  1. I haven't followed it as closely this year, but here are my predictions and some others to keep an eye on. 106 Higdon (Signal) over Stinnett (Upperman) 113 Myhan (Soddy) over Lewis (Samuel Everett) Dark horses – Graham (Station Camp), Lopez (Millington) 120 Jenkins (Soddy) over Thompson (Crockett) Dark horses – Bolden (Millington), Allen (Gibbs) 126 Phelps (Upperman) over Moungsiharat (Soddy) Dark horses – Eller (Gibbs), Davis (Signal) 132 J. Uhorchuk (Signal) over Flavin (Soddy) Dark horse – Ford (Gibbs) 138 E. Uhorchuk (Signal) over Tompkins (Watertown) Dark horse – don’t sleep on Laxton (Soddy)! 144 Finstad (Gibbs) over Moore (Cascade) Dark horse – Davis (Whitwell) 150 Cosper (Soddy) over Mills (Montgomery Central) 157 Howard (Pigeon Forge) over Avans (Tullahoma) Dark horse – Cope (Samuel Everett) 165 Hood (Pigeon Forge) over Davis (Munford) Dark horses – Wysong (Soddy), Weitzel (Livingston), Solomon (Eagleville), Moore (TN) 175 Davis (Signal) over Campbell (Seymour) 190 Wade (Soddy) over Sudderth (Alcoa) Dark horse – Beck (Station Camp) 215 Bingham (AC) over Click (Samuel Everett) Dark horse – Retting (Eagleville) 285 Davis (Soddy) over Tatum (Tullahoma) Team Score 1. Soddy 2. Signal 3. Pigeon Forge I see Soddy winning by 30-40 points at least. Scary to think if they had Bull, Rawlinson, and P. Laxton healthy. I think they would have had 9 finalists.

  3. Sounds like things are shaping up to make for an exciting weekend.
  4. An all boys boarding school that has all the resources in the world coming off a state championship and they can’t field a full lineup has me SMH. 🤔 Very cool seeing Ms. Sturgill out there. What a competitor! Not a fan of the rule though that prevents her from competing in the girls state tournament just because she wrestled a boy in one dual meet. Is this a T$$AA rule or common in other states as well?
  5. Back to the original topic. Does anyone have any score updates from last night or today? Who all has punched their ticket?
  6. Give me the Blue Raiders by 18-22 points. Should be a great atmosphere!
  7. LOL! You won me over with this post. Consider me on the Villars train now! #MakeCoachTGreatAgain
  8. I would expect Soddy Daisy to beat everyone ranked outside of Cleveland. I think it would be close but in a dual meet I think they would have a slight edge over McCallie, Baylor and Ryan. They would beat Summit and Nolensville by 15-20.
  9. I would have expected Johnny Davis to win the 285 bracket. Did Gentle just catch him? Also, very surprised Mayhan did not place at 113 when I checked the brackets. Hope he can find his groove. Loved watching him wrestle last year. Will Cleveland do a live stream for the McCallie match this year?
  10. 1. Cleveland v. Bradley … high school wrestling doesn’t get any better than this. If you’ve attended one of these duals, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, you need to! 2. Baylor v. McCallie … now that the Big Blu is back, this rivalry is back to what made it so great for so many years. I love how invested the students get for this one. 3. Soddy v. Signal … the blue collar/white collar clash both pride themselves in and apparent disdain these two have for each other has made this one entertaining to follow since Soddy dropped down to small school. 4. Baylor v. Father Ryan … you know it’s a good one when parents are on the verge of wrestling each other in the stands lol
  11. Updated article indicating he’s being investigated by the Department of Children’s Services for allegations of child abuse or neglect. What??? All I will say is the rumors I had heard prior to this had nothing to do with child abuse or neglect. I really hope these are just allegations and nothing more. https://www.local3news.com/local-news/update-dcs-now-investigating-suspended-soddy-daisy-wrestling-coach/article_a8a8a2cc-f9b4-11ee-8a4d-5bd9facd30f6.html#
  12. I have only heard positive things about Coach Winesburg. I have also heard some of the accusations which are concerning especially considering the police is involved but they sure don’t seem like the coach I’ve heard so many positive things about prior to this. @cobrakid8 do you have any information? Hoping you can confirm that none of this is true.

  14. Can't wait to see this all go down on Saturday! McCallie really made a statement with their win over Baylor last week but Father Ryan is the best team and I think they beat both Baylor and McCallie by 10-15 points.
