  1. Navy, you want to be set free? NAME:_________________________. MWR, telling Logsdon to "man up"? Really? Want his address? for the less intelligent or spin-masters: Obviously, Logsdon does the scheduling, so the remark was aimed directly at him personally. The term "man up" implies that he is less than manly, thus womanly? Or just scared and cowardly? Really? You want to be set free, too? NAME:__________________ Personally, I don't, but I'm not the one trying to antagonize Killer or being anonymously disrespectful to an established, long time Coach who has loved, promoted and coached our sport for his entire adult life. How brave are you, really? You wanna "man up"?
  2. The word within the agency is that this chair at the Cleveland Duals may be the younger brother of a chair occupied by Coach Eslinger a couple of years ago in the Jones Bldg. While trying to defeat Ooltewah and earn a trip to the State duals, it was witnessed by several hundred spectators. Not once, but TWICE, this chair that had only moments earlier been occupied by Coach Eslinger himself was violently kicked backward, travelling some 6-8 feet onto the warm-up mats behind the team bench. Luckily, a young Raider wrestler was there to return the chair to it's proper place. True, not as lengthy as Walkenvols toss, but if you combine the total measurement of these three tantrums combined, we've got a close contest going. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  3. RMC, you're coming across a little cocky about Cliff's team. Let me help you out. 1- Bradley will be OUT OF TOWN this weekend wrestling in the Sawnee mtn duals in Forsyth Co, GA. If you're fixated on the Bears, perhaps you could do us a favor. Go back in the Collins Hills Archives, scrapbooks, website, etc and answer a couple of questions: 1. How many years did the Bears and The Eagles match up head to head at the Cleveland Duals? 2. What was the exact win-loss record for the Eagles during that time? 3. At what point are the Bears allowed to change their tournament schedule as they see fit and not make someone angry?
  4. If memory serves, Bradley did go head to head (quite successfully) with Collins Hill for many years at the Cleveland Duals. I'm sure they appreciate the invitation, but they will be travelling to Forsyth to check out some other Ga. competition. Cass- AAA State Duals Champions, Gilmer- AAA State Trad. Champions, Harrison- 5A State Runners up, Pope- State Duals 3rd place, Kell- 5A State Duals 4th place, not to mention Walton, Parkview, Peachtree Ridge, etc. Oh, and just for good measure, the defending South Carolina State Champions, Eastside HS will be there. I know Bradley will do their best to represent the great state of Tennessee!
  5. Don't forget Gabe Murphy's pin in the exhibition 152 lb. match!
  6. Jakesdad, Cleveland may well be working hard on all levels, but i hope that this doesn't imply that the bears are not doing the same. You, as much as anyone has acknowledged the success of Bradley, not just for a year or two, but for a very long time. This is due to their own hard work and vision. Cleveland and their booster has put together a strong staff from all over the place with the best of everything. Yes, they provide the work, but don't express the Bears to be a sitting target. They'll do what they've done for a very long time. They'll work long, hard hours!
  7. I think Sly's point is that Middle school wrestling has it's own forum. I can't remember seeing other Middle schools/Jr high teams from across the state promoting their team or it's accomplishments on the High School wrestling board. The reason is probably that it is the HIGH SCHOOL site. Probably also the reason that Coach T himself set up a "Middle School" board.
  8. Look for Knoxville and Maryville area teams to stay close to home. I think one thing the tssaa wil be looking at will be travel. Also look for Rhea and Crossville to go over the mountain.
  9. StarRaider, Thanks for the compliment. Rest assured that we are, indeed very proud of these young men and many others. Have to mention that young Mr. Creagan had an older brother, also a State Champion, named Michael who is a graduate of Duke University. (By the way, Travis is at Columbia, not Cornell) Thanks again.

  14. Could someone please tell me about locations and dates of the 10& under girls sub-states and state tournament.
  15. Has anyone heard from the Redbank coach or players about their feelings on this subject?
  16. Has anyone heard from the people at Red Bank ? Would they even play a Ooltewah team that was lead by coach Baker?
  17. Did this get taken off or have I missed it? The three foot box that you must stay in was the rule that should be changed.
  18. You make it sound as if you are a ref and you don't know the rules!!! I can promise you I am not making this up about the three foot box. I have been told by a top notch ref that he knows about the three foot box rule but he still tells the kid who is inbounding to not move so he will not be forced to make a jugement call.
  19. The rule book states that on a dead ball inbound play the inbounder has a three foot box they must stay in. I have lost a game because the man taking it out moved several feet in both directions and I was given T for making my point with a ref. This is the worst rule in basketball!!! I was taught as a young lad to keep my pivot foot on a dead ball inbound. Now the rule is a three foot box!!! This is like calling 3 seconds without a lane. I'll bet you most refs do not even know the correct call to make or the hand signal for this violation. What if I do jumping jacks with the ball on a dead ball inbound play? What if I move three feet and two inches to the left or right? The rules people needs to change this rule and go back to the old pivot foot rule.
  20. I agree, why not take your kids to place they will be tested every game? Unless you really need 20 wins to keep your job a little longer.
  21. I have seen Cookeville scores this season and I thought Cleveland would beat them even at cookeville. Some people I really think alot of have told me that the transfer from out of the USA is the real deal!!! Bruce Pearl said he was the best player from Chattoonga to Knoxville!!! Say it ain't so!!!
  22. This is the most unreasonable thing I have ever heard of. Tell me why in the world that a kid who only plays 3 or 5 min. for his varsity team not be aloud to play J.V. . Most schools of any size has a freshmen team so the j.v. should be a place for those guys caught in the middle. If I was a head coach I would not want to play many Juniors on my j.v. team, but to say it should against the rules is crazy. I'll bet you most boys basketball teams dress out 11 to 15 players and at least 4 or 5 of them want play a total of 30 min. all year on the varsity. It all depends on the level of the program you are talking about. Some schools may only play freshmen and soph. because thats all they can afford to play because everyone else is to important to the varsity. On the other hand your better programs may be able to bring down a junior or two because of the talent in front of them. I have seen several juniors who did not play much on their varsity teams and played j.v. because their coach knew that next year this kid would have to start on the varsity and just might avg. double figures. This a classic of someones kid is a freh. or soph. and a older kid is playing in front of him. Lets give most coaches a little credit and assume they are smart enough to not try to win j.v. games at the cost of the varsity!!! Winning is important to every program but the head coaches control who plays j.v. and who doesn't and I can promise you they would trade a j.v. lose for a varsity win any day.
  23. Any comments on the game. What was the game plan?
  24. Does anyone from west Tennessee post scores on this web site?
