This game is typically a hard fought game, there's no love lost between the two. To say that players were "stolen" is a bit much when their mom is a MCHS grad. I hate that I'll miss this one, but I'll be listening online. I say Macon 24-17
Westmoreland (1-0) travels to Macon Co (1-0) for the battle of Hwy 52. Both teams are coming off close , hard fought games. Who takes this rivalry game & why?
Sorry that my autocorrect corrected a word that I didn’t catch. Secondly, I offered my option, as if you read my comment, it says “I believe.” Nothing about my comment was holier than thou, I cannot help if you interpreted it that way.
They’ve never, and I’m not denying that they’re bad! I just pointed out what had become the new norm for Maryville. Not taking away their history at all.
Macon County is where I graduated from. I live in East Tennessee. Not a bandwagon jumper, wasn’t in the Rebel wagon at all. And what good does it do for Maryville to “be right back” when they choke?
The new norm is that Maryville cruises through regular season and chokes when they play good competition. Definitely. Not the Quarles quality teams that they were used to.
Any reason I’m particular? My dad said the same thing about the creekbank… but he said that was back in the days of fights in the fields and in the stands too lol
I listened to it in the radio, and I agree with you totally, very predictable. Your Eagles didn’t lay down though, they fought when they could’ve easily laid down when it was 14-0
