Yea they could definitely use Goodwin's help. I don't think there would be much of a drop off from russell to goodwin. They need another guy that is very comfortable with dribbling. some of the other guys look sometimes like they are scared or aren't supposed to dribble! i hope he can come back and contribute a lil before tourney time starts and see what kinda run they can make!!

Soddy played very well for 3 quarters! I don't know what happened to them in the fourth. But i was proud of the effort. Soddy showed they can play with them and almost anyone in chattanooga. Shumate is doin a great job and the future is looking bright in Soddy!

Russell McNeil is a great point guard from Soddy Daisy and Ooltewah has a good one too. i think his name is brandon brown

Have ya'll still not learned that you have to take simon with a grain of salt? i mean come on. This district is a tough district and i think anyone can win on any given night. I know ooltewah beat us by 22, so we really can't say too much but don't act like b/c they whipped us that they are world-beaters. I personally see this being a race for 2nd between ooltewah and soddy, i could be wrong but i guess we'll see!

They could have numerous reasons but one i can think of off the top of my head is if they are reffing a game between their alma mater and rival opponent. there can be some bias there, that's only human though! Humans are not perfect and can not see everything from every angle. That's why fans will think a ref's call was wrong, different perspectives.

Are you kidding me? Soddy has cooled off? they have 2 losses! Your bias is more than blatant in this post! I believe after the owls lost to the lions, that put soddy into 2nd in the region. How can the 2nd ranked team in the region be "thrown out of the mix"? Utterly stupid!

Looks like some owl fans are a lil defensive after getting beat by someone that an "expert" like denlron picked to get beat by 15! That's right try and take the light off your lost to someone you were supposed to beat and try and point it at the defeats that other teams have received.

Notre dame beat soddy the 2nd time they played. Soddy won the first matchup! so they split for the season. i think red bank could definitely play with them, especially after beating ooltewah!

I was under the impression that HS basketball is not ruined at all. I think it's a cycle really. The fans badger refs and harrass them so much that a lot of them are driven out of reffing. i know a head official in the chattanooga area and he told me they have a shortage of refs b/c the attitudes and actions of fans have driven them from wanting to ref games. there for you will lose quality officials but in turn the fans get even more irritated b/c now all they have are mediocre to lousy refs (for the most part that is, please don't take offense backcut)!

Yea that's what happens in district play. Kinda like tonight out in hooterville!

i think ooltewah and soddy have began a very good rivalry in the past few years in all the 3 major sports! Ooltewah's fan support at the soddy game was poor for ooltewah standards. i've heard they have not been that great on other occassions also. kinda stinks too cuz the fans are apart of what makes it interesting and exciting at the games!

you think temple is better than bradley because of the result of one game? that's not very logical!

Are they in the championship game? So, they are 10-1 now. does anyone know how they have been playing? Who's been hot for them down there?

Yea that one steal makes him SO MUCH better than Brewer! HAHA!! Again, no one on this thread has ever said he was the best defensive freshmen, or player for that matter, in the SEC! You are arguing against no one. Just because his team does not play that great of defense, does not down play his defensive play! The kid is good and it's a nice thing to see a TN boy representin for us!!

First of all both those guys were VERY athletic but they did have the discipline, heart, and brains going for them too. How do you know so much about this years team and how hard they work? I mean since you're not a teacher or a coach or an ex-coaches boyfriend? Yea that year's team was a great team.

Those teams that beat them were not unathletic. Did you not have Josh Sullivan, Reggie Johnson, etc. on those teams? they were one of the best guard tandems in the city that year, in my opinion!
