Again, did we win the state titles that Cleveland is now?????? Soddy has 4 state titles in their entire history as a program, Cleveland has that in the past 4 years! Kevin didn't come from Soddy, he started at Red Bank just like his brother, Henry talked them into coming to wrestle at Soddy instead of staying at Red Bank, same with Rabbit. So yeah we have had some really good wrestlers, some good kids that came through the kids club back in the day, BUT AGAIN, were we EVER as dominant as Cleveland is right now? But dang sure I would put Henry and Ashley against about any pair of coaches in the country! YET we were never dominant, rarely won state but yet Cleveland is about to rattle off 7 in a row with no sign of stopping and and they won 3 in a row 2013, 2014, 2015 before having a few off years before they came roaring back! Also, since you would prob be in the know, what is the budget of SDWA? How far away are you from 54,000 as your club budget, or have you been anywhere close to 134k in the past 5 years?

Since you don't seem to understand! I love Coach Henry, but did he have ANYWHERE CLOSE to the same level of success that Cleveland has? I remember a few 2nd and 3rd place state finishes and very few 1st place finishes, Cleveland is in another stratosphere compared to ANY program in TN HISTORY for any sport! If you have a dominant run at Soddy, do you think you would have the same in large school division? I know it's what we have now, but I remember when we Soddy competed with Bradley, Franklin(another school that has disappeared), Overton and even before the D2 split we competed with Baylor and McCallie! Would that happen now? Also go ask Ulric and Shane and see if they do not think with a million dollars or so they couldnt get that program up and humming even quicker than they are already doing ALONG with building a powerhouse that might even be able to compete if they were in large school? Money makes EVERYTHING easier, its the reason why private schools are private, why the best wrestling teams in the country like Blair do what they do each and every year, to not see that is one of the most foolish things I have ever heard and to imagine having a budget like a Blair as a public school and think that wouldn't help is laughable! Also, I am not trying to belittle Clevelands program, just like I'm not with Soddy's! But if you solely think hard work out there is the only reason people succeed to the level of a Cleveland there is no talking to you or reasoning with you! There are millions of hard working coaches across the country that don't have a fraction of the success Cleveland has had but are great even amazing coaches! heck, I would have loved to have seen what coach Henry would have done with a million dollar benefactor for the program back in the day!

I do know you are trying to follow a similiar program to what Cleveland is doing, I also know they have some of the best coaches in the south also for their program from Ulric to Shane as well as Andrew helping lead the charge! I'm grateful they have put that effort into the program where before we had been left in the dust by Hixson as well as Signal. If I am embarrassing you, maybe you need to use your actual brain and understand that just like EVERYTHING in this world, having money opens a heck of a lot of doors that aren't available for everyone else! If you find that as embarrassing to the program, I hate to break it to you that maybe you aren't thinking very well!

you do understand you won state championships with Jake Yost as head coach, what was it 2 in a row before he left to go to McCallie? You had a down year or 2 with joey and Josh as head coaches before the current run? I mean maybe I am misremembering things but I'm pretty sure that is how the last 10 or so years have been there and that started with Jake Yost as head coach and I think Josh was a head coach for a short period of time before stepping down.

Again, the question was asked, do you believe that without Allan(has two L’s) support do you think the high school team or even HC would be anywhere close to what it is today? Allan paid for the HC program to be started, he paid a heck of a lot of money to get its foundation built just like he gave the money to build a big fancy wrestling only building. So again, maybe you outwork some people now by going to these great big tournaments, BUT without his money to start it all you aren’t even in the position to take advantage now! It’s like starting a business and a good friend gives you the seed money to start it, now you are making millions but in the end if that friend didn’t give the seed money to begin with the business never takes off! The side up there wants to keep pretending they outwork everyone, without even acknowledging the fact that you wouldn’t be in the position now to outwork anyone if the money hadn’t been given. In the end without Allan Jones doing what he did Josh vision never comes to fruition and Cleveland is about where they were(pretty decent program but 2nd fiddle to Bradley as they were in the 90’s and throughout the 2000’s). Heck you were 2nd fiddle to Soddy back in the day before they lost a bunch of students and now considered a small school. Listen, it doesn’t take away where your kids are now and the success of the program, however it’s asinine to think you are anywhere where you are right now without Allan Jones and there isn’t a program in the state that has that kind of advantage. As kid gloves said, there isn’t anyone on here that wouldn’t also take the same and if I won the lottery tomorrow and could give you are dang right I’d give a million or so to Soddy wrestling club and the high school team. I’d try and make them the small school Cleveland! So just not sure why all Cleveland fans want to get butthurt calling a spade a spade.

