  1. I personally wish that high schools woul adopt the college rule an allow cut blocks all over the field.
  2. Shoun is a decent QB and obviously the best Science Hill had. Jeff. Co. cannot relax knowing this, or they will get bit by the upset bug again. Last weeks loss was a bad one as far as playoff positioning is concerned. It wll probably put us on the road in the playoffs. By the way, how to other JC fans feel about the decision to go for the win. I liked it because it shows confidence in the players. How does the faile conversion way on the team and coaches?
  3. Skunk, Points well taken. By the way, it is homecoming at DB, right? What is DB's track record in homecoming games?
  4. With region game #4, playoff positioning becomes very important. Here is a look at this weeks games: Region 1 Sevier Co. @ DB - DB will probably be mad after a "lack-luster" performance last week. Sevier Co. got shut out by a very average Campbell Co. team and has not scored in 2 weeks. Long night for the Bears. Science Hill @ Jeff.Co. - It will be interesting to see how the Patriots will respond to their coach's decision to go for two and failing at Karns. I think they rebound and beat the Toppers. Karns @ SD - Interesting because it is Riley vs. Riley. Spencer is the D. Cord. for Karns and Rocky the O. Cord. for SD. Karns showed promise and SD apparently played well last week. Toss up Bearden @ Campbell Co. - Somehow Campbell Co. keeps winning against bad teams. CC wins and is in the drivers seat for a playoff game. ** Side note - Region 1 is way down this year, other than DB Region 2 Bradley Co. @ Farragut - Farragut goes to 7-0 this week and finishes 7-3 and in 4th in the region. Bradley is BAD!!! Oak Ridge @ William Blount - Blount always plays OR tough, but the Govs ship has sunk. OR in a better than you would think game. Ooltewah @ Heritage - Long trip for the Owls. Mountaineers better hope for bus trouble. Ooltewah big. McMinn @ Soddy - It is put up or shut up for the boys in Athens. A loss eliminates the Cherokees from the playoffs. Soddy looked ad last week vs. Heritage. A close game with Soddy getting the 'Kees in the end.
  5. I apologize if my comment started a firestorm against this young man. I was simply asking a question that many college recruiters would want to know!! This ki is really good an should play on Sunays on day.
  6. Why would we replace a 3-2 for an 0-5. Not a smart move. Hutchins' team ain't exactly lighting up the board either!!
  7. Offense is not the Patriots strong point this year, either. Keep the boys up and they will perform. If the need to feel better, show them their old coaches record !
  8. Before I get to the region match-ups, I must tip my hat to the "Lower" region for having 3 teams that are 5-0 and the one that is 4-1 is 6th ranked Oak Ridge. Man, this region is certainly top heavy this year. Should be interesting come play-off time. Now to the games: Region 1 Karns @ Jeff. Co. - My Patriots win a power game with the Beavs in a game that sets the record for dastest game in TSSAA history. Campbell Co. @ Sevier Co. - Bears win this one handily. CC has beaten no one!! Bearden @ Science Hill - The Hill in a defensive struggle. Prayers to Bearden after tough week at school Dobyns-Bennett @ South-Doyle - Unless my neighborhood watch partner buys the entire DB team a lap dance at the Mouse's Ear, DB in a laugher!! On second thought, he might need to buy the band a dance too, just to be safe. Region 2 WB @ Farragut - 0-5 vs. 5-0. We may see if Farragut is for real tonight ! Bradley @ Ooltewah? - Not sure where this one is, but does it matter. It might as well be played on the road, because BC gets paved Heritage @ Soddy - Soddy big in this laugher!! Oak Ridge @ McMinn - Not as easy as some might think. McMinn has played some great D of late, but OR wins late!!
  9. Why, do you need an insurance salesman?
  10. Tennessee will not offer because they are loaded at WR with young talent, not because he is from TN. Remember, they signe Teddy Gaines from DB a few years ago. They have also signed several players from the state. If you put the Meecham kid or Bret Smith in TN high school ball, they would absolutely dominate. How are Lamon's grades and leagal issues?
  11. Your run of success is impressive, but not alone. Jefferson County, from 1982 to 1989, went to the semis 6 straight years, won at least 10 games a year, won a state title and playe for another uring this span. So on't think that yoyr program is alone in the rare air of success. I respect the tradition and success that DB has, but I do not think DB respects other programs at all.
  12. With such a rich tradition, I would like to see an All-Time DB team, position by position and a coaching staff (can be alumni who did not ever coach at DB)!
