Congrats to the Lady Mustangs on their 7-5 victory over Ooltewah. Holly Thomas hit a three run homer in the top of the first for Ooltewah. Walker Valley's Lauren Whaley followed by hitting a 2 run homer in the bottom of the first. Thomas and Whaley both came on in relief and pitched well for their teams.

It will probably change next season with the opening of the new school and the loss of players. I imagine they will drop to AA after next year also. They have a very good team and a great coach along with a beautiful new home field.

Walker Valley beat McMinn County 4-0.

Walker Valley lost to Father Ryan 4-3 WV defeated Vilonia, AR 7-2 WV defeated Decatur, AL 3-2 WV defeated Walhalla, SC 4-3

I thought it was a very well run tournament and we really enjoyed getting the extra games on Thursday.

Who played in the Championship and who won it? Riverdale was playing Creekwood in one semifinal and I think Goodpasture was playing in the other but I am not sure who it was against.

What were the final results? Was I correct about the Bledsoe runs allowed?

Polk has shown tremendous improvement over the last few years. Having the same coaches for a few years helps. However, Boyd is in a class with the elite teams in the state. The state should have never put them in this district. The multiplier rule is a joke. All privates should be in Div II. If they want to fight over scholarship vs. non scholarships within the privates than they should have A & AA for DII. Just my opinion. I know the privates don't like it but I think it makes sense. The multiplier was a cop out decision.

Boyd will win 5AA hands down. They are loaded as usual. Sweetwater will probably take second. Meigs and Central will be battling for third. Boyd is probably the favorite to win the region and should have a good chance to win the State this year. Just my opinion.

GPS beat Walker Valley 2-1. Walker's Lauren Whaley pitched a three hitter with 11 K's in the tough loss. Adrianne Lamberson for GPS kept Walker's hitters off balance all night long with her drop and change.

Not sure, but I heard Bradley lost to Polk County and then turned around and beat East Ridge last night. Did Bradley play well or did East Ridge have an off-night?

Bledsoe could probably win this tournament without giving up three runs the whole time. Good luck coach V.

No. Next year Meigs may be able to. They had a great group of 8th graders this past season.

Sorry, but this was a topic on 5AAA not 6AAA. Region was not mentioned by anyone on here. Everyone will worry about district first and then we will see who needs to worry about Soddy. People always have to go through Soddy Daisy. That is a testament to your great program. However, Soddy had the best team the last two years and Beach and Red Bank were able to get through Soddy. Best team does not always win. Beach played with much more heart in 2004. Red Bank got hot at the right time in 2005. Anyway, back to 5AAA, it should be a very tough district just like it has been in girls basketball. Good luck to all and hopefully a 5AAA team will be playing in the Region Championship.

Rhea County also had a pretty good middle school team this year as well.

Walker Valley lost three great players from last year's State Runner-up team. Out of the 3 Seniors, one has a broken collar bone and one is still with basketball. They only have 2 juniors and one of them is still with basketball. They are young and it will probably take them a while to gel, but I think they will be fine. Cleveland doesn't have a whole lot of players, but they have a quality senior class with two good pitchers. Bradley has some big hitters and two senior pitchers. Haven't seen McMinn in a while but they have a good pitcher. Cumberland is always tough. Rhea County has a good pitcher from what I hear. It should be interesting. I say Cleveland and Cumberland will both be playing for the #1 seed come tournament time while Bradley and WV will be playing for #3.

I think that Roark is teaching at Riverdale. Can't remember the new coach's name but he teaches at Central. Nice guy, I am just bad with names.
