public private were not split back than you had large school division and small school division. father ryan won the large dual and brentwood academy won the small classification. but you are right about the high number of transfers that have come from Red Bank imagine some of those teams if those guys would have stayed around? later doug

guys im not blaming the officiating on how the match turned out. it had no reflection on how the match ended up, but we do need to have consistent calls and last night was just a night when they were more consistent with being bad. the call at the end of ryans match was not very good either when i see 2 seconds on the clock and than the ref starts counting and still gives two backpoints there's something wrong there. plus Mara was quick on the whistle the whole match for BOTH sides. like i said i wrestled back in 96 through 99 and i had Mara at many matches and last night he was very much off. And also i did ref two years ago. of course they were jv matches and jv tournaments because i was new but for todays schedule with work and school. (3 night classes) i am not able to do it or i would. i want to give back to the sport that gave to me. but i do think maybe we need to bring up some of the new blood officials and give them some more experience with bigger matches because someday they will be head officials also. but again congrats to both teams very hard fought matches.

very good match to both teams tonight congratualations to Bradley on the win. some very tough wrestlers as usual from them. also good job by my boys from Soddy some very hard fought matches and some that could have went either way. i think it might just be us again in the finals if we dont have to meet in the semis or something like that beforehand. also i just wanted to say that the reffing was horrible tonight im not sure if anyone else saw it that way but both teams had some lousy calls go for them or against them and thats BOTH teams. it would not have affected the outcome of the match but still the ref was not very good tonight as he wasnt very good at the McCallie match. i mean all refs make mistakes but after the last two matches ive seen from him i think he might need to hang it up after this year. just my opinion not sure if anyone else feels that way. but again very hard fought match for both sides imagine what kind of team it would be if we could put the best from both schools together?

i had to jump on here and take my jab at who the most obnoxious fans in TN are. i do agree that Baylor and their fans are very rude sometimes and also very obnoxious. claytor you say that they travel so well to many tournaments but guess what the well of usually are able to do that it goes for many private schools traveling so well! but i also did sit behind the Baylor fans at the McCallie tournament and they were actually pretty well behaved for the most part. just because they cheer for the wrestlers and complain on a call doesnt necessarily mean they are obnoxious maybe they just love their wrestlers and are passionate about the outcome of the match, and this is coming from someone that absolutely dislikes Baylor. i think all schools for the most part have obnoxious fans its a part of sports. since im a Soddy supporter ill throw Bradley in as the most obnoxious fans.

has no one got any of the individual matches for the finals at all? i know about the cbhs guys winning at 152, 189, 215 but who did they wrestle and who else won and lost. any help would be appreciated.

i found in the online pittsburgh paper that Soddy Daisy did win the team title for the tournament. with two champs for sure John Lane(won most valuable lower weights), and did not say the other but i would say Kyle James. fuller lost in the finals. as did Paul Campbell 9-2 in 189 finals. besides that there were no other results published. congrats my boys from Soddy Daisy later doug

blue your out of your mind, that was one of taters worst matches i have ever seen him officiate. he's usually very good but last night he was badly off. there were so many questionable calls at that match for both sides not just soddy's. if you want maybe i can get you a copy of the match and you can watch it. i have watched it and during the match with the blood pumping maybe to you it didnt look as bad but watch it on film and maybe your see different. also there should have been two points awarded to lane for near fall points at the end of the first if you want to go around saying who should have gotten points or not. also its very easy to ride someone out when you keep the hips covered.

lane was taking the kid down and letting him go in the first period. than he ended giving up a 2 reversals and 3 back points to the kid. the rest of the points were from letting the kid go. the kid was getting tired of getting cut each time and would stay on his knees making it hard for john to cut him and take him down again.

i would think that for right now that you will not see a leen vs. lane match. i have a feeling since this is a dual that there will to much moving of people around with weights to see them two go at it. the best bet would be at the McCallie tournament this year. but good luck to my boys from Soddy Daisy i have a final that night or i would be there. later

hey, erika no longer wrestles for Soddy. but yes as most have said i believe that there should be a seperate team for girls to wrestle on in high school. and if your school does not have a team than they should be permitted to wrestle for another school that is the closest. Soddy Daisy girls wrestle Red Bank November 20, at 7 at the round gym(Soddy Daisy). should be real fun stuff. i know our girls are getting ready and should be able to hold off red bank as usual.

