I wish Joe would play the entire game. I have seen him twice at the State and every time he doesn't play hard until the last few minutes if the game is tight. I even had a WS fan tell me he plays like that all the time. Maybe that is why he didn't want to go to UT since he would have had to play defense all the time.

Does anyone have a listing where the AA tourneys in East Tennessee will be held?

I noticed there is no mid day break anymore. Used to be a good time to run out for a quick steak or something. I guess now I will have to eat hotdogs and pizza.

In 71-72 it was Riverside and Howard 5 times. Riverside won all five. That was also the last year of no divisions in basketball (Geesh I am old).

As an old timer, I can remember my senior year when Riverside and Howard played 5 times that year with Riverside winning them all. The last time they met was in the State Finals after they beat everyone else. Seasons like that is why they take two from the region.

Going to the State Wednesday and Thursday to watch. Have seen Knox area teams and Red Bank play. What or who should I look for from the other teams?

AE's biggest problem will be the coaching. Mitchell has great atheletes every year but lately have been lucky just to get to the State. I would love to see Fulton's coach with AEs talent!!

I am also from East Tennessee and have not heard anything about Liberty. How is their size? Any D-1 recruits? Top scorers? Rebounders?

My biggest question is why are alll 3 refs looking at the same thing instead of watching certain areas? Why does the ref at mid court call a foul under the basket on a blocked shot? How can a ref under the basket call goal tending? Many times I wish they would go back to two refs.

It depends on what you mean by "not trying to hurt anyone". If you don't count using the "N" word all night as not trying to hurt anyone and showing class, sure OS has class. But then what else is new, the teams in basketball the last few years has always done that to the blacks at Loudon.

I am not from Cleveland but I always pull for the team. I was Coach Moore's basketball coach when she was in the fifth grade a long time ago. I have always followed her progress and am proud to say I know her. If you see her at the 'Boro, tell her I said hello.

Before the minimums were put into effect, we played an away game in the substate for guys. We had a 2.5 hour drive, got to the gym 2 hours before tip off (30 minutes ahead of the players bus) and the gym was full except for a section holding less than 100 people the host school had roped off for us. The gym held 500 people according to their AD. There is a difference between home court advantage and keeping anyone from the visitors from watching the game.

I can understand the no using "Vacuum Cleaner action word" decision since TSSAA has made that a "bad word". A couple refs have told us that telling a ref he does that is enough to get you tossed out of the gym and I have seen just that a couple times this year. I guess all the adults want their kids to be smart as a Duke student but not as rowdy as a "Dukie". How about that. Even Coach T won't let me use the vacuum action word now!

I don't think most of the people around Loudon had a problem with Coach Wells being from LC as much as the fact he had no experience as a head coach. McDonald had good references and had been an assistant but never a head coach either. I think that being burned by that made some of us leary about someone with no track record. As far as what LCborn says, I just wish that we had a chance to pull for our teams against each other. I can't believe that the people in LC haven't run Sims off yet for cancelling the rivalry games. I have heard all the excuses but none of them stand up. There has always been bad blood between the teams. If you think it is bad now, what about in the 50s and 60s when there were large fights in town before and after the games? If the powers in charge would show some back bone and hold the kids (and adults) accountable, they wouldn't have off the field problems.

Well I thought this was going to play out and I would not have to comment, but I guess I need to. Loudon had a first down inside of the Rockwood 20 and probably would have let the clock run except that Rockwood took a time out to stop the clock. Therefore they had to run plays or turn the ball back to Rockwood. As far as the quarterback scoring instead of the 3rd string full back, Loudon tried but Rockwood keyed on him so they called the quartebacks number instead.

What kind of facilities do they have at CAK? Can the visitor stands hold all the Loudon fans or will some of us have to sit on the home side like we have to do most every where else?

I don't think Wells or Lorenz is a shoe in. One of the problems with McDonald was that he had no experience in how to run a High School Program. I believe they will get someone that has at least 3 years experience on the High School level or more, whether that person is local or not.

Saturday, February 5 is the new game day.

Yes the game Loudon - Rockwood has been cancelled. I do not think they will reschedule it. The Loudon - Scott County game on Friday has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5.
