  1. 1st of all I have to point out I have not seen Dresden play. I have seen Milan, every game. I did not think Dresden would come close to Mck., I was wrong. It could be that Mck. is not hardly @ the level I was thinking. I guess Hunt. will answer that question Halloween night. Going by Martin vs Milan and Dresden vs Martin, Trenton vs Dresden and Milan vs Trenton, although Milan is somewhat banged and beat up after Friday night, they still have too many weapons for Dresden. Milan is the only team that can beat Milan until deep in the playoffs. Focus is everything. Yea Hunt. was a feature game, but it is over and now means nothing. Dresden I believe based on what they did last year in the 1st half vs Milan is one of very few teams that has any belief that they actually stand a chance vs Milan. Believing is 1/2 the battle, the rest is execution. If Milan is focused and ready look out Dresden, if not could mean trouble for the dawgs. Milan "are you ready?"

    Milan-Huntingdon

Hunt. is the most physical team Milan has played, by far. Hunt. is run dominantand, and the lack of a continuous deep threat hurts them, as they can not stretch the field. However I do believe Milan and Hunt. will meet again. Hunt. could be hard to beat on a muddy, rainy night. It would be to there advantage, more so than Milan. Milan with all of the dropped passes, penalties, and passes caught out of bounds let Hunt. hang around. Rod Smith made big plays offensively and defensively all night. Burke was a nightmare for Hnt. offensive line, he was every where. I guess the officials were trying to impress the TSSAA as they were being graded by them from on top of the press box. Overall not to bad of a job, although there were some hesitations in their calls at times and as always some things that were not called consistently. Milan showed another weapon, in West being able to not only pass, but to run. I think Milan showed that they are currently the best in the west right now. They have to many offensive weapons to cover. Milan just keeps trying different options, until they find whats working and once that happens, look out. I thought Milans D played better than I expected. I thought Hunt. would score a couple of times. If I may make a suggestion to the city of Hunt., please get some traffic control in place next time. It was awful and the police were just clogging it up more driving around in it with everyone else. When it takes 30 plus minutes to drive 150 yds in a parking lot, somethings wrong. Oh well that game is history and now undefeated Dresden is coming to Milan on homecoming night to play for the region championship. Another full house.
  3. Rain is in the morning and afternoon forecast. I hope Huntingdon covers the field at least partially.
  4. You have got a good point there. I have never realy thought of that. Most of those seniors will never get to play a game of football again after that last Friday night. How would the rest of you feel if you were in the seniors shoes? Odds are that group of seniors, got to play in a quality program for many years. I would say most of the time they also played in the 4th quarter when they were younger. That is how you build a program and not a year. Not only that respecting others and showing class and humility are life lessons, which by the way are more important than football
  5. Based on Dresden playing Martin and Trenton close games and Mckenzie and Milan having their way with Trenton and the same with Milan vs Martin, I would say that Milan should run away with Dresden, if they are not flat after this week. Mckenzie will also rout Dresden. Dresden should win over Camden and the UC game is a toss up. Dresden is above average this year, but not among the elite.
  6. CoachT has finally made it to the big time, made news in the Jackson Sun. I am in awe.
  7. No doubt about that Huntingdon is the bulls eye this week.
  8. Now that Martin fans have seen both Milan and Dresden play who is better? Now that Trenton fans have seen both Mckenzie and Milan play who is better?
  9. Davis is fine. He was kicked in the ankle and was taped and rady last night if needed. Milan vs Huntingdon will be Friday, move the others to Thursday, why have the main event before the opening acts.
  10. The only test for Milan in the regular season. the 1st of 2 for Huntindon. Huntingdon vs Milan BYOC (bring your own chair) 5000 plus LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMBLLLLE!
  11. Milans offense awesome. Scored and moved the ball @ will. Rod Smith 12 carries 160 plus yds @ the 1/2 with 5 TD's. Passing game superb also. Added more yds and 1 TD 2nd 1/2. Trenton was outmanned in all phases of the game. They are young and have shown improvement lately in the middle school program. 42 0 @ the 1/2 and Milan was about to score , put the 2nd team in and they got close, put the 3rd team in, kicked a FG 45-0. Trenton scored the 2nd 1/2 on the 2nd and 3rd units mostly.
  12. wescharge these boys are callin you out, be easy on'em!