i think this could be a very good game, if soddy comes to play. have not seen much of Oak Ridge but for all the scores that i have seen they seem very tough. both teams seem to have very good defenses and can throw and run. so depending on what teams show up this could be a very good game. i hope to be there. also SD189 this is doug, can you give me any stats on your rushing stats from friday night? each player. you all had 400+ yards rushing!! very good game congrats. later cobra

well, i did play for soddy a few years ago. and i will say that with the tallent that we had we should have won a few state championships. or at least went farther in the playoffs than we did. with tallent like lydell blue, and avery, chuck losey, jarvis smith, robby massengale, a kicker like david collet. we had the tallent but alot of times not the caoching. i was on the sidelines i know alot of the calls and calling 34 g georgia 20 times a game wont win you many state championships. even with price there he was mainly defense and coach ryan offense. and with the tallent offensively that we had we should be playing for a state title every year. but i will say that coach ryan is a lot like randy sanders. way to conservative and thats why we are where we are at. but i wish my boys all the luck in the world this year and maybe we can bring home a state title. with the qb, running backs, and recievers we have we will be much tougher than some people say. and also people do not look at scrimmages as any more than what they are. a practice against another team. many times during scrimmages in my four years we got beat by teams that we beat pretty badly during the season. this is the time when coaches find out who can and who cant play. so take them with a grain of salt. you all get way to fired up about beating someone but guess what. i dont see that winning a state championship at the end of the year. anyways. coaching has been one of the big reasons why soddy has not moved to the next level. plus the reason why alot of kids that probably could play do not play. later cobra

i would have to say barber of cleveland as the best back. ive seen him play and hes a man child. hate to see what he might do against my boys from Soddy. i wish them all the luck. later

holly brown is one of the pitchers for next year. ive never seen her pitch but she pitched once this year against brainerd. im not sure what class she is but ive heard shes pretty good.

the problem with that is what would you do to the teams that are about 5 or 10 miles from chattanooga. because it seems most people on here dont know where eastern ends and central time begins. because i live in chattanooga and can almost throw a rock and hit central time. so would they have to drive all the way to nashville to play. thats why you cant split the state with middle tenn and east tenn by time zones. if that was the way all of you say chattanooga is east tenn, but than south pittsburg would be middle tenn because its in central time zone. just cant be done. split it at murfreesboro thats the middle of the state to me.

yeah 4fstpitch but why dont you go ahead and look at the two years before those two you named and tell me who won? year in year out soddy is there where was dickson county and beech this year?

mr wizard, i think your comments about soddy are uncalled for. number one why dont you congratulate them for a good season and a state championship. second off if you want to compare records when can do that all day long. soddy daisy 6 losses. 2 to pisgah 3 time state champs alabama. yes and you did beat them in that tourney but you also lost to hartselle which soddy beat 5-1. soddy's other losses 2 decatur, al, one to baylor which came on at the end of the year, and one to goodpasture which i was at the game watched personally and could have gone either way. Good pastures losses, 2 to beech which soddy beat in soddy tourney, 1 to east central mississippi, 1 to hoover alabama which soddy also beat, and 1 to hartselle. and one tie with greenbrier another state champ team. in the last six games of season soddy gave up no runs. goodpasture gave up 2. all in all seems like soddy has a little room to talk. sounds like two great teams to me. lastly congrats to all state champion teams. especially soddy and goodpasture which i met some of the coaches personally at the soddy tournment. very nice people congrats on a great season and good luck next year to all. later

i do think that goodpasture is a very good team. they were better on that particular day at soddy field. i was there and watched the whole game. but remember any team can be beat. but i will have to say that i do think that Soddy is the best team in any classification in the state considering their only loss to tennessee opponents were baylor and goodpasture both in the finals of their persepctive classes and i think goodpasture was beaten by beech twice which did not even make it to state in AAA. not saying beech is not a good team just they got beat by them twice. but again good luck to Soddy Daisy, Boyd Buchanan, and Baylor bring back titles to chattanooga.

just read chattanoogan.com and they had it posted that soddy daisy beat cumberland county 1-0. i congratulate soddy and wish them luck tom. in the finals against either hunters lane or cumberland county. they said it was a pitchers battle with soddy scoring in the first and that was it for the ballgame. Good Luck Soddy bring home the state trophy.

i hate to say antwan but im not sure that you have ever been to chattanooga than. i live here and i consider myself to live more in middle tenn than east tenn. it still takes me about 5 hours or so to get to the eastern border and about 6 to 7 to get to memphis so it might be more toward the east but its still more in the middle of the state. also you can drive less than 10 minutes from my house and be in central time so were not all that far from the time zone change. but i do agree that the fling should be in middle tennessee. i would probably go and support my team(soddy daisy) if they played in nashville or so. thats not that far from here but im surely not driving out to timbuktu to watch them play. sorry but i think it would be best for all schools involved if it were in middle tenn such as nashville. maybe one day we can all agree on a good place to put it and keep it there and do the best for what really matters the players. i wish all teams at the fling good luck and a great trip and to be careful. a special good luck to the Lady Trojans keep up the good work. later cobra
