Sour grapes my !*@. I never implied the refs were the cause for a loss, but there has been many questionable calls over the years. They never personally caused us to lose a game, but I'm sure other teams wo uld beg to differ.

Blount County officials have always had a bad rep as long as I can remember. This is dating back to the early to mid seventies. Not many coaches around the Knox and East Tennesse area would disagree.

I've never heard anything about powell getting players from karns. My boy Duncan doesn't need to recruit any surrounding areas to be successful. However, based on Karns record in recent years, I think it would be safe to say that someone is definitely going in there and stealing their players. As for predictions for this year, other than the top 2 spots it's too early to tell. What's going on this spring as far as scrimmages go? How many 3-4a teams have already had spring practice?

I agree with some of the posts on here about Maryville's "classless" fans. I know they don't represent the majority of fans out here, but reading some of the crap they post on here, such as this thread topic, makes me resent them. I played for Maryville and lived there for a long while, but recently took my 8th grade son who plays football out of the maryville system. I have enrolled him in a private school in Knoxville and I am so glad I made that decision. I have seen "inside" the maryville program and I just don't like the way things run and to make it even worse, I can't get on here without reading garbage from fans who have no life talk about how maryville owns everybody. Believe me when I say it; Maryville's day is coming and I hope all of you are posting on here then. I know for a fact there are more people like me in Maryville who are planning on doing the same. I second that snagglepus. When I used to be a Maryville fan, a bunch of us thought 3 wrongs actually made a right: recruiting + stealing + counterfeiting = state championships.

By the way, Whittle Springs had more talent last year than they've ever had and , while they may have set a record for wins, how far did they advance in the tournament? They peaked after beating Vine very early in the season. I personally saw them get hammered by a less-talented South Doyle team. On top of that, he had players who were absolutely out of control and he did nothing to instill any discipline. I bet his hero is Jerry Green.

Just curious about what everyone's thoughts are about coaching high school offenses today. Is it better to have several different formations with only a few plays, or better to have only a few formations with several plays? Also, what's everyone's thoughts on what offensive system will become prominent in the next few years? The wing-T seems to be on the decline, as well as the I-formation. Is the split-back, shotgun formation the one we'll see the most of in the near future?
