Who cares? If you got points for dribbling, a lot of people would be good. I know ball handling is important, but one must be able to put the ball in the basket to be good. I am not saying you can get by without a ball handler, I just think it is overrated

I hope they will interview Mark Chait. I knew him last year at Jeff. Co. and he is a really likeable and knowledgable coach who could lead this program back. Shattuck is a great coach at OR and will do well there if he is chosen.

Extreme Clinic in Atlanta by Adidas is a great clinic to attend. At the Marriott in Atlanta in early February. Carson Newman Clinic in Gatlinburg at the end of Feb. is also great.

I agree with you on this one Bud. Calling plays is not an easy job at any level of football, especially in the SEC. Add to this a head coach who insists on "pounding the rock" with subpar o-lineman and backs with no vision. As for Coach Meadows, no one can argue with the man's success. He has won everywhere he has been and he will win at WB. TribeFan seems awfully confident in his coach staying put, but the lure of coaching one's alma mater is a special priviledge.

No WackoJacko, I am not bitter. I am forever hopeful that JC will become that dominating force they were not too long ago. By the way, has DB and Coach Clark figured out how to keep from choking in the playoffs. You can win all you want to, but until you win it all, you will never be remembered.

The rumor mill is certainly churning. Meadows has moved back to Maryville and has applied at WB. That much is true. People continue to say Coach Meadows is leaving because of talent, but people need to realize there are family dynamics to consider. As far as money goes, I do not know many people who would turn down a position that will pay them more for doing the same job. As for you Bud, just keep your mouth shut and beat on your tom-tom or worship your bronze statue of Graham Clark or whatever you Indians do during the off-season.

I thought Heritage was going to name before Christmas. I guess not. I really thought Coach Corum had done a good job. i know people look at the record (1-9) and say how? But his team played hard and competed with everyone except oak Ridge and Maryville. I hope for their sake they can get someone good. WB needs to hire a proven winner. Good luck to both schools.

Jim Swafford should never be considered for a head job again. He totally ruined South-Doyle's program.

I think the sport requires too much dedication for a lot of today's children. To run, lift, and sweat is not in the vocabulary of many of the students today. Also, there is no "glory" in the sport. Not many cheerleaders attend wrestling matches. So they kids play basketball or nothing at all.

I will agree on the down fall of Jeff. Co. wrestling with Coach Price's departure. Turley is an idiot and does not even coach the team. However, when you can run as fast as Scooter can, size is not the issue with college coaches. His speed is SEC level and his aggressiveness does not hurt. He will be playing in college and possibly beyond. You obviously need to stick to wrestling if you are asking such questions.

Let sleeping dogs lie. Last year is done. Scooter Houston is an excellent athlete and a great kid. I do not know if he is going to wrestle or not, but I hope he does. I would be willing to bet that he is taking this time to decide on his future in college football. He may not want to lose any weight this winter because of college football. Instead of everyone coming on here judging an athlete for his actions after a second straight championship being taken away from him, you should be getting to know him.

Who is the last QB of division I caliber that has come from Tennessee. Some might say Pennington, but his senior year of high school was not that great. Plus, he grew a couple of inches and put on 30 lbs. in college. Ingle Martin obviously was not SEC caliber after his performances in the early games this year. Joey Matthews of Sevier Co., yeah right. The truth is, if UT is going to compete on the national level, it will have to go elsewhere for its talent. I cannot figure out why UTC does not recruit more in Tn though.

If there is a coach in East TN that is an equal match to Quarles, it is Scott Meadows. He has had success wherever he has been, and he runs good offseason programs. WB would be stupid not to hire him for fear that he will leave. In coaching and hiring coaches, stability is not a word that should even be used. Granted, coaching staffs that are stable are often very successful, but maybe that is the reason they are stable. Meadows will take WB places they could only ask Maryville about before.

A very obvious brother relationship I have missed is Don and Sparky Woods. Don is at Morristown West and Sparky I believe is at Alabama or UAB.

I dare say Coach Coatney was present at the clinic, or maybe he was too busy preparing his team for the championship game. I seriously doubt that any players on the 3A team are any better than Stephens. As for the beef on Ferguson being the 5A QB, his numbers are very impressive. But I would say it didn't hurt that Coach Clark is the head of the organization. However, I have not seen a QB like Ferguson in TN in a long time.

West went 11-4, so the folks in Cleveland, Jeff. Co., and Hillsboro can talk all they want.

Newman, Thanks for clearing up the problem with Clinton's program. It is idiots like yourself that have undermined the past coaches at Clinton.

I had forgotten that Coach Black's son was at Fulton. What a special experience that must have been for Mama Black when Fulton won the title.
