  1. G.J. Hudgens finished around 3rd at state last year in 50.X as a freshman. He's an extremely hard worker and has good turnover (his looks are deceiving). He will most definetely battle for the 400m title this year...unless they throw him in the 800m, but regardless, he'll make a lot of noise this year. Oh, and he also ran the quarter at state his 8th grade year.
  2. The dude went 49.X and and 10.9X at state last year. He's quite fast and would most definetely be top 5 in both events in any division at state. Oh, and a "shot" at state?...the guy won the 400 in A-AA last year. However, 52.4 is not good at all for a sub 50 guy, even if it was his first race. If he's been training hard, he should have opened up with at least a 51.X, if not a 50.X...and that's hand timed too. Also, good AAA teams usually have all their guys around 50.X (not 52) for the 4X400. Good A-AA teams average around 52 on their 4X4 teams. Lastly, Jeffers ran 22.64 in the 2 at state last year. The time doesn't exactly match his other times, but it was his 3rd race of the day and only a few races after the quarter.
  3. Buddy, you got boys and girls Cross Country mixed up. FRA won the boys title...for the 4th time in a row.
  4. Cassie actually jumped 43'0.5", not 43'6. She also high jumped 5'10 last year. Lauren has already jumped 41'7.5" indoors this year (#1 in the country) as well as going 5'8 in the HJ. Her PR in the high jump is 5'9 (pretty sure) which she jumped at Great Eight last year. Oh, and just to let all of you know right now, Molly Kennedy, Philipa Davies, and Lauren Stewart will all EASILY win their respective divisions in the Pentathlon (granted they stay healthy).
  5. Many of you on this board are terribly stupid. If any of you ever bring up something so ridiculous again (10.01 100m), I will have to ask you to leave and never come back...10.01...hahaha
  6. First off, last time I checked the United States of America was part of the world. And secondly, track's popularity was never part of the issue that was being discussed (the caliber of FRA's athletic program) until you came in and decided that no one caring about track was relevant to the topic, which it is not. All that needs to be said is that the original claim that FRA's athletic program is not very strong is false. FRA has probably the strongest and most dominant overall athletic department in all of 1A. This statement has backed up and proven by the figures given by RWest316...end of story.
  7. Track and Field is the 2nd most popular sport in the world behind soccer.
  8. okay, then name one. basketball?...nope football?...negative baseball?...hahaha tennis?...try again soccer?...keep trying...
  9. nothing's proper when you're fighting a bloody war against yourself.
  10. FRA has never won a state championship in tennis. However, they have won 3 straight state titles in the sport that measures pure athleticism...track and field. They have also won state titles in baseball, soccer, XC (4 in a row), and football. Don't hate on them because they're faster than you...and everyone else.
  11. Erin Gnass (pv'er) is back and just finished around 6th at NIC. Beth Maher has graduated and is throwing at Duke.
  12. I find it laughable that you think that FRA doesn't have a dominate athletic program. And I think that my laughter is justified when you look at the 4 or 5 (I lost count) state championship rings on coasterboarder's fingers...or the 3 on mine...or the 4 rings that my older brother has...shall I continue?
  13. He can jump decently well, but not that well. He's not a "sky walker" by any means. If you consider his leaping ability tremendous because he can dunk the ball, you need to get out more. He's 6'3 with long arms...he darn well better be able to dunk.
  14. Summertown didn't seem to have a problem shooting the ball in the 3rd quarter. They (esp #5) were draining everything in the 3rd, but then they missed a few and FRA hit a few, and Summertown just got rattled. They were down about 7 with less than 5 to go in the game and they panicked. They were turning the ball over left and right and started fouling hard (what looked to be out of frustration). No offense to their coach, but he made a big mistake by not calling a timeout during the 22-0 run by FRA in the 4th. It is true that Summertown couldn't hit much of anything down the stretch, but what most likely caused this low shooting percentage was what I previously mentioned above.
  15. drugs are very bad for you...go seek help!
  16. You two need to know what you're talking about before you get on here and post. As blik tried to tell you twice, FRA does NOT run any kind of stall offense. They simply run a motion offense that is sometimes slow to get a shot off. It's called patience..they pass and move until they get a good shot, then thay take it. This form of offense often frustrates opponents (obviously) and works especially well against teams that aren't well conditioned. I could say more on this, but I see no need. So there, CPA certainly beat FRA, but certainly not at their own game.
  17. Noel goes to Brentwood High...Brentwood is in AAA.
  18. Bench really has nothing to do with throwing the shot far. There was a guy on my high school team last year who could bench 350lb (can prob bench more now) and I could out throw him by about 5 ft with the 12lb shot. I can only bench about 230lb and weigh 175lb. That's just one example. It's all about technique. Also, Olympic lifts such as cleans and snatches are much more vital to an explosive movement like the shot than bench press is. Lastly, I'm not trying to "dissed" your friend or anything. He'll probably have a great season, but he needs to know that his tehcnique is much more important than how much he can bench.
  19. What the heck is your problem, son. I never said he didn't win, I just had to disprove your BS claim cause it was completely ridiculous. Bingham is really good, but not that good. And if that is the best looking girl in your school, I feel sorry for you (no offense to that girl).
  20. Corey is an excellent athlete and a good guy, but he never won state in the triple jump.
  21. I'm sure it was a good dunk, especially for single A ball in TN. In fact, any dunk is a good dunk in 1A.
  22. It should also be mentioned that it was run indoor (on a 300m track).
