Would love to see Cloudland on this list.

I’m not surprised we lost. Our boys played as well as they could, having several players out with injuries. I just hope we can mend and have a decent season next year. Good luck to Oz against coalfield. It won’t be as easy as tonight.

Have an 8th grader wanting to improve her long jump form. Any suggestions? We’re both new to this.

It’ was the heart of these boys that won that game. They don’t want this season to end. They will play with everything in them to win. They don’t give up. I’m not taking anything from Zac; he called a good game. These boys were determined before season started to give it all they had. They’ll do the same next week, too. There’s no quit in them.

The players have themselves sitting at 10-1. The spread works about 10% of the time. But he’s the coach, as you said. He can call whatever he wants.

And maybe forget the spread for a game.

Well, mr.KING, I just want you to know that most of the people on this forum have figured out who you are and we are not impressed, we never have been, did you even play football in high school and if you did, where were you? Mark Byrd sister could hit harder than you. Quit dissin' the boys, everyone knows a true highlander fan sticks by the players no matter what happens that is what makes us 'highlanders'. if you have nothing good to say about our team then find something else to talk about. what you should really do is find a friend and quit spending so much time think up crap to say on here. you aren't fooling anyone HDK!

Yet another Cloudland fan pulling for Unaka... I've watched most of these boys grow up over the years in youth league basketball and baseball. Even tho I am 100% Roan Mountain, I'm proud of them. They represent our end of the state, and they're doing a bang-up job. (how 'bout that 2nd half? ) Best of luck, Rangers!

This is a thread to wish the Lady Landers GOOD LUCK on their games this week, not the social club meeting for freshmen( who can discuss all this at school tomorrow!!) My family and I wish the Lady Landers the very best for their up-coming game against Moore Co. May the Good Lord bless each of you with health, strength and a safe trip. "lander" is short for HIGHLANDER. This is Cloudland's mascot, based on the heritage of most people who settled in our area years ago, the Scots and Scot Irish. If you've seen the movie "Braveheart", then you have a clue to the fight and determination still alive and well up here in the mountains. We never give up and we never back down. Sounds like somebody in Moore Co. is counting their chicks before the final buzzer 3/12/03. If I read the brackets right, ya'll have a game b4 you play Ezell...if you play another game after Wednesday! Who says Ezell's going to win, anyway?? The teams you're playing did not get where they are by being slack or untalented. Don't be surprised if you wind up on the losing side of the gym. Sure the Lady Landers have the talent and coaching to make it to state but if their leaders don't step it up all of that is going to waste. I have saw them play an outstanding game of ball but then again I have saw the worst team ever and thought how in the world could those girls play such sloppy and unorganized basketball. There is no doubt they can make it but the real question is will they use what they have and play like a state bound team or will they put to much pressure on themselves and fall on their face. I think they look ahead to much when they really need to just focus on one game at a time. Good Luck to the Lady Landers. Play hard and Play PROUD!!

One thing to bear in mind....PV will be on the road-how many PV fans travel? Lander's are at home, with the best fan-based support any team can ask for. True, the battle's on the field, but the again, it's OUR field. Some folks say the fans don't make a difference, but I'm thinking they probably do. Expect a packed house when you come, and expect to be drowned out noise-wise. I hope your boys aren't shakey and "the roar of the crowd" won't affect their mental state.