  13. i THINK THEY ARE 0-5 AN WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN A WINNING PROGRAM BECAUSE OF MARYVILLE, ALCOA AND BLOUNT!! HOWEVER, THEY DO PLAY VERY HARD AND WILL POSSIBLY UPSET A CHATT. AREA TEAM. LOOK OUT AISY AND OOLTEWAH!!!
  14. This game poses many threats to the Patriots. Number 1, Karns is a very physical football team that does have a lot of size. Number 2, the Elder kid has enough speed to hurt us on the corner. Number 3, they will load up the box against the O because we cannot throw the ball very well either. One good thing about this game is thatyou can watch all of this one and be at another game by halftime. It will be over quick with each team running the ball 90% of the time. The over/under on time length is 1 hour 15 min.
  15. Back in the late 1980s an early 1990s, Cocke Co. was a really tough football team. However, over the past several years, they have gone own considerably. Any thoughts of why from the Cocks? PS: I hope you all score 28 just so JC4Life will never post again. He is a true IDIOT!!
  16. At least we don't have to hear that darn Rooster crow over the PA. My Patriots showed some metal against a DB team that had them outclassed athletically. Shows what heart and effort can do. This on gets ugly and Shivy goes over 1000 on this night!!!
  17. Tribefan, it is hard to get all 'Keed up over this one because it always ends ugly. Cherokees score and score and then score some more and win by 60!!!
  18. It comes as no surprise to me that the West "faithful" have turned so quickly on their team. Morristown is full of frontrunners (love ya as long as you win). I am truely not saddened to see this, but the notion that these coaches (who went to the State Championship last year) are not playing the right kids because of $$$ is absolutely ridiculous. Just a word of advice, have enough heart and character to stand by your team in down times!!!
  19. Anyone know a date for the pairings to be announced? King Ronnie on High needs to let the fans know!!
  20. Unlike the first week of region games, some of the match-ups this week are interesting! Not!! Bring back 3 classifications please!! D-B vs Jeff. Co. - Looks to be the battle for the region crown.... again! D-B is rolling, or should I say flying, past the competition. My Patriots can run and stop the run, but D-B does not run. As much as I hate to say it, I think D-B wins this one and t may not be close. Sevier Co. vs Science Hill - Johnson City barely escaped South-Doyle at home. No way they win against SC Bearden vs. Karns - Not much offense in this one. Karns will win by however many they score South-Doyle vs Campbell Co. - A painful game for the spectators. South-Doyle has turned the ball over 16 times in 3 games. Campbell Co. finally scored on offense last week. I don't know about this one! Region 2 Oak Ridge vs. Heritage - Oh no! Lussier will be upset after losing at the Ship last week! They may score a 100!! Bradley vs Soddy Daisy - Soddy is very good and Bradley is not. Soddy by 30+. Ooltewah vs William Blount - What was once looked like a battle for elite status in the region has turned into a possible blood-letting. William Blount has staggered out of the gate and the road only gets steeper. Owls big. McMinn at Farragut - Farragut is 4-0, but who have they played? Halls(1-3), Karns(1-2), Bearden (0-3) and Heritage (0-3) aren't stellar competiton. McMinn needs this one bad, and I think they win this one by 7.
  21. This is truely an old Patriots dream week. People in Mo-Town are lying if they say beating Jeff. Co. is not their dream. But just like the 80s, early 90s, and last year, the Pats will prevail. But it will be close!!! Jeff.Co. 24 Condoms 20
  22. Looking at the schedule for East TN, no 5A game stands out. Region 1 DB vs. Bearden - After giving up 32 to Knox West, look out Bulldogs. DB big!! Sevier Co. vs. Karns - May not be a bad match-up, but not very exciting!! SC by 6 Jeff. Co. vs Camp. Co. - One good thing is that this one will be over by 9 PM because neither team throws it very well. JC by 10 Science Hill vs. South Doyle - wake me up when this one is over!! Tie 0-0 Region 2 Soddy vs. Blount - Soddy is good on D, Blount is good on O. Blount by 7 Heritage vs. Farragut - May be a shoot-out, and Farragut has to be upset about losing last year. Farr. by 20 McMinn Co. vs Ooltewah - Probably the best match-up, but I am not driving to Chatt town from Dandridge to watch it. MC by 3 late Oak Ridge vs. Bradley - Georgia Tech vs Cumberland ring a bell (212-0) Lussier scored 60 on one of his former assistants last week. Look out Bears!!
  23. Halls has no chance IF Maryville plays well. When the Rebels are on (I saw them versus Carter), only UT and Carson-Newman in this area can stay on the field with them. GQ is a Jeff. Co. boy.