    Milan-Peabody

Milan should win by 2 TD's plus. I have thought since I saw the schedule come out that Trenton and Dresden would be dangerous games for Milan as those 2 teams wee sandwiched in between big games. JCM- Trenton- Huntingdon Dresden Covington Humboldt. Milan had better not be patting themselves on the back just yet. PS This is the one wierd game of the season when Peggy Haney does not cheer for Milan, understandable, but weird.
  14. I said it b4 the season started and will say it again. There are 6 teams that could win AA state this year. Winning state includes maybe who is the best team, injuries, playing conditions, etc. Lipscomb, Goodpasture, Mckenzie, Huntingdon, Mitchell and Milan in no particular order.
  15. Peabody has an averagefootball team in AA. Yhey are barely AA by attendance. IF they were to goback to A like they are in basketball, they would be dominating and we would not be having this conversation. This is for anothr board, but get it together TSSAA and make 4 public classes in basketball and football.
  16. I did not say starters that play both ways. I said there are several players that play both ways. Rod, Daylon, are the starters, but what about Eric, Ricky, and others that do occasionally go both ways. I did not mean they play every down, but at some point during most games Daylon gets hurt, Rod cramps up, etc. At this point it's no big deal, but later it could be. The 99 and 71 teams did not pull an offensive or defensive starter to fill in for cramps, injuries, etc. A challenge to you guys from someone you all know and see on a regular basis, win out and you wil be one of the elite, otherwise above average like 5 or 6 other Milan teams. Good Luck!
  17. Although not among the elite teams yet, it is an above average year so far for Milan. Milan has a very good offense, good mixture of passing and running. The loss of Chad Autry last night brings depth concerns to the forefront. Unlike the 71 and 99 teams, that played very, very few people both ways, this team does play several both ways. They are not as quick as the 77 team, but I have not seen a team since that was. Defensively not as good as the 71,77 or 99 team, but close to the 98 team. Major concerns depth, special teams mental mistakes, and dropping catchable balls.
  18. Rod Smith had 36 yds I believe, but fullback Ricky Goff had 147 yds. Beasley had around 100 rcving.
  19. Milan is hosting a band contest November the 8th. It is by invitation only and to qualify you must have won a contest during the fall. The "Night of Champions" band contest is to find out who is the best of the best!
  20. @ Milan the seats are close to full each game if not overflowing. Milan has as much or more seating than most AA schools on both sides. The bands(s) take up a good portion of that seating. I do not have a problem with that as I have for many years purchased season tickets with an assigned seat. If you don't have season tickets try it you might like it! If you only occasionally go to a game, wear comfortable shoes!

    dresden vs. milan

Just another thought ! If any teams besides Huntingdon, JCM and Covington have a shot @ Milan it could be Trenton or Dresden. Looking @ the schedule IF Milan is beat up or over confident or not focused (like last year) an upset culd happen, because both of the teams mentioned are sandwiched between BIG games. FOCUS on Manassas this week and try and get better. Focus on Union City and then JCM, then Trenton, then Huntingdon, Dresden, Covington, Humboldt, etc. Any change in Milan's focus frm that order could mean trouble. You Milan guys pay attention and don't get set up and caught up in TALK just get caught up in being focused each week.

    dresden vs. milan

Just a thought!! What Milan has cometo realize over the years, is that whoever Milan plays that is the biggest game on there schedule whether it be Dresden, Humboldt, Trenton, etc. Milan has a bullseye on there back every week. That's just the way it is. So for other teams to look ahead to that week is hard not to do. Wherever Milan plays each week there will be a huge crowd, most of the time.
  23. The shirts say State Champions are made not born. I guess it could say 0-10 last place born not made. Then you probably would not hav noticed.
