  1. I called up Ryan and told him about the love that was being passed around. He really appreciates it holiday. And to 1507......I AM NOT RYAN!! I think Ryan makes you all believe that because he just likes to have with you all, but really I'm the tennisguy, not Ryan. BTW holiday, who are you?? Just curious, I know alot of the people on here but that one eludes me. And to 42 and 8 from HS....Ryan also said hey back. Just got done talking to him on the cell......I do want to wish everyone good luck the rest of the way, congratulations to Hermitage Springs, from what Ryan tells me you all just about pulled it off. It was a great run and you have nothing to be ashamed of.
  2. Yeah, most of the time I...uh...I mean he is biblical in length. He really needs to learn how to cut his stories down but he has to do so many pages of sports, six required, he has to stretch a lot. Thanks....I mean he says thanks for the compliment crazyvolfan. He really appreciates it.
  3. Well yeah I am way cooler than Ryan, you should meet me in person sometime, I'm a blast . And about that quote, Ryan just needed to borrow my name to jump in on that thread. He is really into that tennis crap. Me personally I hate it . BTW crazyvolfan, you really looked hard for that quote from me....uh...I mean Ryan. How did you find that one?? Oh well its all good. If you are a vol fan you should holla at Ryan then. UT is one of the several schools that he has went to. Basically I just don't think he wants to get out of school. Anyways, best of luck to Hermitage Springs tomorrow....I don't know if I....uh I mean Ryan will be there but if not then good luck to you all!!
  4. It didn't live up to what the other two games were which was sad, but I do want to congratulate the girls from RBS, and especially the seniors, Shalena Gentry and Jania Ford. The team really came along way since the first of the season. Watching that first game against Livingston I would have never thought you all would have done as well as you all have but you worked hard and improved so much, it was fun to watch. And also congrats to the girls from HS, you all found a way to finally scratch up some runs and you took home an impressive win. I wish you all the best in your pursuit for a district championship. BTW, my friend Ryan was accused of being tennisguy today. Well though Ryan is a really cool, great, awesome all around guy....he is not the tennisguy Good luck HS!!!!
  5. I've had a front row seat for both games.....both teams really competed and battled with everything they had. It should be a very interesting district tournament, I haven't seen Monterey play this year but from what I understand they have a solid team. I think Hermitage Springs could win it if they can find any hitting at all to help out King and if they can eliminate some of the errors. If RBS hits the ball early they can be dangerous because they are very contagious when it comes to hitting. If they can put something together early, everyone will hit in that line up. Should be lots of fun and when I can make it, I'll have the best seat in the house.
  6. Looks like Brannon has gotten that team going again. Good job Coach!!
  7. My name is Ryan Jent, I worked at the racquet club for a semester back in 2002. I know of Zack, wasn't around him that much though. He had a big game, but Wishing, as all of those kids there at the club also have big games. This thread has turned really irrelevant. Who cares who beat who back in the day. A lot of people develop differently, some are better at earlier ages and some mature late. Just because someone is wearing someone out in 14s doesn't mean that tread will continue. A guy that plays junk and just keeps the ball in playin 14s will have some success at that level but past that they are done. Not saying Zack is or was a junk baller, I'm just saying that when I was playing there was a lot of kids that I could beat earlier because I matured physically earlier than most others, but when they caught up with me physically all the sudden I wasn't getting all the wins over those guys. Wishing is a kid that when I was at the club was just a little guy but has gotten much taller and much stronger here in the past year and a half and when I hit with him once this past summer I could definitely tell a huge jump in his game. Good luck to all players in the upcoming district tournaments. Braeden did you ever get that hair cut by the way??
  8. Probably shouldn't play.....no need in wasting the gas now that gas is so high.
  9. Who is this kid that is playing baseball now for Siegel who you all claim that is so much better than Kyle Wishing. I worked at the racquet club a few years ago down in Murfreesboro and Kyle was really tough back then. Btw, is Harris' Hooligans Braeden Verble??
