HA!!! Right!!! As if!!! New Mexico basketball doesn't quite have the same product as Tennessee!!! Coach Tipps and Coach Crabtree do not look so bad now huh?

Coach Roberts will turn that program around. It has been a while since a Marion Co. basketball boys team has had the disclipline and the work ethics that Coach Roberts expects. He will get some results this year, but judge him in three or four years when he has had a chance to put his stamp on it. Good luck to Coach Roberts.

One of those guys gets paid to be the AD and the head football coach and i believe he also has the longest tenure as coach in the region as head coach. Maybe he is to busy being principal to dedicate the time to select an all-region team. But I for one have to come to expect that of him, since there is really nothing in it for him.

If he did, I think that is grounds for dismissal. Also the members of Legislative Council that did not carry those wishes with their vote; I am demanding that they step down from their position. This group acts like they do not answer to anyone and they can care less what the wishes of the membership is. Can I get a witness?

The Grundy County Herald reports that Ken Colquette may step down at the end of this season. This was told to Coach Price at Coffe County last week in a phone discussion with Coach KC according to the Manchester Media. If so, did they really get their money's worth from him ?

Amen !!!! If my boys decide to play football I hope that they have the good fortune to play for someone like Greg Brewer. He is a class act who cares about all the kids at the school he is at. I am honored to be his friend.

If you will look back to my post in August of this year, I told everyone ( none of whom believed me ) that Colquette was going to retire after this year. The School Board did NOT bring KC in to be prinicpal and oh by the way be the football coach. He was given the principal job to get the money right for hiring him as the football coach. Throw in the AD job and his wife the Vocational Director and Vice Principal job and you have two people making $ 110,000 a year. Greg Brewer was NEVER told that they were interviewing the Colquettes for the football job and had to be informed by his friends that found out about it. And where has it gotten them? 1) Mass Exodus of most of the best teachers they had. 2) One second round playoff position which oh by the way was as far as Brewer took them. 3) a Disenfranchised Student Body The kids in this program are good boys and they have some excellent assistant coaches ( who deserved to be treated with respect). BUT bottom line the talent pool is gone after this year so KC is going to bail out. I hope that a fine man as Coach Taylor gets to stay at Jasper and he will get that program turned around. I would hate to see him get caught up in the fallout of this years mess. The people of Grundy County were told they were getting a hard nosed disciplinarian that would not let kids come out after the spring game or after summer workouts. They were promised a state champion contender. They were sold a lemon and nobody wants their lemonade. To the fine faculty, students and fans and athletes of Grundy County; best of luck in everything. But always be cautious in a deal that seems to good to be true; it usually is. You can put perfume on poop; but it is still poop.

If there are arguments going on where the public or fans can see; this is a major problem. Players don't have to be best buddies, but they have to trust each other and play with one another or you don't have a team. A coach hopes that his seniors has the leadership to make good decisions and keep things smooth. The assistant coaches work and handle their position players to this end as well. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS : THE HEAD COACH HAS THE OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THINGS LIKE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN. LIKE IT OR NOT POOP RUNS DOWN HILL AND IT ALL STARTS FROM THE TOP. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO JUST STEP FORWARD TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND MOVE ON!!!!!