We all would, would be dumb not to take the money, however I’d also give credit where it’s due if it was offered! There’s nothing wrong with it and it wouldn’t take away from the program, I guess they think it does.

Cowcatcher: region duals will start at 6 Thursday at the round gym at Soddy! matchups will be Soddy Daisy vs Red Bank. Hixson vs Signal with winners up after those matchups! Like last year this should be a fun matchup and I’m hoping it’s a different result than last year. After that I have a feeling both Signal and Soddy win their sectional matches and make the state tourney.

Keep defending, doesn’t matter to me. He prob wasn’t good enough to wrestle and that happens, he wanted to go back to baseball and I’m good with that. So, no I don’t have a grudge towards them for it, Josh has coached many friends of mines kids and he runs the best Club in TN and maybe the SE. so no ill will for the club with that, I mean if he had wanted to stick with wrestling we would be at Pride now instead. So defend away, but in the end the entire question that I stated is completely true! Would Josh’s vision came close to where it is today without a huge amount of money being poured out by Allan Jones? Without him there is no Jones center so no seperate wrestling room. So like totallyleo state before, they most likely have to share space with any other teams that Cleveland has. HCWC prob isn’t funded like it was to begin with and I would be willing to bet Cleveland isn’t the team they are now at all. I mean ifs and buts were candy and nuts and it did happen, but let’s not pretend that their world didn’t change for wrestling in Cleveland TN because Allan Jones wanted it to change after years of watching Al Miller struggle to keep up with Steve L and Bradley and all the State titles that they won! It’s a simple thing to just say, yeah, most likely we aren’t where we are now without Jones and the money he’s invested into the program as just hard work sometimes isn’t the only thing involved with being successful!

So he literally bit himself in the but(t) with his own proof a match was offered with no response because it literally started with you come to us! Yep! But with that rush of remembrance for sure a WC for Piper would make her the best wrestler in the state and well the world at her age group and many others!

I don’t think many of them have at all, I know askew wrestles for Georgia usually during the offseason. It was just a question I had as I was wondering what the rules are against it in other states.

Awe, thank goodness you 2 finally can read, I’ve posted my name on here multiple times never have been scared to put my name to something or make someone figure out who I am, so it’s only taken you two 30-40 years to learn how to read. I was almost worried about you all!

It would be Allan not Alan, if you are from Cleveland and don’t know that I’m not sure what to say

Don’t believe Flavin can make it to 113, heck that’s where he missed weight last year and didn’t even get to qualify for state because of it, 120 is the lowest he will be able to drop and you will have Flavin, Duncan and Lewis, but also within that is 2 Uhorchuks and none of my Soddy boys are going to beat either of those 2, as I said it depends on how much Signal can move things around. As far as 106, I give that edge to Higdon although I love Luke. Higdon has been here before as he’s not a freshman. So I don’t think that matchup is 50/50. Jenkins is an ok wrestler as is Caden, but I’m not sure either can beat Davis so you most likely have wins by signal right in a row from 106, 113, 120 or 126 if they move JoJo up. Their 126 is actually very solid with Lynch also which lengthens that lineup. Soddy needs to move Lewis up to 138 and give up 132 if that is where Ethan stays but I think JoJo and Ethan both pin whoever they get even if that is Duncan and Lewis who are some of the top wrestlers on Soddy. Now Soddy wins most of the middle and upper weights, although Davis beats a very good Rawlinson so it depends on what moves are made there also. I’d be pleasantly surprised if Soddy wins by more than 10.

