  1. Might as well throw my hat into the ring..... Our offense will be hopefully stepping it up this week!! Last week against Marion, all we did was rely on the run. Now, granted we had around 40 rushes for 220 yards, but as every Alcoa fan knows if we give that many touches to Toney, Foster, and Tyson then we should have way over 220 yards. Marion did well shutting our run down. Yes, we broke some long runs, but I've never seen our backs get tackled for a loss or have no gain in one football game (not even Maryville)! If this happens against Milan, which it most certainly can due to them probably having a better, faster D than Marion, then we need to open up the passing game more, especially to Tyler!!! He had 2 catches last week, one was a little screen he took for about 6 yards, the second was another short pass where Tyler absolutely trucked not one but two defenders directly in his path to the endzone. My point is if our run game isn't very effective against Milan, then I expect Tyler to catch at least 8 passes. Only good things come when he has the rock in his hands, so why not feed him the ball more? To all the Milan fans, have a safe commute over to middle Tennessee. Hope you guys bring the whole town!
  2. Thank you for the kind words! Always good to hear something like that the same week that our two schools slug it out in the Boro. Good luck to you.....well maybe not so much..... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  3. As mentioned before how many schools around Tennessee boast the kind of talent year in and year out that Alcoa does, besides maybe Maryville and BA? Want proof? 2001- Michael George (back) 2005- Brandon Warren (lineman) 2006- Chris Shiverdecker (back) 2007- Randall Cobb (back) 2008- Tyler Robinson (lineman) Not to mention Dustin Lindsey got absolutely robbed of the award in 2004 and 2005. I personally believe that from 2005-2007 Alcoa has had ten players that could've played D-1 ball, (Fiegler, Warren, Lindsey, White, Sykes, Lanxter, Shiverdecker, Cobb, Sommer, and Hodge). There's at least 3 future D-1 athletes on the present squad as well, including big Mr. Robinson. Tyler you are very deserving of the award you're a great player, just gonna get better too, and your a fine young man, they couldn't have picked a better winner. Congratulations!! Now lets make keep that streak of Mr. Football winners alive next year, and let's keep producing freak athletes!
  4. Wow, you act like tornadogold was supposed to know that gentleman is handicapped or something, so don't go saying that he's classless just because he didn't know that he was handicapped. He wasn't being rude, seeing as he congratulated Marion different times for their effort. And, about the band playing maybe you're right the boys maybe couldn't hear it and maybe they weren't distracted by it, but us....you know, the FANS, not the PLAYERS could hear the band and for them to play during our pre-game ritual and continuously play while Alcoa had the ball is classless and I'm sure many fans of many different schools would agree with me, plus I thought it was not allowed. I'm sure you'd be saying the same thing to us if you heard our band playing at full blast the whole time Marion was on offense.
  5. Why shouldn't he be? If our defense limits an offense like Maryville, who looks like a college offense when running their plays , to 20 points than I think he like many other Alcoa fans are confident that our boys can hold Milan to less than twenty. Rankinated, haha since when has Darryl Warren been our main back? He's got a world of potential but our main backs are Jaron Toney, Cameron Foster, and our super-sized sophmore FB Taharin Tyson. IMO, Darryl should be moved to WR or TE, we've got plenty of capable backs, his talent needs to be on the field more though.
  6. After 74 straight I find it hard to bet against the Rebels, until they're beat there's no way I can go against them. Maryville 27 Hillsboro 19
  7. Yes you're right about that, and I'm not saying our offense played terrible at all. I'll just put it this way, considering I believe that Milan's defense if better than Marion's defense: We scored 30 points against Marion, but one TD was pretty much thanks in part to a great INT by Sam. So say that didn't happen against a team, who I once again believe has a better D than Marion and our offense played the way it did tonight, I would think that it would be possible that we would score less than say 23 points. Now flip it to the other side of the ball; I simply believe that Milan's offense will be better, if not considerably better than Marion's. We gave up 14 points to them tonight, I'm only to assume that Milan can score around 17-21 points on us, and very possibly a few more. So if you really look at it our offense will have to play better to beat Milan. I am going to be strongly supporting my boys as much as any of the other passionate fans that we've got, that's not the issue at all my friend, and I believe just like the next Alcoa fan that we're going to be hoisting our 5th gold ball come around 9:30 CT on Dec.5 . I'm just as nervous as I've been in a while about playing Milan, and feel like this is the best chance a team has to knock us off, discluding Maryville, honestly since the '04 Huntingdon game. I'm sure there will be plenty of fans state wide that believe Milan will win this game now, and it's a scary reality to face when you EXPECT a 5th staight. Once again ..... Alcoa 21 Milan 17
