Why did the coach cost them a state tournament appearance?

Don't stress about it redbaron515. Scoring single digits in a quarter happens to alot of teams that play DCA. Their defense is why they are so tough. You can't simulate that in practice.

I thought you were positive that they were going to vote for the change. You owe Hickory Husker an apology after all that stuff you said to him. I don't want one. I don't care, but it's nice to see that I was right, you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the TSSAA.

Dresden did beat DCA in camp this summer. Is there a possibility that all three teams from west TN can make it to murfreesboro? Or will one have to eliminate another to go?

jgarrison, It is my opinion that Pigeon Forge is better than a few of those teams in the top 10. They are just as good if not better than than Harpeth, and they are ranked #4. You can't get caught up in the AP Poll. Voters simply look at records. Not level of competition.

Just like they were the best football team in the state by far and just like they were best baseball team in the state last year.

Maybe you should work for TSSAA, since you seem to have it figured out.

I have to say I agree with Hickory Husker on this one. The Board of Control makes the decisions. Hence the name, BOARD OF CONTROL. You guys talk big on here, but you don't have a clue. If you knew Ronnie Carter, Gene Menees, Benard Childress,etc. personally, you would have a different opinion. They don't make $150ger a year and wear $1K suits. They enforce whatever the PUBLIC SCHOOL administrators decide. I personally don't like the proposed new format. I go to both the girls and boys state tournament every year and I love watching high school basketball. I love seeing all the teams from across the state that you hear about but don't get to see live b/c of geographical distances. There's only one other place I'd rather be in March, the Final Four.

What are those girls' names and do they play a lot? Are they hurt or are they sick? If they are sick, they should be back by Friday night. If they aren't going to play, and they are Pigeon Forge's top two ball handlers, that would hurt them. I hope they get healthy soon.

They have to run and press because they don't have much size. They are well coached. But Pigeon Forge should win at home. I am sure DCA is just happy with being in Gatlinburg for the weekend.

Officials can get on my nerves when they call everything like the did. It really takes away from the flow of the game. Clarkrange couldn't get anything going inside once FRA went zone. They aren't near as big as FRA was and couldn't hit from outside consistently. Clarkrange will be allright. Their guards are quick and really get to the basket. Remember, Its just December.

I saw Brandon Wright play on Tuesday. He had 5 or 6 dunks. You lose count after a while. All nasty. Low post feed. Drop step, and bladaw( Got his knees all up and stuff) The drop step dunk is as nice as the fast break dunk. He had a couple of those too. But my favorite dunk would have to be the baseline drive, defender on your hip, one handed dunk. I like it because it's so unexpected at the high school level. Brandon Wright is nasty. And he is a Junior.

Matt Peardon is legit. He is deserving of that award. Why can't you be happy for the kid? Has he signed anywhere to play football? . Nominated doesn't matter. Nobody remembers who was nominated, just who wins.

largec, There is no justification in saying that DCA couldn't beat Boyd this year b/c Boyd killed Goodpasture and Goodpasture would beat DCA. I am now dumber from having read that. If you think Boyd is better, that's fine, but don't base an argument on an opponent that doesn't even play DCA.

Goodpasture did have a good team, but their catcher is way too dramatic. I think he will be even worse next year as a senior. I hope not though (to save himself some embarassment on this web site).

USJ Father and/or Mother, what are talking about on your forum topic description, "pretty good year". You guys won 40 games and made it to the state tournament. That's is a great year. That is the problem with USJ parents. Your young men have been in the state tournament so many times recently that just to make it is not good enough. I get the impression when I watch your team play that if your young men don't win the state championship than their season was just mediocre or pretty good. There is plenty of teams that would swap just to have that experience in playing in the tournament. I know I would have. It is not a personal attack on you, your players or coaches, or the school. 40 W's in three years in amazing. After watching you play this year, I will admit that the players were missing that swaggar that they have had in the past.

Take I-65 north to Madison/ Old Hickory Blvd. exit ( it is exit 92) take a right off the exit. The first red light you come to will be Graycroft Ave. Make a right there. Then take Graycroft all the way down until you get to Due West Ave.( i believe it is the first red light) Make a right on Due West. The school is on the left about a quarter of a mile up. The baseball field is in the back of the school campus. It is not too hard to find. Good Luck. I am pretty sure the game starts at 4.
