  1. Where and what time?
  2. Where have you been for the past 5 years?
  3. Each district is resposible for their own system. The state does not have a mandate as to how districts are set up for tournament play.
  4. BA seams to have had some pretty good keepers in recent years.
  5. I know Randy Johnson well and I can assure you he is in complete control and knows what he is doing. With thirty years of collegiate coaching I can assure you there is a reason to his actions. thumb
  6. Soccer is done no different than football or basketball.
  7. Maybe so. My personal experience was with travel soccer and travel baseball. A lot may depend on the two sports as well as the coaches you may have.
  8. You can play a high level of two sports ( soccer and baseball ) up until about the age of twelve. The commitment is extremely high for both parents as well as the child. It is not for everybody. Regardless of the sport however, twelve is generally the age to commit to one sport. This is wqhere I found the coaches of both sports started expecting the player to make up their mind which one to play.
  9. Just what is considered too short? Quickness, good hands, overall instincts and command of the field are far more important issues than just plain height! People get caught up way too much over height. I'll take a keeper at 5'10" with the above qualities over a 6'4" basketball player any day.
  10. There is a big difference between shots and shots on goal. I don't think a shot should be recorded unless it is on goal. One of these days we are going to get a post after a loss without the BUT
  11. Good idea. However, the problem with "high school graduates or college students" is they can make more money elsewhere. They are not interested in offiating for the "love of the game." I do not think that most people realize how much time is involved off the field. Then add all the travel ( at your expense ), low pay and disrespectfull kids and unless you are truly doing it for the love of the game then it is not worth it.
  12. Your writing is an embarrassment to your school. There are a lot of people who might be interested in your post but not if this is the best you can do. This type of post is nothing but laziness.
  13. It would help if you let us know what part of the state your in.
  14. You are either committed to soccer and your teammates or you 're not. The coach must make them decide.
  15. One thing I've noticed about this thread, unlike in years past there does not seem to be a consensus of who might be the best goalie. Usually there are three or four players that everyone talks about, but not this year. Does that mean no one has really stepped up or is their that many good one this year? Any ideas?
  16. It is common knowledge that the state that have boys soccer in the fall and girls in the spring ( there is about a 4 to 1 difference ) have a big advantage in both ODP as well as colleges recruiting. Most of the big college showcase tournaments are in the fall for boys. And yes football is the reason Tennessee will never change seasons.
  17. This has been discussed on this board before. It is one of the reasons why Tennessee soccer gets no respect and lags behind the other states. Bottom line is it's not going to happen.

    Fields

Strictly from a field perspective BA is the best I've seen. Flat field ( no crown ) and an underground drainage system second to none.
  19. I saw the same thing happen in a big tournament in Memphis. Apparently the official has the option to reward a goal. Doesn't happen often but the ruling is there.
  20. And how does naming names on these boards hold them accountable? Just what does that accomplish?
  21. Most of you are showing that you have no clue what goes into officiating regardless of the sport. All TSSAA officials are held accountable. They have supervisors both at the local level as well as the state. They do not and should not have to answer to players or parents. How do you think referees get slected for tournaments or state? Coaches and/or their supervisors select them. Bottom line - naming names is completely inappropriate.
  22. MBA and Father Ryan are not in Williamson County.
  23. Bald coach your're wasting your time. I would also like to know who his english teacher is!