  8. Alcoa fans, what does yall's offense do best? Do yall have a big time running back, or a great QB? Any big time lineman to watch? etc. We got a couple of talented tailbacks in Junior Jaron Toney #15 and Senior Cameron Foster #36. Both run at about 5'10, 170 lbs. and are super quick. Both also have the capability of playing college ball. #2 Sophmore Taharin Tyson, cousin of one Alcoa's greatest RB's Dustin Lindsey(and a very striking resemblance at that), is an absolute load. He's got good footwork and he doesn't think twice about trucking LB's and DB's. Combine all that with a 5'11, 235 lb. frame, you've got yourself a future D-1 fullback. Our QB Senior Chase James has been a real nice surprise this year. He's got a pretty good arm and is pretty quick. He has about 25 TD's to 5 INT's, while running for 200 yards, and returning punts here and there and playing a solid safety. He's being courted by schools such as Marshall and MTSU. Senior #3 Sam Thompson is our do-everything player, and he does everything very well. He's our best WR, he can haul in the long ball or he can make a guy miss and pick up a big gain on a little swing pass, on defense he can lay you out at linebacker with a near perfect tackle or drop back to his most familar position, strong safety, and make a game changing interception kind of like he did tonight. He's got good speed, smarts, technique, character, and offers and interest from Ivy League schools and service academies; basically your prototypical player, oh yeah he also handles kickoffs, field goals, and punting duty. #4 Steven Isom (So.) amd #84 A.J. Young (Sr.) are a couple of lanky receivers, running around 6'3 that both have dependable sets of hands. The best set of hands on the team belong to our 6'4, 260 lb. Junior tight end # 89 Tyler Robinson(if you haven't already heard of him he's up for Mr. Football). Defenders probably should be advised to stay out of his path when he has the ball because they will be left lying on the turf wondering what hit them way after he's ran over them and celebrated his touchdown. Tyler is a special player, with a bright future ahead of him, and I'm sure he's only going to get bigger and stronger. He will be considered one of the states top ten players in the state next year, and the offers will come piling in for T-Rob, you can bank on that. Our line is pretty large, and it would probably be considered large in any state classification. We average around 260 on the line, and our four biggest lineman are underclassmen with 5'8, 215 lb. Connor Miles as our lone senior at center. A couple of our lineman Junior #61 Marcel Walden (6'4, 280) and Sophmore Derek Evans (6'3, 260) have the size to play on Saturdays. Of course there's no need to really say much about our defense, plus I don't feel the need to write another short novel. Basically they're very quick, very fast, don't miss many tackles, and don't give up many points....that sums it up pretty well. Hope that gives you a few clues about how we roll..... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. Well, we partly we played bad and partly Marion's D played great, especially against the run. We broke a few long runs and had a few long passes. We need to find our big TE Tyler Robinson a whole lot more then we did tonite. I don't think Milan would be able to score enough to get to 21, but at the same time I don't know if we can either. Bottom line our offense played average at best and Marion's D played great.
  10. If Alcoa plays like they did tonight chances are we'll get beat! I expect to see a real low score in next weeks contest Alcoa- 21 Milan- 17
  11. For the most part Alcoa is just a great team all around. Not alot of D-1 superstars everywhere like our teams of the last 4-5 years. However, our TE/DE Tyler Robinson #89 is an absolute stud. I think almost all Alcoa fans will agree that Tyler is our best player
  12. Alcoa is very young this season, but we will also be losing 12 seniors as well. The thing is our Tornadoes are deep! We don't have that big-time homerun threat like we've had in years past and we don't have a roster full of players like Joei Fiegler, Brandon Warren, Dustin Lindsey, Logan Love, Rae Sykes, Kyrus Lanxter, Chris Shiverdecker, Bart Hicks, Randall Cobb, Brian Sommer, or Troy Hodge. What we do have is a deep lineup with smart and gifted athletes, perhaps not with the offensive firepower of past Alcoa teams, but definitely the best defensive unit. Oh yeah, we're not completely talentless this year. I would say we have at least 3 future D-1 athletes on our roster in SS/WR Sam Thompson, FB Taharin Tyson, and our 6'4, 260 lb. TE/DE and Mr. Football finalist Tyler Robinson. Marion fans will probably be seeing the best player they've seen all year with Tyler. Great strength, smarts, hands, and speed for his size makes his services wanted by many schools nationwide.
  13. I think that Oneida and Lipscomb are going down
  14. If our offense plays the way it did against CAK and for the 2nd and 3rd quarters tonight then we might be in for a good game, however I don't see Marion being able to score more than 7 points, if any on our defense. I mean come on if they can only muster 7 against Boyd-Buchanan then how do they expect to score against us. Alcoa- 26 Marion- 7 (late in the game)
  15. BTW again, does anyone know if there's a live streaming of this game tonight on the internet?
  16. Alcoa- 42 Loudon- 7 Alcoa wins easily!! BTW, did anyone happen to read the artice on Chase on the front page of unauthorized website.com? I would've loved too, put it costs like 9$ a month for a membership to read the article!!!! If someone read it then please enlighten me!