  10. Don't get your hopes too much about regions...8AA has always dominated 7AA and it will stay that way this year. Macon County beat Smith Co. in the MCHS Invitational in Lafayette and Macon threw their number three and beat Smith handily. Plus I've seen DeKalb this year and I wasn't very impressed with them either. David Lipscomb will run rule who ever they catch in that district in the first round of region and who ever gets second in 8AA (could be either Macon, Station Camp, Greenbrier, or Portland) will handle the district champ over there too.
  11. I think Davidson is still at the top of the heap....I know that they snuck one out against Springfield and they got an early season win over Trousdale so I think Davidson is still one and Greenbrier is two. Trousdale defeated Springfield last Friday but I still think Springfield still may be in third....they might even be tied for second, with Trousdale Co. in fourth place. My personal opinion is that Davidson and Greenbrier, though they've had nice seasons thus far, will fall by the wayside because against a good team they are already down 3-0 before they even start because they can't win at one or at two and at one doubles. The biggest thing that has helped them out so far is the six singles, three doubles format...but when you get in district it goes to 5 singles and 2 doubles which really hurts DA and Greenbrier because both of these teams are so bottom heavy and its pretty much taking two automatic wins out of the line up for them. Like it has for the past three seasons, it will come down to Trousdale and Springfield in the championship. The only way that it won't come down to them is if they meet before the championship round.
  12. Not bashing anyone on here, I'm just being realistic, a school like APSU would be about as good as Herndon could do. I saw like you did the struggles when he faced a very athletic Fulton team in the state championship. At this level of football he was solid and at a school like APSU he could be a solid safety but thats about it. Its hard for any kid around this area to get a DI scholarship, very hard. And to the guy that compared his to Travis Stephens....I saw Stephens in highschool. He was one of the best runners I've seen and was an exceptional athlete....with all that being considered he pretty much just waited his turn at UT and never really got on the field all that much until he was a senior. Now he is buried on the depth charts of some NFL team probably never to see the field. I don't think a lot of you realize just how hard it is to get to a scholarship to a DI school. Fulton had a boat load of athletes....but other than Hamilton they don't have a single lock out there for a DI scholarship.
  13. Trousdale County took down Springfield this past Friday at Trousdale County by a score of 5-4. Now that Ford is back for Trousdale, it gives them a solid number one and much needed depth towards the bottom of the line up. Bogus, though it will be an up hill climb, I don't think I would disspell the two time defending district champions so easily, this team is on the verge of hitting their peak. I'm still not sold on Greenbrier, they have had a nice season so far but the lack of pop at the top of the line up will eventually catch up with them. Should be a fun district tournament at Hadley this time around.
  14. Greenbrier is a nice team who is very bottom heavy......the top two seeds aren't that strong but they have good athletes toward the bottom. They struggled earlier this week to beat a very average Macon team. Trousdale County could be the sleeper team in this district if they can get their no. 1 back, Michael Ford, healthy who has missed all season with a torn quad.....still doubtful though if they can get him back. Trousdale has won back to back district championships and hadn't lost a district game since 2002 until early this year...they are improving and could sneak up one someone if Ford can make it back. Springfield appears to be the team to beat in the district. After fielding some average teams over the past few years, Curtis Holland appears to have put his team back into position to claim the district championship. Springfield or whoever goes out of our district will have an extremely tough time with Cannon Co. They are really tough at 1, 2, and 3 but are lacking a little at 4 and 5. They are assured to win at 1, 2, and 3 and at the one doubles....if someone from over in 10A/AA can beat them then they will have to upset them at one of the top three singles spots. But no one in our region matches up with Lipscomb. I saw most of their starting line up at the Hendersonville tournament this past weekend and they are very strong. Probably not strong enough to take down who ever comes out of the Chattanooga region, but still a really strong team.
  15. They haven't even named the stuff that you are on.
  16. The most ignorant post I've ever seen on here ever....LA couldn't even win our region this year so don't think that you will win it over there. It is possible that you will have one of the best teams that you have ever had over there and you won' t be going to the playoffs. At best you all will get 4th. That is a whole different brand of football than what is played around here.

