  1. Unfortunately no... they declared bankruptcy and closed the Middle Tennessee market... although the West Tennessee magazine still operates to some degree... poor business decisions... I have firsthand knowledge of the situation... great concept... poor execution...

  3. Haven't heard either... I was wondering the same thing...
  4. Does anyone know whether the Brentwood tournament games are still on for in the morning? Or have things been delayed because of the rain?
  5. Anyone have an update on the tournament status for tomorrow morning? Have they canceled or delayed because of the rain? Any info would be very helpful.

  15. All the 2007 TSWA All-State Teams (Baseball, Softball and Boys' Soccer) will be released in late July, following the annual TSWA convention where the final selections are made based on nominations from coaches and members of the organization.
  16. How does everyone feel after the state tournament?
  17. We're getting down to the best of the best remaining across the state, but in Middle Tennessee is there a player (regardless of class) who has stood out among the others? Give stats if you have them... always interesting to compare players in different classifications as their teams continue to advance in the postseason.
  18. Please tell me I'm wrong... please tell me people aren't SOOOOO caught up in thinking how "Brentwood isn't as good this year so Franklin should kill them" that they don't want to talk about this classic rivalry game???? I don't care what Brentwood has or doesn't have, they always come to play against Franklin... and it doesn't help the goobers in administration at Franklin made this week Homecoming... That's right... HOMECOMING... against BRENTWOOD? I LOVE this game... every single year it is one of the best played, most dramatic games of the season... if I had to think of some of my favorites since I've lived here, more than one Franklin-Brentwood game would be in the top 10... My take on this game: Franklin has a great team... with shaky quarterbacks... if Brentwood can borrow some of Independence's second-half gameplan this game could get pretty interesting... if Franklin's quarterbacks finally start making plays, the Bruins could be in trouble early... You don't have schools less than 10 miles apart and kids who see each other at the mall, the grocery store or the local Sonic/McDonald's without a little bit of rivalry spice... I think the whole homecoming thing is going to play a HUGE factor in this game... the folks at Brentwood are PEEVED about being Franklin's homecoming... that's like smacking them right in the face and saying, "Hey, you guys aren't any good..." So... if no one wants to talk about it, fine... I know I'll be there... and I'll be excited as heck to see what happens...
  19. I SERIOUSLY doubt Brian Rector is wasting time watching film on Independence when he's got enough problems worrying about beating Brentwood... if there is an Independence film in Ravenwood's possession, it's been watched in passing or just as a reference... Rector is the king of "one game at a time"... all he cares about is Brentwood... after that, it's Smyrna... after that its Columbia, then Centennial and THEN Independence... a lot changes in five weeks... Stopping the Indy of this week will be different than stopping the Indy of Week 8...
  20. You people make my head hurt with all your comparing opponents... it's apples and oranges, folks... Independence's schedule is not the same as Franklin's... if they had played the same teams, THEN you could use those comparisons... but the way you're all talking, it's just going around in circles... bottom line, Franklin's offense has not arrived quite yet, but last week was a good sign... Independence's offense has been firing on all cylinders since the thumping of Page in Week Zero... What that adds up to, I have no clue... all I know is this will be the biggest game in Independence's history, and even a competitive loss puts the Eagles in great position for the stretch run... I think Franklin wins, but Indy definitely makes things interesting for a while... and who knows? A bounce of the ball here or there, and we could have a Cinderella story... it'll be fun, that's for sure...
  21. The "coaching staff" theory doesn't hold a lot of water... coaches don't win games... players do... if you don't have quality athletes, good coaches only can get you so far... BGA still has a long way to go, but TJ certainly has the potential to bring home a gold ball in a few years... although with the new classification issue, it will be interesting to see if BGA wants to beat up on the weak sisters or move up with BA, MBA and the big boys...
  22. Not quite... if someone happens to beat Riverdale, all bets are off... it's really a toss up after that... the west half of the bracket is fairly weak again, but most of those teams are good enough to match up with anyone OTHER than Riverdale...
  23. Wow... just over 24 hours before gametime and just two pages of talk? I'm hyping this rivalry as the best in the county tomorrow... where are all the fans and game chatter?
