Tennessee High... Sullivan East... Ya'll have no idea what it takes to make it through the playoffs, you will step foot on the same field as Maryville and already be beat, someone will come out of the west and present a great state championship game for Maryville... I just wanna know what else Maryville has to do before people realize that hands down they are the best overall team in the state all classifications. '97 state championship game, '98 state champs, '99 semi's lost to central who won state, '00 '01 '02 back to back to back state champs, '03 state semi's lost in overtime to a tough Morristown team... This year they are once again killing people, there is not a team in the state who can hang with them, Not one. Acloa tried, did a good job, they are the best 2A team. Go Rebs!!!

I'm not sure what happened, I heard there was a questionable call but, this marks the 4th yr in a row that Maryville has put out Oak Ridge now in the region tourny. The Clinton mtchup wll be a good one with Clinton looking for some revenge after last years incredible game. I'm biased I know so I got Maryville by 6 but either way itll be 6 pts or less regardless of who wins

I jus wanna say that if Chill is right on his one and Maryville holds sub state again for the second year in a row the what a job Rodney Nelson has done with that that, I know they have talent in Tipton and Gaskin but they have three other guys out there that have to hold their own on D and offense, plus the bench...I hope to see them do seomthing that last yrs loaded and stacked (Mr. Humprey and Co.)team was unable to do... go to state

Again, all well put, but I am going to have to give the upper hand to Maryville and Bearden only because Bearden has stepped up play the past 3 yrs in the tourny. They have come in 2nd and third place now the past 3 yrs in the district and Blevins gets his guys rolling. I dont know much about Cliton and Oak Ridge but I hear they can bring it to the table, Karns will be a no show I think, as well as Farragut

No matter what happens anywhere else in the state...2 teams from Districts 1-4 AAA are going to state.....who they gunna be? I'm goin with Bearden and Maryville in the Sub-State again for region 2...Hopefully seeing both of them move on.

DukeBaller, first off, impressive game last night by the mighty bluedevils...anyhow I'm not sure what you ment by..."if the ball woulda ended up on their side of the court, they woulda beat Greenville" what on earth are you talking about. gaskin was in foul trouble from the first quater on, Andy was a non factor, going up against 2 guys twice his size...Lee busted his tail doing all he could to win that game, and if we had some presence inside from our "all-region" post players it woulda had a better chance to go Maryville's way. But not because the ball didnt go to Gaskin or Tipton. Tipton has become a good shooter due to the fact that coach Nelson has taught him how to become deadly from outside. Andy didnt jus all of a sudden start bombing three's. You act like these guys were jus perfect players with no help. I give Tyler all the credit in the world, dude is a player, and his dunk over the now Alabama starting center last yr at the Arbys was increidble...and yea he can play some football too. regardless, i feel if Maryville had any other coach this yr Andy wouldnt be as dominant and Gaskin would be holding the team all up, which wouldnt get him anywhere, its cuz of the coaching of Nelson

This is true, they can make some noise in the other region, But remember last year when that Powell team was all hyped up to be great and got stomped by Bearden and once again it was 3 4AAA teams and one from the other district, Clinton has talent though...could be a force, but District 4AAA all the way.....

I dont seen WB upsetting Maryville simply because WB has no one. The past years you can argue well they beat them, but also, Maryville is 6-2 against them the past 3 yrs, and they had some good players. This yrs team is way low, and gaskin and tipton are yet to be slowed down. They have also shown they can win at Bearden including beating them at there place the past 3 yrs. Bearden has been a good home to the Rebels, and I hope to see them in Sub State again.....The other region is terrible so I'm goin with Bearden and Maryville in a classic

I'll gladly chime in here and say that Rodeny Nelson deserves coach of the year hands down. I guess I never really knew how good Lee was until I watched him play for Florida and noticed that he is matched up against the best guards in the SEC, guys who will be in the NBA in a yr or two, thats insane. All that was accomplished the past few yrs was given much to Lee's credit, but now seeing what Nelson has done with this team is unbelievable. He has taken some average athletes and turned them into very good basketball players. One of the smartest teams around, as are all of Nelsons teams. Kids come to Maryville to play football. and basketball at Maryville is what ti is to UT, a stepping stone from football season to well football season. Great job coach, and Rebels do what we couldnt the ast 3 yrs, go to the boro and represent.

