  1. WOW! It is kinda sad to not see Kenwood there at the Regionals. It is a shock to me. I hope their coach being out sick most of the season had nothing to do with them not being at regionals. But, to give Rossview credit, they certainly have vastly improved over the previous years. Good luck to them!
  2. So, so sad that a girl considers it to be an okay thing to charge rape against someone for her own loose morals. We are talking about a young man's life, HIS LIFE, as opposed to her maybe getting in trouble for drinking and having sex. By the way, would she have even been in trouble of any kind if she hadn't opened her mouth ? This really, really aggravates me! I think for her falsehood she should suffer in some way - payback of attorney's fees, payback of bail money; and maybe even community service such as speaking at school about how/why it is wrong to charge someone falsely with rape!
  3. Hmmm, did you say Franklin was going to be there? They seem to be as good a team individually as in duals. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
  4. OH MY GOSH PEOPLE! GET OVER IT! How much longer do we have to beat a dead horse? I am sure there will be something else before long that we will "argue" and discuss. Let's move on!
  5. Who says that soccer players can't also be wrestlers? Mat Wizard, very good post. Let's hope more people take it to heart. I hear crow isn't a very good dish! thumb
  6. I am greatly impressed with the improvement of Rossview over last year. I believe they could definitely be a contender!
  7. Sure, Rossview was pretty decent last year, but come one now! Do you really think that they stand a chance against Kenwood who locks & reloads every year? Or against Clarksville High, all in the same region? I really don't see that happening - not this year, or even in the next. Not to say that crap doesn't happen, but, I just really don't see it happening. I would speculate that you started this thread just to get stuff stirred up. Oh well.
  8. OK, You ARE joking, right? WOW! If that was true, wonder what that would do to the hydration test thing we got going on now? Do you reckon he could drop back down?
  9. I LOVE rasslin! Been waiting for it all year! Bring it on!!
  10. Coach, I understand it when you are talking about some super stud that might be coming out, but as a whole, who knows? Besides, how often do you get super studs?
  11. OK, not to sound like a smarty or anything, but how on earth would be know? I mean, they are FRESHMEN! Other than something they might have done in middle school or AAU or something like that, how would we know? I think in a few months once kids come off of football and get into wrestling we will all have a pretty good idea of who the freshmen are. Right now since they are freshmen the coaches might not be 100% on who and how many freshmen will be coming out. We could, however, talk about returning wrestlers. How about that? thumb
  12. I think Rachel Weakley from Clarksville High is quite a dynamo! thumb
  13. I'm sorry, but THAT always get me laughing, OUT LOUD!
  14. I would also say they have a little bit of ego. But, as some would say, I guess that goes with the territory.
  15. Those are all good ones. I look forward to more!
  16. I think Clarksville has the ability, but do they have their head in the game?[/color]
  17. I don't quite understand that date. If wrestling doesn't officially start until November, how can a team be expected to weigh in and certify in October when some of the guys are in cross-county & football, or some kid might decide later in October that he/she wants to wrestle? What about that kid? He doesn't get to wrestle because he missed the October 9th weigh-in date?
  18. It is my understanding that they lost a game last week to a town rival, Rossview High in Clarksville. It is true that they do have some really good players, but it seems that Rossview does also.
  19. It really doesn't matter if they want to get into college playing sports. If they don't have the grades in high school there is no way they could even make the grade in college. I mean, school is preparation for life, right? Well, the amount of people who get into college on an athletic scholarship is minimal. There just aren't that many of them. And, I believe that NCAA has rules about grades & athletics, also. Heck, if an "athlete" wants to play and be a dummy in school, there are always those AAU or travel leagues in town they can play on. School is to prepare students for life, not to play sports! As a teacher, I have enough slackards in my classroom. If students thought they could play sports without the grades, and that they could also have a chance to get into college without grades, I can almost guarantee they wouldn't study. What would be the point of school or college if it was only about playing?
  20. That was a pretty cool article. I enjoyed reading it and wondered all the way through how he would do and how he would get himself psyched up against the Russians. The mind is definitely a powerful force - I believe that a match is won or lost in a person's head before he ever steps out on the mat. Nice article. Thanks for letting us know about it. thumb
  21. I agree with you MaryvilleReb, cheering at a wrestling match goes beyond pointless, actually.
  22. Just wondering, though, I am pretty sure the cost of living would be considerably higher on the west coast than here in TN, would it really be worth it, money-wise, to move to the west coast?
  23. At Clarksville High, Coach Jeff Jordan is returning as head coach, and Sharrock Cobb is the assistant.
