  1. you have to be joking... huntingdon plays a quite tough schedule year in and year out. remember that westview, union city, bruceton, had down years this season. don't blame the scheduling for that.. no one can predict what happens a year before it does. but i agree huntingdon schould schedule opponents such as Southside.. Crockett.. or Covington.. i know they usually scrimmage obion county, southside, henry county, and other big schools.. but they should schedule some higher class teams cause this region 6-2A is on the rise.
  2. i did not say lipscomb people i said lipscomb fans..
  3. the way you lipscomb fans talk about your team.. i bet they haven't had a turnover all year.. but seriously.. after tommorrow's game.. i don't want to see any of you saying.. "well we had a bad game.. or you guys got lucky".. because the way you guys are building your all-star team up.. mistakes are not acceptable and are impossible.. "lipscomb is a machine" "lipscomb is in the top 5 statewide in all classifications" "there is absolutely no way david lipscomb will lose this game" lol.. i think we should make a pull-string doll for all the ignorant phrases in this topc.. huntingdon is fixing to knock the taste out of those little guys that you guys worship so much.. and to us it will be a humbling experience.. because we BELIEVED all along.
  4. i knew it would be like this.. this website is geared towards east/middle tennessee teams.. and everyone knows it.. when was the last time a game of the week occurred in west tennessee.. or when was the last "coacht off the field" interview been with a west tennessee coach.. the fans or players that post on this board are predominantly east tennesseeans.. so naturally every critic downs west tennnessee teams on here.. sometimes i wonder if the top tennessee high school sports website was based around west tennessee.. things would be alot different. it's all about politics.. predictions by players or fans on a message board have no say in who is better.. nor do stats.. or past opponents.. (in most cases). like dcw i will sit back and smile as the naysayers pick against huntingdon or any other small west tennessee team who doesnt get much coverage or attention, because in my mind i know that none of this banter matters.. its all in fun. it just makes the victory even sweeter.
  5. i found this quite interesting coming from westtn2004state earlier on in the season.. not really sure what he's being truthful about.. just thought i'd bring that out in the open
  6. next to the defensive effort.. props have to be given to the o-line.. they truly dominated milans defensive front for a majority of the night.. parish had all the time in the world and donald and bell didnt have to wait for holes to develop.. they were already there when he they got the ball.
  7. Chris Donald, FR 6 foot 2 200 pounds RB - Huntingdon he's only a freshman but already a top prospect in many people's books.. ESPN radio commented on his performance in tonight's game and stated that he WAS an SEC caliber running back. if he stays healthy the huntingdon program has alot to look forward to in the next three years.. but this year is NOT OVER because there's still one game left. i seriously think tonight's game vs. milan really put this kid on the map.. 202 yards rushing for the game. i'm sure alot of scouts were out checking out rod smith.. and discovered what they can be looking forward to in 3 years.
  8. only one word describes this game.. WOW this game is the biggest in west tennessee history in my opinion.. great game by both huntingdon and milan.. i cant believe it.. i had a feeling about huntingdon but they really took care of business tonight..
  9. oh yeah.. and this will surely stand out tonight.. huntingdon's biggest fan not bad for a last minute idea.. we were getting some gloves at walmart and saw this and decided to make a project out of it come join the tailgate party outside the main entrance.. just look for the 8ft tall mustang player
  10. 96.5 ESPN is broadcasting inside paul ward stadium for tonight's game

snow flurries.. has to be a good sign.. less than 5 hours til kickoff.. tailgating will start around 4pm so come and bear the cold and hang out outside the gate for a while.. oh yeah look for the big blowup mustang player at the gate..
  12. this is crazy.. i think lightning should be the only thing to cancel a game..

good thing i already have mine.. weather wont hold many people out of this one.. they've already spent their 7 bucks!!
  14. i think people are saying upset because a large majority of the media is picking milan to win this.. and people have said all along that it would be milan vs. lipscomb in the 'ship.. basically.. we upset Lewis County.. because they were picked to beat us or they were ranked higher than us or whatever uninformed critics want to factor in.. but its up to the 22 guys on the field who really wins

    I BELIEVE!

if that is the case then milan will be blown out of the water. look no one "knows it all".. high school football is one of the hardest sports to predict. the first meeting in my opinion was darn close, and if huntingdon had stuck it to smith and goff and wrapped up.. or if the QB boot or sweep or whatever didnt happen it could have easily been a down to the wire game. huntingdon defended milans pass exceptionally well. the DBs stepped up that game and that game to me was their firestarter. both teams are physical and if either one goes into it knowing their going to win.. then they'll turn their head one minute and they've given up a few big plays that put the game out of reach.
  16. proud LC father: tell me why you think i dont have any class. i am curious because i don't think i've made any classless comments.
  17. should make it more clear.. i didn't mean they were trying to help you guys.. they were just doing their jobs.. and may i say it was a poor job.. especially for a round 3 playoff game.. but think about it.. any call against a team.. helps the other team.. rather the refs are intentionally doing it or not.. i'm not talking conspiracy theory here.. just that penalizing didn't help LC enough to capitalize on the mistakes made by the referees.
  18. thanks for filling me in.. i didnt have a good view because it was at an odd angle to where i was.. when the refs didnt know where to spot the kickoff after the roughing the kicker penalty was the other major screwup.. that was ridiculous.. what kept happening on the extra point attempt after the second TD?
  19. nevermind.. there were so many questionable calls.. the website wouldnt be able to handle all the posts in that topic.. LOL
  20. someone should start a thread where people can ask questions about some of the calls.. i know theres a few that i was skeptical of.. especially the late hit called on bell when he was slung around by the jersey out of bounds..
  21. if there were 6,000 at the last one.. and other schools were wishing they could play their games on saturday to watch that one.. just imagine how many will be at this one.. i'd say possibly 10-12k.. this one's alot more important and alot more is on the line this time around.. that trip to murfreesboro don't come cheap.. and 13 games have amounted up to this.. the best game in west tenn of the season by far. besides.. how else are people going to exercise all that extra weight they get from thanksgiving turkey? nothing better than to roll off the couch and make the drive to huntingdon.
  22. this game was one of the worst officiated games i've ever witnessed. huntingdon pulled it out.. but i have the most disrespect for the LC team of all the teams i've watched this year.. they had no class.. there were several times i saw them do things like push a players head down to the ground.. or throw in a cheap shot here or there.. the refs couldnt do everything for the panthers though.. they're defense wasn't too bad.. but their offense was terrible.. other than a few plays.. it seemed like huntingdon knew what they were doing before they did it.. great job by the coaching staff of huntingdon.
  23. 4.5.. give me a break.. oh yeah.. walker runs a 4.3.. haha
  24. or just pound the ball.. we can do that too now.. the changes made on offense since game 7 make huntingdons offense completely different and more versatile.. if the rematch comes it will be a dandy one.. one where everyone can cheer all that thanksgiving fat off