The boys from Badley no doubt are the best. I think its a joke to even put anyone from South Doyle on there, but hey props to beating a very good Farragut team, but theyve lost like 4 of the last 5, no...These guys from Rutledge, thats a no too. I enjoyed reading the list of teams ya'll beat. South Greene, haha, nice...Seymour, thats cute...Gibbs, i guess thats almost quality, and did they really lose to Pigeon Forge, wow, dont ever put them on here again, enough Gaskin and Tipton from Maryville...C-N signee and region MVP right there, thats next best behind the best in the state which are the boys from Bradley

I'm gunna throw in my five, after playing the last few yrs in the area and watching a ton of ball, these guys bring it everynight no doubt. Greg Gibson-----Farragut Zach Gulmire----Oak Ridge Andy Tipton------Maryville Jody Fernser-----Karns Parker Clement--Jeff Co. I few guys who could go either way would be: Tyler Gaskin----Maryville (Region MVP last yr) Mykail Vibbert--Clinton No one from Catholic deserves to be on there, they are D-2, they play no one, its basically JV ball.....Those are the top seven guys hands down in the Knoxville area.

Yes, Bradley should be the deserving #1 simply because they beat white station, totally agree...jefferson country, unless shaqs son is playing there now or somehting should be nowhere near a ranking or any sort, db is no good, and i think maryville might be better than given credit for but they havnt proved anything yet.....and memphis might be loaded but those teams might have more talent but they arent all better teams. The majority are not dicipined at all and play wild and free on the court which is cool and all at the park, but in the gym it gets beat by structure and dicipline any day.

First off, yes acording to the AP poll we were #2 in the state last year, and after tonights game I dont think Farragt should be anywhere near the top.They cant handle pressure for anything. And also, that was a definte block, sad, but true, when tim was trying to lay it over the rim Gaskin knocked it away, it was real cute to see the class ofthe admirals as they put two cheap shots on Gaskin after that, Farragut wont make it outta the region, there was not a leader on the floor for them, go Rebs, got Bearden comin up.

All I know is that Bradley sure did beat ole White Station...Reminds me of when Morristown beat Maryville this yr in football...they finally got over that hump...Good job BC now go win state.

I dont see this years Farragut team near last years Maryville team, and that team was ranked 2nd in the state all yr. behind White Station. Now I know they beat Maryville once last yr but Maryville did beat them twice, and that team was way loaded with Lee Humphrey of course. Farragut is going good, but nowhere near the top 5 in the state. I saw them play against Bearden, and no, not top 5. They play one complete team and they'll get killed. The likes of Bradley Central, White Station or someone. Go Rebels Saturday I'll be cheerin.

This is the most humorous thread I have ever read. Started by a true Rebel fan accepting the fact that Maryville lost to a good team (which is tough when you've won the past of 39 games) and thanking Maryville for a good year...Continues with nothing but positive comments from team to team, and some pathetic "im finally glad we won" fan gets on here and starts calling Maryville sore losers. I'm sorry but thats just sad. Start bragging about records in the past so many years...wow so Maryville is 43-2 in the last three seasons, no one else can say that. So from me, good job Mo West, you won and are going to state, thats why we play, to see who goes to "The Ship". I hope ya'll win and celebrate the victory. Bring it back to East TN, and for all those you know what I'm talkin about, I hope ya'll enjoy the Garden Plaza, we sure did the last 3 yrs... I agre with who cares about California but to continue and say "and their weak football" you are crazy. California football would destroy tennessee football. Tennessee footbal is fun to watch and all but its far from the likes of California, Texas, Florida, Georgia. All those states state champs would whoop Tennessee state champs. How many nationally ranked teams are there from Tennessee. Yea, and last yr Maryville team was about as good as any Tennessee team there is or will be for a few years I think with all they had and the highest ranking they got was like top 40.
