  1. Any station covering this game tonight (at least one I can pick up from Bluff Mountain)? It's killing me I can't go.
  2. No way Householder leaves Seymour, maybe years and years ago but not now. Mr. Galyon would be an excellent fit for Seymour in a few years though.
  3. Hey footballfan007 - You are incorrect Seymour's playoff record is 17-17 - please don't compare us to GP or Sevierville - or our coach to BH. A search of this forum will remind you of what a class program Seymour is (everyone seem's to think so). We don't run up the score as GP "used" to do. I'll be pulling hard for my Eagles this Friday. True we lost by 16 to Fulton earlier - we did turn the ball over six times - but clearly Fulton was the better team and probably would have won even if we didn't have any turnovers. Again, I'll be cheering hard and hoping for the best, but Fulton will probably win again.
  4. I'm with you laduke - I'd say Seymour 45-12. And thanks everyone for your kind words for our coaching staff - it makes you proud to be a Seymour Eagle.
  5. KevB, didn't Rutledge have several "McKinney's" during that era. It seems like Seymour was always getting run-over by someone named McKenney?
  6. I agree stumpman13. Seymour completes no passes. OS completes one for the long score and another for 3 yards. Still pleased with my Eagles - we ran, ran, ran and OS couldn't keep up.
  7. OS scores first. QB rolls out DB comes up and completes a long pass for TD. Seymour marches down the field and matches the score. All Seymour from there on. Seymour missed three field goals and even had the ball on the OS 5 or so - but unsportmanlike conduct took them out of touchdown range. CCHSJets2002 was the closest prediction - 20-7 - pretty close.
  8. No problem b-in-b. Good luck against the Falcons this Friday.
  9. backinblack - I said I didn't see it - I'm not crying about it. I'm not denying the kid's effort - I didn't "wrip" the kids helmet off. I don't have a problem with and I don't need to see your tape. I'm not having a pity party and I didn't jump in the refs face - I didn't block the refs view. Geesh yourself. I'm no PF fan and I'm no SN fan. I was just relaying info. I don't get in people's faces on this site, so you can go ahead and get out out mine. Grow up.... I'm a Seymour Eagle fan and will be waiting for SN on the 24th.
  10. footballfan007, you're nuts.
  11. Hey everyone - I didn't see the game (I was watching Seymour go 35 up before half) - but it must have been a horribly called game in favor of SN - especially the TD call at the end. Take a look at this link Raiders 'crawl' away with OT win over Pigeon Forge. For a sportswriter to say: It must have been a horrible, horrible call. I'm glad it didn't happen to us.
  12. pfhscoach and muffin sound about right.
  13. Agree with proudeagle. Seymour "could" have beaten Fulton had it not turned the ball over 6 times, but still might not have been able to. I've watched Seymour football since the late 70's - I believe this is the best defensive team I've seen Gary put on the field, but one of the weakest offensively. 86 points through 5 games. My bet would be Seymour definately makes it to the second round, hopefully the third - but, unless they answer some big questions on offense - I believe it's very doubtful they could make it past the third round - and I'm one of their biggest fans!

    GP beaten!

We beat 'em at their own game. Smash-mouth! Follow this link at the News-Sentinel: http://www.knoxnews.com/kns/prep_football/...2302839,00.html To quote: "Seymour used defense, defense and a little more defense to get a 6-0 win on the road, holding the Highlanders (3-2) to just 4 yards of total offense and four first downs. It was the second shutout in as many weeks for the Eagles (4-1)." Come on Eagle offense - y'all need to pick it up.
  15. If you aren't doing anything tonight, come see this fantastic rivalry. My memories - 1980 or 1981 Seymour 42-7 Getting barked at by GP's dogpound late 80's, early 90's, where were they at the end of the game? GP's o-line "rolling" up to the line in the 80's Seymour's 21-20 victory over GP at Seymour - it looked like GP's missed xtra point went under the cross bar Coach Hammonds warming his team up at the primary school, getting on the bus and then walking onto the field at Seymour just minutes before kickoff Four overtime game, Seymour missing the winning field goal in the 3rd OT for the win I can't wait for the kickoff!
  16. I couldn't agree more. I hope my Eagles can win it. But it's always a tough game at the Mountain Thicket.
  17. Art, are you an architect? Your score sounds about right!
  18. KevB, I agree with what you said. Did it appear to you that your team just got very tired in the 4th. Rutledge was still hitting hard, but not wrapping up any tackles. Just seemed they were very tired..... Also, what was going on with your coach? Blown call or frustration? I thought a baseball manager/umpire argument was breaking out!
  19. Hey Kevin, the Eagles are ready. The Mounain Press newspaper and others have really been playing up how we were beat last year by Rutledge. Then apparently RHS has a photograph of the big win hanging up as you enter RHS? The Mountain Press said: "Even last spring when Seymour's baseball team won at Rutledge to earn a trip to the state tournament, cat calls from the crowd were ringing out about how the Pioneers whipped Seymour's football team last fall." I'm looking forward to seeing Nathan Potter tonight - sounds like a big-time prospect. The Pioneers better be ready - I'm sure the Eagles will be.
  20. I'm very skeptical of my Seymour team. We've played to sub-par teams. Let's wait until we play a good team and then see how we are - I guess we'll find out alot about my Eagles this Friday Night.
  21. Born in 1965. Born again in 1985.
  22. License Number? I think it was LCHS 217!
