  1. game still tied... West has the ball at the 50 with 7 minutes to go
  2. West 15, Jeff County 15 (end of third)
  3. Morristown West 15, Jefferson County 15 (end of third quarter)
  4. Also at the Half: West Greene 0 Rutledge 42 Claiborne 0 Scott 42 Morr. East 7 Lenoir City 21
  5. Jefferson County 15, Morristown West 7 (early third quarter)
  6. First of all, no one knows who ctsports boss is any more. He left the Tribune about a month ago and moved to the 'Boro. Second, let's try to stop all the bickering and fighting on here. What ctsports said was uncalled for, but the response was equally as bad. Let the kids decide the game and not some guys that just like to shoot their mouths off without thinking.
  7. JPATS, If no good team gets beat by a lot of points, then explain the 35-7 pounding West put on Jefferson County last year! Since Don Woods took over at West, they have only lost once to Jefferson County, and that was his first season. Jefferson County has only put 20 points on the board against the Trojans in the last four meetings, including two goose eggs (28-0, 24-0, 27-13, 35-7).
  8. If Clement struggled against the likes of a below average Rhea County team and a terrible Campbell County team, then he is in trouble against West. Campbell County may be the worst team in East Tennessee, and Rhea County has looked sick this season. If West's defense plays to it's capablities, they could easily roll in this one. Having spoken to several people that have seen Jefferson County play this year, West could find some holes in the defense to run the ball. Also, West's QB Minnich is starting to look sharp, but his receivers have had trouble catching the ball. If they start to catch on against a suspect Patriot secondary, they will win. My pick: Morristown West 20 Jefferson County 13
  9. All finals... Morristown West 42 Cocke County 6 Powell 14 Morristown East 30 Rutledge 34 Claiborne 6
  10. Stick to Jefferson County, JPATS! Nobody in Morristown values your opinion anyway.
  11. Count me in as one that hates to play at Greeneville. I didn't see this game, but it sounded a lot like whenever Morristown West or East heads to Burley Stadium. West has walked away with some wins there in recent years despite having to play against the Devils and six zebras. Maybe if they didn't pull the refs out of the classrooms at Greeneville High, there wouldn't be as much BS on the field there!
  12. That a boy KB! Give 'em heck! I don't care who wins this game, but just for KB's sake, I'll say the ole Pioneers will roll by at least 17.

    Jeff Co.

I hope Jefferson County has a geat season, but here are a couple of things that will happen to them during the season. 1) They will lose to Morristown West on the road, 28-14. 2) They will beat Dobyns-Bennett in a tight game in the regular season, but they will lose to the Indians in the playoffs. 3) Their final record will be 11-2. That's just my two cents worth.
  14. Morristown West and Knox Central in the East, and Hillsboro in the West. They may be the only ones with a chance. Cleveland may sneak in there, but only time will tell.
  15. For easthighhurricane: Who are you Walt Bragg? I'm never heard more BS than I have from you in the last couple of posts. As for Larry Smith, he better run for his life because two more 2-8 seasons will find him in the unemployment line! This isn't SW Virginia! Your playing with the big boys now!
  16. How can anyone in their right mind say that East is better than West? East hasn't played close with West since the 1998 game when West won 27-24. In my opinion, this year's game could be just as ugly as the game a couple of years ago when West opened a can on East to the tune of 59-12. I don't care if East has a new coach, or if Don Woods was to wear the Orange and Black for the game, the 'Canes just don't have the talent to take down the Trojans this year, or any time soon. As for easthighhurricane, I wouldn't talk too much trash about West. If someone was to find out who you are, and if you are a player, you could be in for the longest night of your life on October 3 at Burke-Toney Stadium in West's seventh straight win over East.
  17. More trash talk from someone who obviously can't read. I can't stand Central, and I can't stand Maryville. I don't live or die based on how a particular HS football team does.
  18. Carl Stewart may be a fine HS running back, but he will neve make it in the big time at Auburn. The kid cannot take a hit, and if you disagree with me Rebel supporters, look at what happened to him in the Morristown West game. He gets hit by a DB, and he couldn't even walk off the field without stumbling all over the place. He's a good runner, but he can't make it where the hits will be hard and a plenty.
  19. All I hear from Maryville fans is trash-talk this, trash-talk that. I just wonder if the Rebel fans would be this cocky if they hadn't got lucky and beat Central. I am by no means a Central fan, but I just sometimes wonder why the MHS fans complain about other people trash-talking, and then they turn around and do it themselves. If you are promoting no trash talk, then you all need to can it as well.
  20. James "Little Man" Stewart - played high school ball at Morristown West; second leading rusher in UT history; current starting running back for the Detroit Lions
  21. Boone has had trouble scoring all year long, and that trend will continue on Friday night in Morristown. Shockley, Dirty, Rucker, and Southerland and the receivers will put up 40+...in the first half. Trojans roll to the win, and look to get revenge on Betsy next week for three losses to the Cyclones in the 1990's.
