  1. What a gutsy victory! I thought we done for after we went down 21-10, but we answered right away. Jordan Graham had the best game as a Wildcat. Good job by the coaches of trying to find something that would work against a great West defense.
  2. It was ugly, but we finally brought the heat. CC had a good defensive plan and their QB was on. Booker was off on passing but more than made up for it in running and defense. Need to play better next week if we are going to hang with Farragut.
  3. I really hate it for him. I hope he can heal up and help us again come end of the season. He was a game-changer on both sides of the ball against Powell and Fulton last year.
  4. They live stream all of their games. There will be a link on the site at game time.
  5. Campbell County comes to town after a disappointing loss to a much improved Davey Crockett team. Oak Ridge is looking much better than a this point last year. I have a feeling that Crockett caught CC looking ahead to this game. We should expect a team fighting hard to get that very crucial region win. However, I think we have the speed and talent to win this one going away. RWR!!
  6. Great game for our young Wildcats! I thought we did a good job of moving the football. The Defense was ok, but got better as the game wore on. Great to see us force and take advantage of the turnovers. Herbert had his best game as a Wildcat on both offense and defense. 2 awesome catches by Pendegrass and hopefully the first of many touchdown catches by Jonathon Stewart. There is still a lot of room to improve, but last night's game showed a lot of progress. As for DB, mistakes were just killers. The first interception should have been an easy completion for a 1st down. In the 2nd quarter, a holding penalty and botched snap killed a drive would have made for a tighter game. Overall though, our team speed and experience on defense were the difference makers in the game. Do not need to be over confident for Campbell County next week. Our staff knows how to defend against their offense. We just need to be prepared to go hard. RWR!!
  7. Offense is doing better. DBs 2 turnovers have killed them.
  8. I pray for an injury free game. It should be close as most games between us go. I’m picking 28-21 OR.
  9. Yes, good to have Jaxon around. He should be a big help. #66 is a transfer from Texas and is a Soph. Still lots of work to do to be ready for Hardin Valley.
  10. Maryville's QB's were amazing tonight. All of them.
  11. We definitely have some talent, but didn't get off the bus tonight. I know it's a scrimmage, but pretty disappointed with the lack of effort and focus.
  12. The scrimmage with Maryville has been moved to Maryville HS, time 6:00 PM.
  13. I was there for a little bit. Both teams seemed pretty even to me. Powell has a QB with a live arm and good legs. RB and receivers are fast. There is some size on the line. As far as Anderson County goes, Moog is pretty much unstoppable. 2nd string QB did a good job. Both offenses had their way with each team's defenses. Anderson County is still a top 5 4-A team. Powell will definitively compete for a playoff spot in our district.
  14. 21-0 Oak Ridge. We had a slow start but moved the ball well after that. A lot of guys played, we even started our 2nd string O-line. The defense looked good. I don't think Heritage had any positive yards on offense. I though Booker looked a little nervous at first, but settled down. Gibbons led a good drive for a score. Overall, positive scrimmage. Still much work to do on the line. Our young guys need to grow up fast. Good luck to Heritage on their season.
  15. O-Line: I would expect Galloway, Stewart, Hensley, Johnson and Boone. Trying out lots of punters and kickers; still a work in progress. We have 3 workhorses so far, Romano, Jackson and Rowe. Graham is playing as a slot back. I think the line will be fine once we get past DB. As far as schedule goes, it is a good one. The way the district is structured, everybody is playing their district games at the end of the season. We have good records against our out-of-district opponents; it's not like we are playing Maryville, Ensworth and MBA. And...we sign contracts every 2 years. As far as the scrimmage goes, lots of guys will play tomorrow night. I expect a lot of speed to be shown on both sides of the ball. I also expect a little bit of a slow start since we have so many new guys in key positions.
  16. Hard to tell from the first day. It looks like everyone was there. I only saw the defense practice. Lots of guys being rotated around. We have 2 positions to fill at linebacker and 2 linemen so lots of guys are getting reps. Lots and lots of speed at corner and safety. Good numbers for linemen.
  17. Very talented back. Started as a Soph. Older brother, Caleb played a couple of years ago. Has a younger brother, freshman, who maybe better than both.
  18. Yes, he is back on the team and played in the scrimmage. Good to have him back!
  19. 7 on 7 thoughts: While admitting the 7 on 7's rarely predict success in the regular season, I thought we looked good, in spite of playing 2 brand new QB's. We showed that we have good depth at our skill positions. Both QB's had their ups and downs, but made some good throws. On defense we still have a lot of work to do to replace last year's starters. Important to get that right given our early schedule. Players that stood out to me: Pendergrass, Mitchell, Stacey-Wright, Booker, Gibbons and Stewart. Next: scrimmage against Heritage on July 27th.
  20. They did great against us (Oak Ridge). Your QB was the best we saw in the 4 games we played.
  21. I would say at this time, it would be on the practice field.
  22. You guys do realize it's out of the school district's hands and in the hands of the city government.
