  1. I was at the game last night and I don't know why everyone seems to think the two players got an extra foul. I don't know about the guy from Humboldt but I kept up with Tyler's and had the same as the scores table. I think the confusion was on a play near the sideline at the scorers table. The refs just called the ball out on Tyler and not a foul on him. I know alot of people near me thought it was a foul but none was actually called. Either way the officiating stunk. Deron Garrett committed the back court violation right in fromt of me and a couple of officials. It was blantantly obvious. Congrats to Humboldt for not folding.
  2. He's been coach way too long. Had some great talent. Should have won at least 3 championships minimum.
  3. great game on both sides. Tyler showed his dominance until fouling out with about 50 seconds left. Bolivar showed me something tonight. They were down 11 w/ about 4 minutes left and could have easily given up. But instead battle backed hitting some clutch 3's. Some will say coaching beat Giles (possibly true) some will say it was Tyler fouling out (perhaps) I say it was missed free throws. Zack Holt (one of the better free throw shooters) stepped to the line for a one and one that would have iced it. It looked like he was nervous and short armed it allowing for the tying shot to be made with just seconds left. Now this next comment isn't saying I don't wish Giles would have won but I don't think their TEAM really had what it would take to win the state. Sure they have a superstar but even they can't do it alone. Heck even Jordan had to have Pippen. Or was it Pippen that needed Jordan. (just kidding) Good luck to Humboldt at the Boro and good look to Tyler in knoxville. Man I love the vols but they sure do stink.
  4. From what I can tell about Catfish, he is a guy with an inferiority complex with a need to belittle others to enable himself to look in the mirror and not feel inadequate. As for who is the better player, I have not seen Ralston but have seen Tyler a few times. I know Smith dropped 30 on B. Wright in the first meeting this year and if Wright is truly a lottery pick then Smith must be pretty darn good. Waverly people seem to be the only ones arguing on Ralstons behalf and based on that I assume Smith to be the better player. And for wether Smith makes an impact at UT next year. I say that he will but you must remember making an impact at Tennessee really isn't that hard. Anything he could contribute would be an impact as lousy as UT currently is.
  5. If that is all you got then you all got hosed by bolivar. According to the rules you should have gotten half of seating capacity. So unless Bolivar only seats about 500 then you did indeed get hosed.
  6. Go to www.tssaa.org the brackets are already set up. If Bolivar wins their region and subsequent sectional game then they will play a team from either region 1 or 2 in the first round.
  7. Why so low scoring?(13 total 2nd quarter points) are they stalling or is it just tough defense on both ends or just sloppy offense.
  8. Is there a web address you can get the game at?
  9. I don't think it because of the size of the area. Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga are all large areas as well. So what makes west TN so good. I do not dispute the fact that west TN has the better teams (top to bottom) than any other area in the state but can you tell me why? And why does it not correlate to girls basketball, where the better teams are normally from Middle TN i.e. Shelbyville, Mount Juliet and a few years ago Lawrenceburg.
  10. hey willy, i am not trying to dispute what you said; however, are you positive it was the actual team. i knew he was in final 40. My brother was at the game and he thought that they just announced this fact (Tyler being nominated), he did not hear them say he was actually on the final squad. I am pretty sure the players have been told though the general public won't find out until later this month. If you could just clarify why you think he is on the final team I would appreciate it. And I hope he is; but, either way it is a great honor jst to be in the final 40.
  11. You can find the information at www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com The above info. is a little inaccurate, however. According to the website only one of the Delks made the top 100 (can't remember which) along with Smith and Prince from Tennessee. I do like their chances of making the team. Reason being they only have to be at the top at their respective positions. Example: say Smith is small forward, then there will be two small forwards on the east squad, so he only has to beat out other small forwards. Same with the other positions. Also, if they make the team they should find out in the next day or so, and the general public will find out closer to the end of the month. I wish all three the best of luck.
  12. Why does no one state the obvious reason for the GC loss. 1) Poor free throw shooting down the stretch, they miss TWO front ends of a one and one situation. Hit them and game over! 2) Poor coaching. Wright got rests late in the quarters to keep him fresh for the home stretch. Also, 5 seconds left Giles County with a foul to give - you can't let a player drive all the way to the rim then foul him in the act of shooting. The players should have been told to foul after the inbounds pass. If that happend BA would have only had a heave at the end.(Of course BA would have won in OT anyway, but who knows) As for Smith v. Wright I don't think either player got the better of the other. Both played to their strengths. Smith taking people off the dribble, and Wright with post play. Also, they were rarely matched up against each other after the first period. Good game though, not sue about Buzz but I saw his wife was amused and enjoyed the play of Tyler. Only question is will Buzz still be at UT and if not does Tyler opt out as well.
  13. Well,Mr. Neely you impressed me with your respect for your elders with MR. and all. You are also correct, (and I won't say that often). Tyler has only one reason to stay in Pulaski. His family, other than that nothing should keep him here. By the way blue I was merely overcorrecting sportsfan. If he is goig to question peoples thoughts of OakHill he should make sure his statements are 100% acurate.
  14. It is actullay Northeast, but who really cares. Tyler needs to leave GCHS behind and get the training and leadership he needs to make him great.
  15. Granted Tyler struggles with his outside shot. No argument with that. But to say he doesn't perform well his height and skill, come on. He dropped 30+ on Brandon Wright, went for 30+ in game one against Bradley Central, and 30+ against 7'2" kid from Puerto Rico. If anything he performs better against better competition, thus the reason he needs to get out of Giles County. On another note I am a huge Tennessee fan, and think Tyler would be a great addition for them. That being said I hope he doesn't go there mainly because they stink and seems like they always will. UT is a wasting pot for talented basketball players. If he does go there I hope other marquee players go with him.
