing game and Lamon Williams on track to win this game. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  5. I saw DB play South a couple weeks back. I saw OR play that alledged high school team from Bradly Co. last night. OR has a few good players, but I wouldn't hang your hopes on what happened last night. Bradly Co is aweful. Bradley Co's punter, Pickel, was their most valuable player. OR has a very nice kicker who puts it in the end zone every time. He is also solid at field goals. Last night the OR offense basically consisted of pitch left/pitch right for Guilmire and Booker. Some mis-direction. Most of the passing plays were rollout. A couple of three step drops. QB missed the wide open WR on several occassions. Stop Booker and Guilmire and you beat OR. OR defense played solid, but there were never really tested last night. Nice linebackers for sure. They seemed to make alot of plays. DB will have to play better than they played against Bearden to beat OR. I thought the Bearden game would be close. I am glad that the Bearden game was a tough game. I think it will serve as a nice tune-up game for the Tribe. ROLL TRIBE!
  6. I knew it would be any easy win for the Rebels. What has happened to Halls? Shut out by Sevier Co and Maryville.
  7. Yes, Karns won their last game last season. Currenly they have a one game losing streak. It is sure to grow, though. I think they have won one game in each of the three last seasons. I seem to remember that Red Boiling Springs had one of the longest losing streaks in the country in the early '90s. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  8. You might want to add Duran Ferguson to that list. Let's see how he plays down the stretch.
  9. DB did improve between the South and North game. I think it is a great idea to schedule a week O game every year. About the Bearden game... I go with the Tribe, as well. I'll say 24-10. Bearden ended up beating West High School in overtime Friday night. From looking at the stats, Bearden whipped them everywhere except the scorboad. The game was played at Bearden. Of course, Bearden lost to West last year. ROLL TRIBE!
  10. I stand corrected: DB 35 - South 7, at the half.
  11. Moten had a nice interception that set up a touchdown. He played some on offense, as well.
  12. South wont keep it close for three quarters. Unless 21 points at the half is close. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  13. Yes, I also think Tom Throp does a great job for The Tribe.
  14. How did DB's running game look in the North game? Thanks in advance.
  15. Thanks for the update. Keep 'em coming. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  16. Anyone know if the game can be heard over the internet for the folks who are out of listening range? ROLL TRIBE!
  17. DBalumni2000, The reason that Mears threw 5 ints in that game is because DB lacked a true TB. Why did they continue to throw the ball? Because they couldn't run effectively. DB simply could not score once in the red zone. Three field goals proves that. Jacob McMillan did the best he could at the position, but he was not a true TB. We were ever worse without J. Mac in the line up - which was several games due to injury/suspension. To fault Mears for the game is an injustice to his play throughout the season. What ever you have/had against Mears is/was misguided.
  18. You want credit for predicting that DB would not to win the state last year? If so, you are a jackass. I bet that every team in 5A, except one, will not win the state this year. Or next year. Or the year after. You downed Mears all year long last season. All he did was win the NET play of the year. Again, you are a jackass. Yeah, I remember your posts from last year. DB's one field play pretty much shut your mouth about midway through the season. Remember that? Go play in the street for awhile. Maybe a car will know some sense into you.
  19. Loved or hated, but never ignored. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  20. Susie, Hopefully, Aerosmith was referring to an altogether different type of 'muffin.' At any rate, ROLL TRIBE ROLL!
  21. The North, South and Bearden games all fall nicely on the schedule for breaking in a young Tribe team. Great tune-up games before the Oak Ridge game. ROLL TRIBE!
  22. RebelRon, I dont know about the time, but I hope you guys will give us out-of-towners an very detailed post-scrimmage report. No Injuries! Roll Tribe!
  23. Yep, this one is lame. LOL! A better topic would be who are the best assistant equipment managers in TN?
  24. Thanks for the report. Keep 'em coming. I thought that Nottingham played very well last year. Is he a jr or a sr? Roll Tribe!
