  1. The new alignment will have a slight change. Region 1 will consist of Pigeon Forge, Claiborne Co., Union Co, Gibbs, Scott Co., and Tennessee School for the Deaf and Blind.
  2. HTV-if he is the kid I am thinking about can he enroll and play at Powell this year. One of the potential QB's at Central has a zero tolerance, and will not be allowed to play anyway. I will assume he has moved residences. This puts Clark McMillan in the drivers seat at Central now doesn't it?
  3. NEXT YEARS PICKS. WHO HAS WHAT RETURNING? CARTER SEYMOUR PIGEON FORGE CLAIBORNE CO. UNION CO GIBBS RUTLEDGE
  4. Sometimes when a new coach comes in, it is hard to get the full attention of your players. This usually happens when your assistant coaches are not on your side. It is best when a new coach can bring one or two coaches in with him. Otherwise he will have to watch his back at all times.
  5. runningriot- I have watched you put down region 1-3A for the entire year. You have said how the worst teams in region 2-3A could be the best teams in region 1-3A. I have to agree the top 3 teams are stronger than whats in region 1-3A, but I find it hard to listen to you say how great Scott Co. is, and how good they would do if they did not have to play Fulton, AE, Catholic, AC, and LA. You have been dealt a tough region. It is no harder than what Carter was in the past 4 years. Carter played in region 3-4A for 4 years, and was the smallest school in 4A. I did not hear them complaining. I know that Scott Co. wants to change the region to make your schedule easier. Guess what, it is not gonning to happen for 3 more years. You must learn to deal with the hand you are dealt. I was looking at your previous years schedule, and don't think you would be very successful in 1-3A either. Scott Co. barely beat Gibbs the region 1-3A's worst team. You all were also beat by a 1A school. I believe your record was 3-7. If Scott Co. would schedule some good non-conference games, they might see what kind of team they really have. In the meantime just keep playing those extremely weak teams every year.
  6. Region 1 Seymou Pigeon Forge Gibbs Carter Union Co. Claiborne Co. Rutledge Region 3 Livingston Academy Fulton Austin East Anderson Co. Catholic Scott Co. Kingston These are only the teams not how I've ranked them.
  7. All this talk of how big and great the Powell O-Line was. They have not dominated a game yet at the line. I have seen them play several times. I am just not to impressed with them. They don't play smashmouth because they don't believe the line will dominate. At least it seems that way. If your players aren't getting the job done, then you change what you do, or change players. They aren't going to change players. West 42 Powell 18
  8. Leonard-What is your overall record?
  9. I was looking at the schedule and thought they have not played anyone. The big loss to Maryville shows they are not as talented as one would have thought. They have the biggest line in Tn, but are not dominating anyone. Except for Morristown East. They hit Knoxville West this week and will probably have trouble. They will have to win two of the the next 4 to keep it. They have to beat two of last 4 teams. West, Central, Carter, Clinton. Best chance is Carter, and Clinton.
  10. The Knoxville area will have some changes in it's regions at several levels. I know that Knoxville Catholic will play in AAA Div I next year, but what region 1 or 2. I think that Knoxville Carter will also play in AAA next year. Lenoir City will move up to AAAA. That probably means that Lenior City will be in Region 3-4A next year, While either Knox Catholic or Knox Carter will go to Region 2-3A. With the addition of Knox Catholic to that region means in gets really tough to compete for the top 4 spots for playoffs. Lenoir City is getting used to playing tough teams week in and week out coming from 2-3A. They will probably competitive in 4A somewhat at least. Knox Catholic is getting much better with Pemberton, but can they trade some of the weaker teams for the Region 2-3A schedule. Knox Carter is used to Region 3-4A, they might have a better chance in 2-3A, but it will still be tough. Had Maryville and Knox West moved to 5A, which is what everyone thought, Region 3-4A would have been wide open. Of course Knox Central would love for Maryville and Knox West to leave 3-4A, but we now know that that will not happen. It would have been a slug fest for 3 and 4. 1. Knox Central 2. Knox Powell 3. and 4. Knox Halls, Knox Carter,Lenior City or Clinton Region 2-3A might be like this 1. AE 2. Fulton 3. Anderson Co. 4. Knox Catholic, Knox Carter, Gibbs, Scott Co., or Kingston. Although Knox Catholic might give Anderson Co. a run for their money.

  12. I thought he was kicked off the team last year. It was mentioned that he did not want to do what Coach Clark asked him to do. That might be a reason for not having any offers yet. If a player could take his pick, then offers would already be coming in. Several players have already had offers, and they are not as high up on the list as he is. It might also be that he gets hurt often. They might be standing clear because of last year as well as injury bug.
  13. How many Freshman are playing varsity Football this year in the Knoxville area? Who are they and how are they doing?
  14. What does WB have coming back next year?
  15. We will see in a couple of years, actually next year. By the way, can you tell me where all he has coached. :Why he has left those programs? Just so yo uknow the Drunk Driver program, many other teachers and coaches did the same thing that year. He just so happened to call and tell everybody what he was doing. Sort of like patting yourself on the back. I've heard he is good at that.
  16. What does WB have coming back next year? I know this senior class was supposed to be loaded. Meadows usually has success his second year. Although it happened right away at Alcoa.
  17. Kids also loved Swafford. I'm not at all saying that Kirby is like Swafford, but every coach has kids that love them. He was not liked when he was at AE. Just so you know West Defense was not to shabby last year, ask Cleveland. Also remember last year Lamont was kicked off the team right before the Karns game. He is no Defensive guru, otherwise he would not have been stuck at Karns for so long. Cummings had no other choice. He had been at Karns for at least 4 years. What had the defense been doing those other 39 games.
  18. I can't beleive some of the people in Halls are thinking this way. I may get on here and rag some people and Halls sometimes, but honestly they don't have the talent pool they had 10 years ago. Let's just say they have been short changed in the gene pool. How many players do they have that will play after high school? How many players do they have that are over 6'0"? How many player do they have that run under a 4.8? How many players do they have that bench over 250 lbs? How many players do they have that have more than a 20" verticle? I wish the Halls coaching staff luck. Gary Shephard is a good coach. I don't always agree with everything he does, but he is a good coach.
  19. Give Kirby a year and he will wear out his welcome at West. He always seemed like he thought he was better than he really was. Very Arrogant. I'm not sure why.
  20. If you look at Basketball, baseball, Track, etc. you will see that teams are competing with teams that have a double amount of students to choose from. That does not seem like it gives the smaller schools much of a chance. Farragut, Bearden, and Karns in Knoxville all have roughly 300 more students this year than last year. You are talking about as many as 2900 students at Farragut, playing schools with 1300 students. It will get even more drastic if we have less than 5 classifications.
  21. So are you saying to play a 10 week schedule, 5 week playoff and championship, and then play two more to decide the actual champion.
  22. No they cannot. Karns will line up and say stop us. You know what they are gonna do.
  23. I have heard so many people complain about having 5 classifications instead of 3. I'm not sure why they are so set on going backward. What good would it do to TN High School Football? Maybe if I could see what great benefit it would have for all of High School Football then I would agree, but I don't. For those of you who would like to go back please inform me of what great benefit it would have.
  24. Ok ,OK, Ok, I confess it was me, it was me, I was told to take care of the field and I did. I was told to clean those awful soccer lines off the field, and I decided to wash them off. That waterbase paint just doesn't come off that easy.
