We're thinking Mo'town!
-
"If Knox Central would have not fallen asleep, the Maryville Boys would be chilling at the house." Hey Homey, "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, oh what a Christmas it'd be!" You're talkin out of both sides of your mouth home boy. Talk, talk, talk all you want. Maryville will wait till Friday to make their statement. Suuuuuzzzzeeee, I 'member them purty young girls growin' up. They's just snot-nosed litlle pig-tailed girls when I was in High School. If'n yore their age, then your jus' a yung thang yorself. I used to hang out with Eric, and Jimmy over in Alcoa where we grew up. Jan was married to that fancy newspaper boy. Her little BB is a buddy of mine. I b'lieve STARS is purty f'miliar wit her too. Holla fo a dolla, Homey! Peace!
-
Ouch, Hep me STARS, I thank I stepped rat inta that'un.

Your integrity and humility just overwhelms me gillyboat. I know how constructive and classy you are. Always positive and supportive of teams you have cheered for all year. (Who taught you how to spell Trojans? Oh yea...) Suz and STARS, yuns' better cut hit out. Gillyboat is a-complainin' bout yourn's whimsicle nonsense. How do yuns' thank thu sofmores will do this week? Thar, thars sumthin bout' football. I'll get that used HUMMER ready. I got me a little one owner that Mammy drove to church on Sundays and to Buddy's IGA on Friday and to git her hair dun. Hits a niceun with only 376,000 miles on hit. We'll make hit to you for a very reasonable price.

CoachT, How did you enjoy your visit to Maryville? Describe the venue and atmosphere. Is it what we Maryville people think it is cracked up to be?
-
No arrogance intended in my statement here. Why would losing a game require Maryville fans to "eat crow"? We don't get on here and tell the teams we beat to"eat crow" (with the exception of knuckleheads like GillyBoat, JohnPaul, BillMorgan, etc.). The difference between Maryville and many other teams is Maryville walks onto the field "knowing they are going to win". Losing is not an option in their mind. They have been that way since the seventies. Many teams think they "can win". Maryville has the mindset that they"will win". If you call that arrogance then so be it. I say it is not arrogance, it is truely the way they think. Maryville will eventually lose. When they do they will take off their hat and shake the man's hand.

gilyboat seems to be MIA. I wonder why he does not want to join this spirited celebration? He must be speechless over the Maryville victory. Way to go Rebels! It is a shame that a team had to lose that game. I really felt for those young men from Central after the game. My hat is off to you Central Bobcats. You are spirited and honorable opponents. Good luck to you and Coach Helton. Rebelsman

Clipper, I'll be the one in RED and BLACK at the Maryville/Central game tonight. Look me up. I will be sitting next to a tall goofy looking guy.
-
That was what we were thinking. Eventually the three ball will cool, but it kept falling. Karns could not play with Maryville in the post. They can shoot the eyes out from 3-point land. We all know that is a dangerous way to make a living. The young Maryville team has got to get the turnovers under control. There are six football players out. Three or four will be significant contributors. And by the way Clipper, we anticipate Tyler and the boys being occupied until after December the sixth.
-
Look at the stats. What more can I say? 3 point plays: Karns 17 (Jones 3, Bomar 3, Roth 2, Fersner 3, Shipwash 6) Maryville 3 (Koontz 1, Tipton 2) Scoring: Karns - Jones 18, Fersner 21, Shipwash 21, Bomar 9, Roth 8 Maryville - Swank 17, Tipton 38, Koontz 8 Turnovers: Maryville - 22 in regulation, 8 in 1st overtime, 6 in 2nd overtime Karns - Do not have It was exciting to watch.

Best wishes and God bless coach Helton. I am glad his condition was discovered in time to do something about it. Good luck toward a speedy recovery. I wish he could be at the game Friday for his sake.
-
I know I don't act it, and certainly don't look it, but yes I am. I am almost five years older than REBELRON.
-
Come on in REBELRON. The water is fine. As a friend of mine told me when I turned forty (just a few short years ago), "You are now playing the back nine!" Happy birthday!
-
How do you win with 28.....yes I said 28 turnovers? That was the number according to Andy. I was proud of the way he played down the stretch. He has a noticeably different look this year both physically and mentally. As I stated before, we have some growing up to do. Many of our young guys were seeing the passes, but lacked the confidence to pull the trigger. That slight hesitation resulted in turnovers. We also made some poor decisions. We have a lot of good tallent. We just need some experience. Andrew Lockert and Danny Saxe looked good and will be forces to reckon with as the season grows. I wish I had stats on the game. They both took some good looks and played pretty good defense. Tyler and Andrew Hodge will be a great help. With Curtis Swank and Andrew on the post positions it will take a bruiser to control the paint. Curtis looks better than I expected. He is playing the five very well. Of course it was the first game and improvement is expected. Our guard play is going to be critical. They need to take better care of the ball and open up some outside shots to spread the floor. Fulton had a very athletic team. They only brought nine players. They really only had two good bench players. I will assume they are also waiting on some football players. I am excited about our potential and Coach Nelson is as well. He is expecting a very strong team as the season continues. We are at Karns tonight

The county school board has never been committed to athletics (IMHO). I believe that until some obvious commitment is made it is going to be hard to get a quality coach involved. The reputation and track record would not be appealing to me. I hope they get it going before the programs are lost completely. (IMHO) What do you think the public would do if the school board announced that football was being dropped in the county schools?
-
I caint b'lieve yuns have not mentioned one of th greatest football minds to ever coach in Blount County! He's rat thar under yuns's nose. He's dun coached thar b'fore and I'm shore wood be willin to coach ageeun. That would be the man what took Lanier High School through many a successful season.....Skip Murrrrrinnnnnnn. Hey Suz.....yonna' ride in my Hummer on Friday night?
-
Hoopaloosa was Friday night after the Chatt-Central football game. It was a lot of fun. We are going to have the best juggling team ever and of course the dance team is as good as ever. I was most impressed with Curtis Swank's outside shooting. He and Sarah Landers scored 17 baskets in one minute. The shooting stations are three pointers, foul line, and about 15 footers. Andy and Curtis put on a pretty good slam-dunk exhibition.

It starts at 6:00 pm, Monday, 17 November, 2003.

How many kids could have made the catch he did the first time they went to him? He made the most tremendous diving catch that I have seen in high school football. I have talked with Tyler about his touches. GQ says he has no problem with Tyler. Tyler is definitely a "teamer". He was MVP of the state championship last year because of his ability and determination to catch several tough catches not to mention the game winner. So, you tell me. This young man is not getting the attention he deserves. Not from touches, and not from college recruiters.IMHO.

Get well soon Coach Helton. I look forward to seeing you on the sidelines next weekend. God be with you.

Thank you JW. Twenty-two years of marriage to my high school sweetheart should qualify me as an expert on the subject. (She doesn't like the line about the "t's" either. I hope she doesn't read this!) Oh. Gotta go..........quit honey..........ouch..........look out for that.......BOINGK..........$#@&*...........run for your life....................it's every man for himself.............be careful, she's accurate with that thing up to fifty yards.............Heeeeeellllllllpppppp...........

Stephanie Cope and Andy Tipton from Maryville signed scholarships today. Stephanie is going to East Tennessee State on a softball scholarship. Andy is going to Carson-Newman College on a basketball scholarship. Congratulations to Stephanie and Andy! We are very proud of you both.

GB, You want some advice on women? Take up fishing instead! It is far less dangerous. Always remember this; "A rule without exception!" "If it has t!ts or tires you will have trouble with it!"