    7 AA

It's just like basketball.....whoever wins and finishes in second in 7AA will be sacrificial lambs to 8AA. Last year Macon County was middle of the pack in 8AA and they took their number three and beat LA 10-3 with LA's ace on the mound. Not nearly enough talent to compete with 8AA. Country boy baseball just doesn't compete with 8AA.

    Tennis

I'll have to agree with that. He is a nice player but benefitted from a weak region and an easy part of the bracket in the state tournament. He has a good game for someone at A/AA level but A/AA has fallen so fast in the past few years that it isn't even funny. Good luck to him this season, but he came at a time when A/AA is at its weakest.
  19. So now we have the 13AA boys jumping all over Doc. This is something that I've been waiting for is someone from podunk AA jump all over my district 8AA. Doc is something that you aren't familiar with, that is called WINNER! Not being too hard on you guys, well ok I am since I never let up . Doc has won more games and state championships than the Westviews, the Gibson Co's, and all the others in 13AA. Yeah he can remind of one George Jefferson at times, but he is successful and he wins. Its all a game with him you guys, the guy that said playing against him was hard hit it right on the head. He does these antics to get your mind off the game and onto him. He has who he plays against so psychologically beat that it isn't funny. MLK was outclassed talent wise by Haywood and will be outclassed from here on in by the teams that he sees in the state tournament. But don't be suprised if Doc pulls it out because he is that good!
  20. The teams that you cheer on 3pointer, the 13AA teams got bounced in the first round. And you say that they are powers houses gc?? Other teams in West TN success doesn't mean that you all have great programs in 13AA. You are riding the backs of a couple of A and AAA teams. And of course you would bring up the challenge series, a preseason thing that doesn't mean anything at all. Of course you all like to hang your hat on regular season accomplishments because what happens when you get to the boro?? The same thing that happened this year, you are one and done. By the way, if you want to talk about some head to head stuff.....didn't Upperman defeat Westview in the finals of an actual tournament this year?? Seems like you guys want to forget all the bad and focus on what little positives there are.
  21. I've been around Smith County a bunch and I've worked down there before and I have family that works in the school systems and other places throughout the county. The good ol' boy system is alive and well down there. They very much believe that if you scratch their back then they will scratch yours. If you are someone from outside of the county then you will never recieve a fair shake. One great example is Rick Spivey. The best basketball mind that has ever came in down there and he got run out of town.
  22. Another insane post, how can 13AA be the best district in the state when 13AA gets bounced in the first round of the state tourny like they did this year?? You guys have short memories over there covered up by a lack of intelligence, did you all not see the weeks events where Westview and Obion lost in the first round??
  23. CPA is definitely wearing the slipper because I've seen Westmoreland play several times this year and I've covered them for the newspaper since the beginning of the region tournament and I will say that is by far the sloppiest game that they have played. CPA is a team with average talent with the exception of Lee who is solid, but they are a team that has picked the right time to be playing maybe over there heads. No disrespect, they work hard and they seem to be a good bunch of ladies which speaks volumes about their character. But with the way Westmoreland played, especially coming off an emotionally draining victory over Chattanooga Christian, I think CPA got a gift.
  24. 13AA one and done again?? NOOOOO, no way, that doesn't happen except for well EVERY YEAR!! Everyone over there jumped on the Westview bandwagon, but that broke down pretty quickly. When will you guys learn that you guys aren't with the elite in terms of your district and region. On the state level you guys are average. Of course you wanted to do some challenge series thing early this season. Basically you guys were saying that 13AA was one of the two best districts in the state and thats the reason that I thought it was bogus. I knew that 7AA would be down this year, but I figured that the district that Walker Valley was in would be tougher than any of them. You have a long way to go out there before anyone will take you all seriously when it comes to winning a state championship. But you all will still talk the talk, but you won't walk the walk.
  25. Another one and done for 13AA, Walker Valley walks all over Westview by 11.
