  1. Coach Brian Beaubien of DCA does a great job. Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Ron Crawford of Brentwood, and Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator David Pack of CPA. Floyd Elliot of MBA also does a great job.
  2. Sycamore is a very physical team. They have 2 great weapons on offense: Polk / Garza. Sycamore will give Marshall all they want. Sycamore's a little better in the kicking game. That might be the edge they need for the upset. Both of the these teams will do whatever is necessary to prevent a 1st round trip to Crockett County!! Sycamore 28 Marshall 20
  3. 5-3A Best Offensive line-- Greenbrier Best Defensive Line-- Greenbrier Best running game-- Greenbrier Best Passing Game-- Sycamore Best Kicking Game-- ??? Most Athletic team-- Marshall County/Page (big Play potential) Very good Region. Will make noise in playoffs.
  4. Good luck Northwest. Keep your heads up and keep working hard. Clarksville needs a winner to come out this year since everyone thought that the athletics would be cut this year. This is a chance to show everyone they were wrong to even fathom of cutting athletics.
  5. which one is it coachchris? Close game or win big. I hope you are not putting the pressure on your kids to win big. It will be a good game, but win big? C'mon. Northwest's biggest coaching job may be looming on Monday if they lose tonight. Rough schedule ahead. Good Luck. Win Big?
  6. Brian Beaubien, DCA Dennis Fussell, Dickson County

    Cheatam Co.

I want everyone on here to remember what clamchowder is running his mouth about Sycamore. Keep this in mind on Monday following their game with Sycamore. If they lose, see if he runs his mouth then. First, they have to get by Waverly. No easy task. I have seen both Sycamore and Cheatham play this year. It will be a great game, but Sycamore may have more weapons on offense. #11 for Cheatham is a great WR, but he will only touch the ball about 5 times. Garza and Polk will handle the ball every play. I like Sycamore and what they can do to defenses. Be careful Clamchowder. I'm sure Coach Findley is real happy that one of his kids are here running his mouth.
  8. I cannot believe it is already Tuesday and we have not heard from NW faithful about the big game with Stratford. This game could go a long way in determining playoff position and even more important, respect for the program at NW. According to HS poll in The Tennessean today, Stratford is ranked #7 and NW #10. Is this the respect NW has been yearning for all year? What are they going to do with it? Good Luck to the kids of NW Friday night. NW, let me hear you.

    REGION 5, 2A

Lewis County will win that region.
  10. Clarksville may upset Northwest. I am glad to see Northwest doing well, their kids deserve it after all these years of frustration, but that may be there downfall. For the first time ever, they are the hunted and everyone is gunning for them. Northwest has never been in this situation and it will be hard for the players to deal with. It may come down to who has the better special teams. Good luck to both teams.
  11. What does everyone think about this match-up? Both teams have high hopes on the season. This game should make both teams better for the stretch run.
  12. How about this matchup? Speed vs Power. Should be a great game. This game will make both teams better down the road.
  13. Should be a good game. NW needs to be careful not to come in overconfident. The game is at CHS. I am almost afraid to say anything because we might have to hear on the forum all next week from the NW faithful how they are not getting any respect from anyone. So far NW has a good thing going. Be careful, Stratford is looming, and it is going to be played in Nashville w/o the Clarksville Officials Association doing the game. Good luck to all Clarksville schools.

    Giles County

Jackie L. Smith. Has been there a long time.
  16. I think coachchris just stirred the pot created by wiseguy. Why even respond coachchris? Now we will have to hear a couple of guys, (one is coach for sure) bash each other. Coachchris, for the first time ever, your team is getting a little deserved credit. Let the kids earn it. No one on here needs to know what positions you coach and their individual stats. Just winning and winning with class is what is important here for NW. Everyone here knows that the coaches at NW are working hard. Just keep it up and good things will happen for your kids. But, remember this: "Glory is fleeting." You have some tough games left to play. Keep your kids grounded. Wiseguy, please do not get coachchris started again.

    Warren County

I agree! When I was coaching in Cookeville, we played Warren County every year. They were not very good, but they played hard and never quit. That is what it is all about anyway (How you play the game).
  18. Elitecougar77 & couga14, I'm sure Coach Jerry Pearson would be REAL excited to know that some of his players are on a forum talking smack and giving Riverdale some bulletin board material.

    Cheatam Co.

Cheatham County is playing well right now. They have had a good run of athletes the last couple of years. They are physical. I do not see them beating Sycamore or Lewis County. Should be in the playoffs again this year. Their FB, TB, and SE are good players.
  20. Eaglefan, You are probably referring to Tim Terry at RB/ LB. He was also a special player. My point about coaching these types of kids is that all the Clarksville schools have great athletes every year! Remember this, all Clarksville coaches know this (I hope), If you do not win or do things the right way, the great athletes will not play. They will go to the Y and play basketball. Coaching does make a difference. I played against NW, NE, and Clarksville high school when I played at Dickson County. For 3 straight years the football, baseball, and basketball teams I played for never lost to a Clarksville school. They would get off the bus and we would think that there is no way we should be on the same field, court, or diamond with them. But we always won. I was fortunate to play for some great coaches when I was in school a long time ago. Coaching does make a difference. Travis Stephens, Tim Terry, Johnny Bell, Carlos Fentress, and too many more to count, do not do the things they do w/o good coaching. Coach Butler did a great job, along with his assistants. But it is hard to get and keep coaches in Montgomery County because the writing is on the wall when it comes to support from the top. I hope that can change. Winning rubs off on people. Without discipline and the attitude that a kid can succeed, even the greatrest athletes will not do well against lesser talented kids who are coached the fundamentals correctly. I guess my point is that a great back cannot just take a toss sweep and expect to score without the other 10 on the field being coached correctly every rep, everyday.

    Fra football

FRA will probably finish 4th in region 5A. They will win their first round playoff game against region 6A winner. They will then have to play either DCA or Ezell in the second round. Just my prediction.
  22. Did anyone from Rossview, Northwest, or Kenwood call the scores and stats into The Tennessean last night. If so, then the Tennessean should be at fault that the score was not posted. If it was not reported, then the coaches at either school can be blamed for the lack of media coverage for the Clarksville schools. Reporting scores and stats can lead tp a little "respect" that Claksville is "yearning" for, which everyone on this forum gets to read about everyday from coaches in Clarksville. Just a thought. Congrats to all winners last night. Just keep working hard, not for just this year, but for the future of your programs.
  23. Wiseguy, Yes , Northeast had a very bad call right before hald with no time on the clock to allow Brentwood Academy the chance to score. The final score was BA 7, NE 3. NE missed 2 field goals and came away with no points after being inside the 10 one series. So you cannot really blame it on the refs. Yes sometimes, officals will miss calls, but for the most part, they do their jobs. Rick Butler had a great staff at NE before he left. Good coaching can make a huge difference in Clarksville schools, but they need the support from the top of the education administration.
  24. They have not earned respect because they are from Clarksville. I know that is unfair for the kids but everyone has to realize that a Clarksville team is going to have to consistently win from year to year in order to "earn" respect. I remember when Northeast high school beat MBA 41-14, Dickson county 38-7 (at DC), and they still did not get respect from anyone until they saw the great game with Brentwood Academy. I still get told by people who know football that was one of the greatest high school football games in Tennessee history. I would love to see Clarksville schools do well because I used to be a part of it, but until these kids get the support from the top of the administration thru the community, it will always be like this. Good Luck Montgomery County.