Not so sure about that. Even in just rankings Signal has someone ranked higher than Soddy at 106, 113, 120, 132 and 175. While 126 kid is even ranked for Signal. Soddy most likely loses 3 and maybe even to pin when facing Jojo and Ethan along with Jackson. If Signals win the other 2 it could make a long night. Soddy most likely wins with Duncan, Cosper, Turner, Ross and maybe with Laxton and with Heavy’s you just never know. It depends on who has to send out first at what weight. We haven’t seen much of Signal but they have a good team and some good coaches, I don’t think there is any way Soddy beats them by 20 although I would love to!

If I had a copy like you did as lap dog for Joey I’d post it and make you look even more a fool, kind of like how your text posted made you still look a fool. Especially when you distinctly stated the offers in no way stated the match had to be at Cleveland and yet the first dang text was wanting them to come to the Cleveland Duals and wasn’t even a straight dual with them LOL. You have made yourself look like a fool this entire time and your smoking gun ended up being an Elmer Fudd gun with Bugs putting his finger in the barrel! I should have just put RIP on your grave at that time, but you just continue to dig deeper, sooner or later you might just reach the other side of the world. Maybe not let that many sign up lol, I mean if you cannot handle the amount that does, go ahead and turn them down, did in my soccer programs before, make a cap and go with it because obviously there aren’t enough coaches to handle that amount. Oh well

Yeah, when you make a promise maybe you should see it through, the first time he screwed Ben and wouldn’t even give any money back, much less MATCH the money which we were all told he does for every school wasn’t the last time he did it either, so Ben gave up working with Allan! So quit beating your drum if he matches every dollar that is raised when the liar wouldn’t even do it! as far as Bryant, who knows what will happen with that, I sure wouldn’t want to run the Bradley program myself, especially with it being open for which school you want to go to and wrestlers are going to pick Cleveland plain and simple. Would much rather have a job outside that county and hope to keep my kids at my own school and build from there!

It wasn’t a high school kid, was another U12 or below kid. So yeah, I’d much rather have Steve who I’ve known since 1995 sitting in his corner even though he was wrestling for HC. Afterwards he talked to me out in the hall and said to come by sometime after my son told him that he had asked for new partners at practice because his always just wanted to screw around and not listen, which made it hard for him to learn. As I said before, maybe the program has outgrown having newbies in it and just focus on those that have been in the program, heck I recommended HC to begin with to his dad because I’ve had friends kids go through the program, some that were state champs for even other high schools. It just didn’t work out for us because he didn’t get any attention, it works great for others just didn’t for us! No I’ll will on that either, if he had stuck with it we would be at pride now. Sadly he didn’t want to stick with it because it wasn’t fun, oh well on to the next sport.

Yes there was, this was before the 2021/2022 season and way before Joey tried to weasel a dual for this season when it was the point that most everyone’s schedule is already set! Also as the text Trey posted, the first time he even wrote Rex was to get a dual setup for them to come to the Cleveland Duals which Baylor has done before, but tell me if you can when was the last time Cleveland came to Baylor to wrestle a dual? Also it proves on the schedule that unless they have the duals at their place OR they have no choice(such as district and region matches) they don’t go anywhere else to wrestle duals in state of TN! You either come to them or good luck getting a match!

Which is why my youngest about left HCWC to go to Pride for the beginner program instead of being ignored as he was at HC, but up to that point he did jack crap for Ben. Maybe he didn’t like Ben, I have no idea but the damage was done when he turned his back on Ben and it screwed that program. So yeah I talked to Steve, he sat in our corner at the Bradley beginners tourney last season since we could only get a kid form the HC program to sit in his corner while a few other kids had 2 coaches in theirs. But, no I have no idea what I saw or talked to Steve about! You are so FOS it’s prob coming out your ears!

Because you said it wasn’t 2 of those 3 and I know the Sturgills and Normans and I haven’t heard anything from them. It’s been said that it’s 2 guys that were going to win state titles and so that leaves me to believe Askew and the new kid. I’ll try and reach out and see if it’s either Hunter or Max and maybe I’m wrong.
