  1. I liked it when the cameras showed a shot of the sign that read, David vs Goliath. This is just the way that I had thought of this matchup. The salary of the Marlins is about 1/2 the salary of the Yankees. The Marlins are playing with determination, and a good ol desire to win. I think Mckeon, Marlins manager is doing a great job. The Braves could use a manager like him.
  2. Pedro Martinez also makes approx. $15.5 million a year. David Wells makes $3.6 million a year. I just can't see that much difference in their talent and success for that amount of money.
  3. I agree that former Jackie McGee @ Bruceton was an intense Defensive coach and motivator. I think he is missed by the football team and coaches.
  4. We're praying from Camden that he'll be just fine!
  5. Camden ran into a buzzsaw at Adamsville. The reason Adamsville won is because they came to play, it was their homecoming and they were pumped up. Camden seemed flat and had 5 turnovers during the game, and didn't seem to be focused, and didn't play with emotion. I think Camden was overconfident because of Adamsville's record, and didn't expect them to be that good. Adamsville scored two touchdowns on their first two possessions on big running plays both from midfield, though Camden had tied it up by halftime. Their offensive line blocked well and they have a good quarterback and a fast tailback. Although Camden beat Adamsville as far as the stats go, passing and rushing, the final score is what counts. Adamsville's coach made some changes for this game in his lineup that worked well. Camden has gotten a wakeup call and we'll see how they respond to it. Congratulations to Adamsville on a well played game.
  6. I love baseball but I'm no Yankee fan. Although I do like a few players on their team, David Wells for one, who I learned last weekend on an interview on ESPN Radio loves to hunt. The Yankees probablyhave more talent, but the Marlins got there on determination and playing aggressive. By the way, I liked the song that was sung during the seventh inning stretch, "God Bless America".
  7. Congradulations Liberty on your first win. I saw it on the 10'oclock news tonight.
  8. Bruceton gets their first win of the season.
  9. Well I'm not making any predictions, but I just hope Camden limits their mistakes and that they play well, and if they do I believe we'll have a good game and hopefully we'll win. Adamsville has a good team, better than their record shows. I think they have a new coach from around Memphis (correct me if I'm wrong) and I listened to him on 96.5 ESPN radio thursday or friday, and he sounded like he had some good ideas and goals for his team.
  10. Bruceton Tigers will get back on track. This is just growing pains from losing so many players last year. Look for them to be more competitive next year.

"Win with class, lose with class, and you're always a winner" hum...sure put that in a hard to read color...makes me wonder if you were trying to say something huh? Anyways..Dresden did a good job on picking up on our careless mistakes to pick up the victory, as i already have, i will congradulate them again. But i still despise those who say they shutdown our passing. No, BigDMcK, there wasn't anything negative meant by my post.
  12. I would be for a shot clock. I just can't stand it when they're stalling. But like some others, I think it should be about a minute long for high school.

Congradulations Dresden players on your hard fought victory. You beat a very good Mckenzie team. I know Mckenzie was favored and rightfully so, but Dresden was the better team friday night. Congrad's to both teams on their accomplishments this season. "Win with class, lose with class, and you're always a winner"
  14. I don't know if there will be another John Ward. He did a great job for the Vols and I always enjoyed listening to him. Bob is okay, but he doesn't bring the excitement into listening to the game like Ward did.
  15. Can someone give me the directions to the high school football stadium at Newburn? I will be coming from Milan towards Trenton. Thanks!
  16. The new Jr. High coach's name for Camden is Coach Roy Grant. A picture of the team and the roster is on the Camden Lions website.Camden Lions
  17. No, Coach McCloud took a coaching job at Waverly I think. We got a new coach from West Carroll.
  18. The "Camden Lions" has a great website. Kenny Cooper does a great job on this for the Lions, with updated news, and photos by Tony Dillon, etc. Camden Lions
  19. Jr. High teams around our area (Camden) play in the fall and play in a tournament at Martin, Tn.
  20. Yes, the Jr. High had a great year. They went undefeated this season, but couldn't get anyone around to play them in the annual "Sorghum Bowl" that Camden has been having for several years. And yes, Stacy Baker almost always has a competitive high school softball team. He always seems to get the best out of them. And we believe he'll have another great team next year. The Jr. High also did real well this year, as well as last year. I think they won the Jr. High softball tournament at Martin last year (which was their first year for Jr. High Softball) and they came in second this year, losing 6-3 to a good JCS team. Coach McDowell (Camden's High School baseball coach) is working hard to get the baseball program up to the next level, to where it's more competitive, like the softball program.
  21. I will also pray for him and his family. Hope that he will get well soon.
  22. I have been a Braves fan for a long time. But I get tired of their lackluster effort at times. They need a new coach/manager to come in and get these players fired up. Sometimes I think they try to be too classy. GOBIGRED's post pretty much summed it up. The Braves felt like they had it won and just tried to coast thru September. I don't think they thought they were going to lose that last game, but HELLO!, after the ninth inning was over reality hit. Or maybe they really don't care, and they're happy with having just a good regular season, the moneys good, and they can take off early and go do what they want. But the fan attendance is down at Turner Field, and after this it will probably be worse next year.
