  1. I think Chris Wooden will have a good game, but he will have a tougher time doing it with one of the best defenses that DCA will have played to date. I think a big key in the game will be if CPA's line can give Luke Landers enough room to squeeze past the line of scrimmage against a real good defensive front from DCA. If so, he should get his yards and make Josh Pollock's (CPA QB) job easier. If Luke can get loose, I have to give an edge to CPA.
  2. Attention Bighurt! Since I am an official Plus Member now, I want my "Good Mark" you promised last season (Are Good Marks still given?) Couldn't get out to the game tonight, but I hope for good news on the scores tonigt.

    CPA'S Slip-up

RobJim, what's a man your age doing up so late at night?
  4. Shaka is doing well for himself palying linebacker at the University of Memphis. I remember the games he played at Goodpasture when they played CPA. Good contests!
  5. I'm very thankful to CoachT for having this type of medium. We may fuss and fight, but when it comes down to it , we are a family, and CoachT has been God's instrument in this. Blessings, prayers, and healing to Mr. Knight.
  6. Boyd has shown a lot of character in coming back and having a great season to date, considering the heartbreaking loss they incurred in the championship game last year against CPA. I didn't think they could easily replace great players like Healy, and others. Hats off to Coach Akins, his staff, and the players. I think this game is even, as Goodpasture is also a very good team and a 2A powerhouse. If Boyd wins, everyone else in 1A should, and am sure will, take notice.

    CPA'S Slip-up

Would there have been a problem if this young man had not played any sports at his prior school last year?
  8. David Pack from CPA has to be in the mix. It seems this man was born to coach high school football. He's really good at saying the right thing to the players at the right time before the game, at halftime, after the game, and at practice during the week. He has a way of getting into the kid's heads to get them to play to their potential and beyond.
  9. Don't bother, I went to the TSSAA web site and reviewed the schedule (DCA).
  10. Possibly between Boyd and Cloudland in the East, and in the West, either Collinwood or the winner of the DCA/CPA game.
  11. Who has DCA played besides Ezell and McEwen?
  12. Travis Sikes from CPA needs mentioning here. As a sophomore, he played a big part in CPA's championship run this past year. Made unbelievable catches and plays as a WR afer making the transition from QB. Good size (6'3", 185) and good speed.
  13. They sure surprised me. Good shooting and patient play has served them well. Presley Ramsay has done a great job with those guys.
  14. I've always enjoyed going to DCA (Donelson Christian Academy)in Nashville for football games. It's a pretty stadium located on the rocky bluff banks of the Stones River. A real scenic location in the autumn.
  15. In this year's senior class or upcoming classes? In this year's class, Cottom from ECS in Memphis is going to UT as a tight end, and Corder from CPA in Nashvile is going to MTSU as a projected tight end. I think a senior from Franklin is going to Western KY as a tight end. I'm sure there are other good ones, those are the ones I'm aware of.
  16. I'll admit it was surprising, but as Coach Rankin put it, two class programs where either team will bring a crowd.
  17. I believe any team in 9A is capable of beating another 9A team this year, with the exception of Lighthouse, and Lighthouse isnt't all that bad this year, they are just in a tough district. Whoever comes out of 9A to the region should do well in the tournament because of the district competition. McEwen from 10A is real good and should go far in the tournament. Charlie Anderson's boys from Bellevue are making some noise. Just observations. Should be an interesting Feb/March.
  18. Clinton Corder will be going to MTSU, but his scholarship will not be effective until 2004. That is why he cannot be considered an offical signee this year. He will enroll this fall and practice and play with the team.
  19. Clinton Corder from CPA to sign with MTSU.
  20. Clinton Corder from CPA will sign with MTSU. Congrats to Jacob Victory on his committment to Bethel. It will be fun to see Johnathon Ward, Antoine Owens, and Clinton being on the same team after being worthy adversaries during their high school careers.
  21. Are these the same computer rankings Coach T uses? The top 4 or 5 teams have done a good job of knocking each other off. I believe they all have at least 2 losses each in 9A. It could be an interesting tournament, unless one or two breaks out of the pack.
  22. We agree there is certainly much parity in 9A. On any night, DCA, FRA, CPA, Goodpasture, and Ezell could knock each other off. CPA had a good win in OT at Goodpasture last night against a great Goodpasture team, but looses at home against FRA last Friday in a slowdown game. CPA should have a decent chance against DCA tonight if they don't come out flat. Press Ramsey will get the most out of his players, but so will Ken Brooks. This is a pivitol game, and should be a good one.
  23. For what it's worth, I heard today the makeup date for the CPA vs Goodpasture game snowed out earlier will be this Thursday, 5:30 for girls and 7:00 for boys. Should be a pivital game in 9A. FRA got one from CPA this past Friday, and DCA got one from Goodpasture. Looks like it could be a tight 4 way race, at least early.
  24. District 9A boys basketball is getting interesting. FRA beats CPA, and DCA beats Goodpasture. Ezell will come on strong down the stretch. To me, it looks like a horse race to the wire is developing. Does anyone else have opinions?