  17. Alcoa wins this one pretty big. Why? For one you better believe that coaches Rankin and Nix aren't going to allow the type of play they saw last night for instance bad ball security and lackadasical play in the first half, and also the Redskins will have to be able to pass on Alcoa because CAK did with a little success (Fromke: 11-35 174 yds.). I don't think Loudon has NEAR the passing game that CAK has, and they will more than likely have little to no success running the ball against our D. Alcoa 33 Loudon 7
  18. CAK was up 7-0 early in the second. They made it 28-14 with about 8 minutes to go. It didn't rain one drop
  19. First and foremost, congrats goes out to the CAK Warriors and the great season they had. They played an absoultely amazing game tonite, and if the phrase "leave it all on the field" isn't appropriate when describing CAK's performance than I don't know what is. CAK's defense played really well, stopping our high powered rushing attack for the most part. They passed the ball with a little success, especially deep, and showed that our secondary may need to tighten it up just a little bit. Anyway, CAK gets many kudos from me tonite; that was a very well played game and the players have absolutely nothing to hang their head about. Now for my Tornadoes..... Chase made some bad passes tonite, and had one of his worst games of the year. Most of our passing success was due to Sam taking short out passes and turning them upfield to gain a few extra yards. Cameron had a few good runs but a bad fumble, it was obvious Jaron was running better and more determined tonite (he might've had a fumble as well though). Taharin wasn't very effective and also needs to hold on to the ball, although he doesn't fumble much. Sam was the player of the game, IMO. An INT, 4-5 PBU's, a handful of catches and some impressive YAC, as well as doing an above average job kicking off. Receivers like Isom and Young need to step up as we head deeper into the playoffs. Tyler was virtually ineffective on offense for some reason, however he scored from 5 yards out on his only touch of the night. He had a solid game on defense, including an impressive tackle where he picked Kolinsky up and dropped him like a bag of potatoes. D-line was alright stuffing the run for the most part, didn't get great consistent pressure on Cates O-line struggled mightily at first, but came on late in the second quarter. Marcel, who's arguably our best lineman, got a little banged up on one play, hopefully he's 100 % next week. Our linebackers played well as usual. Daniel Cline had a great game making a few jarring hits and PBU's and played great coverage on some fade routes. Secondary played well except for getting burned on a few deep balls and a nice pass over the middle. Sam and Isom had some nice picks. Kicking game could hurt us down the road. Hopefully Sam will be kicking EP's and FG's next week because poor Castro's kicks looked pretty bad. We're really gonna miss you Derrick, I heard that MTSU and Kentucky were planning on offering him before his senior season. Overall it as simple as this: we cannot play like we did tonite and fully expect to win a state championship. If we make it past Loudon, I know teams like Boyd-Buchanon, Marion Co., and Milan will take advantage of oppurtunities that CAK couldn't against us, and the outcome could be a lot different If we play like this we will be very vulnerable....
  20. I believe that Lewis Co. goes down too
  21. Derrick Brodus (Jr.) from Alcoa and Zach Sharp (So.) from Maryville are the two best kickers I've seen this season. Brodus has sent well over 90 % of kicks into the endzone this season, and that's a lot considering how much Alcoa scores. He hasn't attempted too many field goals (once again due to Alcoa's explosive offense), so he's only hit 3 or 4 this year. However, I have seen this kid hit from 55 yards in warm-ups. I've heard rumors he's getting interest from some D-1 programs such as MTSU and a handful of others, but I hear time and time again that he wants to play soccer in college. Sharp is the same way. When I was at the MHS-Cleveland game Friday I found it funny that the Cleveland return men would just stand at the goal line almost completely motionless and watch kick after kick go over there head into the endzone. I saw Sharp attempt a 55 yard FG against Alcoa this year, and even though the kick was missed wide left it would been easily good from 60. I keep hearing that some recruiting services have Zach ranked as the #2 kicker in the nation for the 2011 class. Now that's impressive!
  22. QB- Bo Wallace (Giles Co.) Terell Robinson (South Pitt.) Barry Brunetti (MUS) RB- Orleans Opoku-Darkwa (Ensworth) Dorian Cozart (Knox. Catholic) Jobrokski Gilbert (Milan) WR- Keiwone Malone (Mitchell) Bryant Belew (Columbia Central) TE- Tyler Robinson (Alcoa) DaJuan Brown (Blackman) Harrison Jones (ECS) OL- James Stone (Maplewood) Zak Tait (Knox. Catholic) DL- Jaques Smith (Ooltewah) Tyler Robinson (Alcoa) Ishmael Lewis (Brentwood Academy) LB- Ferlando Bohanna (Whitehaven) Fred Harvey (White Station) Justin Maclin (Ridgeway) CB- Chaz Moore (Whitehaven) S- Shonte Sims (Henry Co.) K- Corey Acosta (Christian Brothers) Derek Brodus (Alcoa) .....just a few that come to mind
  23. With me being the big recruiting fanatic that I am, I can only wonder what schools are pursuing Chase. Does he hold any offers? I've heard some rumors of some D-1 interest. Alcoa fans help me out.
